Last summer, Karly Cacicedo was not excited to start her senior year of high school.
"When it first began, I thought my senior year would be a total trainwreck," the Brighton High School student said. "I wouldn't have the senior year everyone else had."
The biggest disappointment was her pompon season getting delayed and performances getting canceled. When she found out her team couldn't travel to Florida for the national championship, she almost quit the team.
But now that her senior year is almost over, Cacicedo is happy with how the year turned out. She gets to have a prom and a graduation ceremony - with modifications - and her pompon team placed second in the virtual national championship this spring.
