A Greater Sudbury man charged with second-degree murder concerning a serious assault in the Minnow Lake area will not be going to trial.
Denis Richer, 48, was charged in the attack on a 45-year-old man on Canada Day last year. The victim later died of his injuries.

Man pleads guilty to manslaughter Back to video
Richer re-elected to be tried by judge alone (he was originally to be tried by a judge and jury) and pleaded guilty in Superior Court Tuesday to the lesser charge of manslaughter. The plea was with the Crown’s consent.
