Medieval King's Lynn feminist Margery Kempe gets a Portuguese tribute

Margery Kempe, who was born in King's Lynn (known back then as Bishop's Lynn) circa 1373, has a new statue that has been unveiled in the Portuguese province of Góis.
The sculpture was donated by the Portuguese municipality of Góis and is located in the roundabout of A Foca.

The inauguration was attended by the president of the Municipal Chamber of Góis, María Lurdes Oliveira; the mayor of Oroso, Manuel Mirás; Councilor Isabel Fernández, and Councilor Luis Rey.
