The lead singer of acclaimed Northern Territory rock band
The Lonely Boys has died after a pedestrian accident near his hometown on Saturday night.
The 36-year-old man was involved in an accident on the Roper Highway, near Ngukurr in southern Arnhem Land.
The Lonely Boys emerged after winning the Barunga Festival's Battle of the Bands in 2006 and made their debut album the following year.
The ensuring decade or so saw the band grow to become one of the region's most beloved outfits, quickly becoming revered for their energetic live performances across Northern Territory communities.
