The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday is a day of remembrance and community service events across Maine. However, the coronavirus outbreak has pushed many of these ceremonies online.

"We're asking you to look at the money you spend every month and allocate 10% of that money toward Black businesses," said Black Owned Maine co-founder Rose Barboza.
Other activists picked up the mantle of King's Poor Peoples Campaign.
