Fatal shooting on Drexel University campus has rock the community. Police say couple was having a dispute outside pizza hospital last night when a third person got involved. Eyewitness News Reporter trang dough tells us thats when the confrontation turned deadly. This is just something very extreme. Reporter shock and disbelief on Drexel Universitys campus. After a 24yearold man is shot dead during a fight with his girlfriend just after 11 30 tuesday night. Lieutenant john walker says a 23yearold drexel student and her boyfriend were arguing while walking on the 3500 block of lancaster avenue. Thats when a man decided to intervene. We have a male who is armed with a gun and a permit to carry for some reason inter convenience into the situation and at some point pulls his gun and fires three shots into the victim. Reporter drexel and Philadelphia Police responded and transported the noon nearby penn Presbyterian Hospital where he died of his injuries. Still interviewing witnesses and trying to gather as to what happened. What caused these two threes three individuals to come together want caused the individual who fired that gun to fire. Reporter students who live near the scene say any kind of violence on campus is extremely rare. So a really big deal when it came to our Hurricane Season this year but we were thankfully sheltered all in all on the eastern seaboard up our way. We look at storm scan3. We do have two fronts though and i mentioned that dry frontal passage the front is actually draped back towards the ohio river valley cant really make it out however the second front in line comes along thursday night into friday for us. You can see cloud cover little bit of precipitation breaking out from that. That will get here thursday night. Ill take to you noontime. This same time on thursday a few additional clouds starting to build by then i think you get through the evening drive without any problems really not until late on thursday night into very early friday morning that any showers would break out. But it should be mild enough we only have to worry about rain showers. This particular model run is a little bit morrow bust than originally reported earlier on today. Some High Schoolers are working together to help those around world experiencing hung hunger. Hundreds of volunteers fill the school gym stacking organizing and counting the donated food items. That will help make difference for people in need. Take a look. The excitement from the giving volunteers is contagious. Every time we get 20 i mark a tally well mark it up at the end. Right now were at 500. Their pick up bite Hunger Task Force and distributed to local organizes fighting hunger. Volunteers in another section put together meal packs for people in nicaragua and puerto rico for people affected by hurricanes. In the bags are soy, vegetables, vitamins and minerals and rice so that as nutritious meal that will fill their bellies. After seeing the devastation caused bite recent hurricanes, and learning more about hunger worldwide, the students wanted to help but didnt quite know how. At first we had no idea how we were going to ship things to puerto rico. One of the rotary members helping coordinate the scene was able to connect with Delta Airlines to deliver the food but, much of the rest would be up to them. A lot of High Schoolers are really bent on putting everything together, volunteering and making everything happen. The students from the seven different schools involved dont use you usually interact with one another they knew how important it was to work side by side for this one very important task. More than 3,000 pounds of food were delivered to puerto rico while another 54,000 meals were delivered to nicaragua and thats not including all that was distributed right here in the us. Great to see young High School Kids working together to fight an epidemic that hits our own very backyards. Way to go. Love it. Who says young people arent doing things that arent important. One thing when adults are doing it because were weiss and we know we should what do and give back another whole thing to see kids, youth, High Schoolers giving back like that. Good for them.
