McLaren Port Huron is facing several workplace-related COVID-19 violations from the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The state agency reported Friday the hospital has been fined a total of $6,300 for allegedly not conducting a daily self-screening protocol for employees working on site, as well as not keeping employees 6 feet apart on McLaren premises and not requiring face coverings.
According to a news release, those violations of state safety requirements to combat the coronavirus were being treated as serious.
A separate “other-than-serious” citation, which prompted no financial penalty, was issued for not creating a policy prohibiting in-person work for employees and not maintaining a record of screening protocols for each employee or visitor entering the workplace.
