These are just a few of the many people from Northwest Connecticut who died in 2020 from complications of COVID-19.

Andre Ferguson, executive chef at the Courtyard by Marriott in Waterbury, died April 3 from COVID-19 at age 49.
Ferguson worked at the hotel when it was a Holiday Inn during the 1980s and ’90s. After spending time in Arkansas, Ferguson returned to Waterbury to be closer to family and took a job at the Marriott as a line cook, the only open position at the time.
