Steve Schreurs is known
around his Maryland neighborhood as just Steve. But to many more in the Washington, D.C. metro area, he takes on a grander celebrity: Marathon Santa.
About 40 years ago, when Schreurs
had a thick red beard, red hair, and green eyes, children would come up to him and ask if he was Santa. At first, he denied it. But now that his beard has become white, he’s fully embraced the role that he now loves.
