London City Airport expansion grinds to a halt with completion of taxiway
London City Airport’s £500M expansion programme will grind to a halt following the completion of the first phase of works.
The airport has announced the completion of a new parallel taxiway and aircraft stands, marking the end of the first phase of work.
A spokesperson for the airport said work on the expansion will recommence once passenger numbers increase.
The airfield infrastructure at London City Airport has been transformed in the past three years, with the construction of a new 70,000m
2 concrete deck to house the parallel taxiway and aircraft stands.
