According to the New Mexico Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard, as of February 16th, Grant County has fully vaccinated a total 1,858 residents for a of 8% of its population. In addition, Luna County has fully vaccinated 1,246 residents for a total 6.7%; Hidalgo County at 282 residents for a total of 8.3%; and Catron County for a total of 209 residents for a total 6.6%. The registration for vaccines can be found at vaccinenm.org through the New Mexico Department of Health.
The Silver City Museum and the Western Institute for Lifelong Learning have officially signed a partnership agreement that will allow collaboration on educational and cultural programming aimed at enriching the community. According to a release issued by the museum, “The agreement outlines substantial support for both organizations’ missions, which includes shared programming, technical support, marketing, and financial commitments.” In the past, both groups collaborated by presenting an Apache history program during a Lunch and Learn event. This new agreement was signed by Museum Director, Bart Roselli, WILL President, Susan Beck, and Silver City Town Manager, Alex Brown. In addition, joint programs will be advertised in the organization’s respective websites, social media, email, and other traditional media outlets.
