Malaysia proposes reciprocal Covid-19 vaccine certificate recognition among D-8 member states

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia on Thursday proposed to the D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation (D-8) the possibility of having Reciprocal Covid-19 Vaccine Certificate Recognition among D-8 member states to speed up the reopening of hardest-hit sectors.
Malaysian Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin put forward the proposal in his keynote speech at the 10th Summit of the D-8 on Thursday as he addressed the summit virtually, in view of the vaccines roll-out plans that are already in motion in most countries.
Muhyiddin is leading Malaysia’s delegation to the virtual summit, chaired by Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed. The D-8 consists of eight developing countries namely Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.
