I dont think it is, but theres always some slow traffic there anyway, lets go to the triple a Traffic Camera at the bay bridge. We dont have a big backup yet, so if youre going to San Francisco right now would be a good time. 530 lets get back to the headlines. Okay, sal. Thank you. Well, happening today, a protest and rally planned outside of googles tech conference in Mountain View today to condemn the companys Business Contracts with the Israeli Government. Ktvu is ali rasmus is here now. This comes after 50 google employees were fired after a similar protest last month. Good morning alex. Good morning dave. Today is the start of googles flagship Developers Conference here near their google campus in Mountain View. And behind us you can see some of the cars lined up. These are people not attending the conference. The conference starts at ten, but probably people working the conference today. And theres, theres directing traffic heading into the amphitheater. But an organization that calls itself no tech for genocide says it plans to stage a protest here to call attention to googles Business Contracts with the Israeli Government, specifically googles project nimbus. Thats the focus of the protesters concerns. Since 2021, google and amazon have provided Cloud Computing service Artificial Intelligence and other Tech Services to the Israeli Military under a 1. 2 billion contract. Just last month, nine google workers staged a sit in protest at the office of one of the executives overseeing the project, Nimbus Program that sit in lasted for several hours when it ended, according to the protest group. Those nine workers and about 50 other employees were ultimately fired. Now, organizers of the protest action today say they are expecting hundreds of people to show up where exactly theyre going to be protesting in relation to the entrance of this campus is not yet clear. As you can see, theres pretty tight security, and theyre checking all everyones badges and credentials in order to drive through. But the conference itself is expected to start at 10 00 this morning. The protesters say they will be out here making their voices heard as early as 830. So well find out where all of that is taking place exactly. Later this morning. Live in Mountain View. Allie rasmus, ktvu, fox two news. Okay, allie. Thank you. Well, san jose san jose state is now the latest university where proPalestinian Protesters have set up an encampment against the war in gaza. And were in our seventh month now. Now, the University Says while it respects freedom of speech, its main priority is keeping the campus safe for learning. Today or face disciplinary action. The protesters want the university to divest from israel. They condemn the violence against palestinians in gaza. Someone comes in for a procedure and ends up getting very sick, infected with sepsis. Its a condition that is difficult to diagnose early, which is why it can be fatal. But this morning, the good news is it is changing. Thanks to i. Fox medical teams dina centofanti joins us now with this new encouraging use for technology. Good morning dina. Yes. Good morning pam. This is interesting. And i feel like ai is coming at us fast. But this is an application that could save lives potentially. I talked to the doctor who tested this software. So first lets talk about sepsis. Sepsis. If it hasnt impacted your life in some way, you probably dont even pay any attention to it. But if it has impacted you, you know how frightening it is. It kills about 300,000 americans every year. There are many things that put you at risk for being in the hospital is one of them. Anybody can get sepsis. Its the bodys overreaction to an infection. Blood flow slows down, organs get, put in jeopardy, and it leads to fatal organ failure. In some cases, if its not caught early, oftentimes its not caught early because youre in the hospital, youve already got all these weird symptoms happening. And so it gets overlooked. Now this software is meant to change that with early diagnosis. Take a listen. Is the first, fda approved software as device for detecting sepsis. So its a software product. Its ai based, and it takes a bunch of vital signs, lab results that are drawn normally. Information out of the medical record, and then specific labs that are part of the test and puts them all together and predicts whether or not a person has sepsis and its better than anything else out there. So thats doctor simms. Hes an Infectious Disease researcher. And the idea is to get this sepsis immunoscore distributed to doctors at every level in the Hospital System so that you dont need necessarily an Infectious Disease doctor to come and analyze your symptoms. But simply the Computer Software will put them all together and tell you whether a patient might be septic. Dina. Absolutely incredible that this use of technology, any other advice that theyre sharing with the technology and things that we should consider because it is a scary situation in. Well, its funny because when it comes to sepsis, youll see signs all over hospitals be be aware of sepsis. Sepsis is our top priority, but at the same time its going undiagnosed all the time because the symptoms are so subtle. Thats why people say, well, what are the symptoms of sepsis . How can i know . And oftentimes you dont know because youre already in a compromised state because youre in the hospital. So lethargy, blood changes in Blood Pressure or just an overall feeling of you cant get out of bed. And its not necessarily related to the procedure. You just had. You had a hip replacement. You should be up and feeling okay, but you cant move. That might be sepsis. Its this overall just feeling of my bodys not functioning. All right. A time to maybe ask for that. That extra diagnosis.
