ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday said loans are piling up and further loans are being taken to repay the previous loans.
“The loan instalments we have to pay increase every year. We have unfortunately been unable to properly manage our economy. We have taken several loans, which instead of creating wealth to help pay back loans are actually increasing our loans,” he said at the groundbreaking ceremony of Farash Town apartments in Islamabad, which is a housing project under the Naya Pakistan Housing programme.
The prime minister said the PTI government returned Rs15,000 billion more in the head of loans as compared to the previous PML-N government. He said the fate of the country would have changed if this amount were spent on infrastructure development. ....

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan Thursday said loans are piling up and further loans are being taken to repay the previous loans.

Islamabad, Apr 9 (IANS): Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said that members of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation should push back against vaccine nationalism and undue export restrictions to let Covid-19 vaccine reach equally to all countries of the world.
Addressing the 10th D-8 Summit, hosted in virtual format on Thursday, Khan said the D-8 should call for Covid-19 vaccine to be treated as a global public good, ensure equity, affordability, enhanced production and timely supply to save lives, according to the Prime Minister s Office.
The D-8 is an organization for the development of cooperation among the following countries: Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey, reports Xinhua news agency. ....

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday called upon member countries of the Developing Eight (D8) grouping to expand the scope of trade between themselves and mobilise resources to tackle the challenge of the Covid-19 pandemic.
He was addressing the 10th virtual summit of the D-8 Organisation for Economic Cooperation, a group that aims to facilitate cooperation in the field of development and counts Bangladesh, Iran, Turkey, Malaysia, Egypt, Indonesia, Nigeria and Pakistan among its members.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has proposed a roadmap to materialise the vision of the D-8, which aims at expanding trade among the countries to $500 billion by 2030 as he made an impassioned plea to mobilise resources to robustly recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Addressing the 10th D-8 virtual summit on Thursday, he invited the D-8 leaders to consider his five-point plan and join advocacy for Covid-19 related relief measures to deal with the unique economic and financial challenges faced by developing countries as a result of the pandemic, state media reported.
