Sierra Hull started her career off with a bang making her grand ole opry debut at the advanced age of ten-years-old. She was called back to the famous stage a year later to perform with her hero and mentor Alison Krauss. She played Carnegie Hall at 12, and made her first record deal at 13. In her late teens, she garnered the first of many nominations for mandolin player of the year, became the first musician to receive a presidential scholarship at Berklee College of Music, and oh yeah - played the White House. Suffice to say, that’s a pretty impressive resume. By 2016, Hull had reached a more mature place in her art and this was the year that brought Sierra to our venue for the release tour of her third album “Weighted Mind,” produced by the legendary Bela Fleck. A departure from her first two records that blended progressive elements with traditional structure, Hull let go of whatever preconceptions existed and birthed a Grammy nominated masterpiece. Many of the tunes you’ll hear tonight are from the “Weighted Mind” album. So here’s Sierra Hull recorded live at The Linda on November 19, 2016.
