Local superintendents OK after 2 attendees at annual meeting test positive for COVID

HENDERSON — Three local superintendents are fine after a recent in-person association meeting, after which two people attending tested positive for COVID-19.
The North Carolina School Superintendents’ Association held its annual meeting at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro on Dec. 3-4.
The meeting saw short-lived attendance from Vance County Schools’ leader.
VCS Superintendent Tony Jackson was “briefly” at the meeting, but had no contact with the affected individuals, VCS Public Information Officer Aarika Sandlin said in an email. Jackson gave a short welcome and spent the remainder of his time away from the meeting, attending the State Board Meeting virtually, which, she said, was taking place at the same time.
