Kendra drysdale called it the most devastating news. Days earlier, she and others incarcerated at fci dublin had hoped things would change, with a special master appointed to oversee reforms immediately, they started shredding documents. Like bags and bags of documents. Kendra incarcerated for distribution of methamphetamine, says her case files were destroyed. The program she completed at other prisons and anything she earned at dublin, like certificates and a diploma, gone. It looked like i had completed nothing, anything positive that were in our files. Were no longer there. Peoples compassionate releases were shredded at the beginning of the year. Kendra testified in federal court about the retaliation that she faced for reporting an officer who she says inappropriately touched her breasts during a pat down search in 2023. Ive been incarcerated for a long time now, and never, ever has anyone done that to me before. Maybe she was just being overly thorough, i dont know, but i felt like it was not policy and it was not okay. She also testified about lack of medical care. Did not take me for the ct scans until judge gonzalez, until i testified in front of judge gonzalez, she thats when they took me, right after i testified. And i never got the results or got to see a doctor again after that. They will do the Immediate Care that theyre forced to do. But after that, theres no follow up care at all. She was released from fci dublin, reuniting here with her family, though she was able to go home, she still thinks about the women who remain incarcerated. The idea that you dont know where youre going, you know youre going to be farther away from your family. Theres no chance of visits any longer. Hi. Hi hi. Shes now adjusting to her new life on a farm in santa cruz county. I had to go to costco the other day, and i cried and. Its overwhelming, but, my familys helping me through it with freedom comes survivors guilt. I am blessed and thats where the guilt comes in. Because i am very blessed. I felt like its not fair for me to be home when theyre suffering so bad. Kendra is also pushing for accountability. The first step act, or fsa, allows people incarcerated in federal prison to earn time credits towards early release, and the Second Chance act lets eligible people spend some of their final 12 months of their sentence in a Community Correctional facility or Halfway House. The population of the bop would decrease immensely. Theres is so many people right now in the bop that are eligible for the Second Chance act, and that are not going home, the bop told us. All people in custody are regularly reviewed to ensure theyre given the appropriate credits and placement in community settings. When eligible. I have a family that loves me. I have, im sober today. Police say the driver of a white mustang was doing donuts at the intersection of jones and market in the tenderloin. That pursuit led to francisco middle school, where the driver hit a 14 Year Old Girl walking in a crosswalk near campus. The pursuing officer stopped to help treat the girl, they say. Us lawmakers say theyre concerned tiktoks parent company, bytedance, could share sensitive user data with the chinese government. Earlier today on the floor, we spoke with legal analyst and law professor Jessica Levinson about whether tiktok has a legitimate case. I think the first question is, what are we going to treat this as . Is this truly a ban . Because what the Us Government has said is divest or its a ban . And so the first question is, is that divestment a true choice . Will a court say that this isnt a ban . The lawsuit will likely further delay any momentum toward a ban of tiktok after the break. The first phase is about four and a half to five miles, but connecting antioch bart station to brentwood. That first phase will open in three years, with 200 autonomous glide cars servicing points or stations, as theyre called every few blocks along the dedicated concrete pathway. And so you can take a glide car in the future by walking maybe five minutes, going to an access point, which is a station, a glide phase station. Once at the pick up point, you use your app to hail a driverless glide car, much as you would an uber or lyft. A car dedicated to your trip and your trip only for a party of up to four, or baggage or a bike. And it takes you to the antioch bart station without ever stopping. Always a predictable journey. Time because building this, even with a dedicated pathway, is very light construction. It can be done very quickly and it can be done far, far cheaper than dedicated rail systems. And in that sense it is superior. Its way, way cheaper than putting in railway tracks. If it costs 1 billion a mile to build a 28 mile system, thats 28 billion. Thats just math. Our system is going to cost a fraction, ten, 20 of that. Another glide waste project is to set up a system to connect san jose airport to rail transit. Tom vacar, ktvu, fox two news, the San Francisco board of supervisors unanimously passed a resolution tonight aimed at shielding firefighters from toxic chemicals. Board president aaron peskin introduced the resolution. It bans toxic carcinogens that make turnouts water and heat resistant. Officials say these chemicals have been linked to Serious Health effects, including cancer. The current leading cause of death and firefighters. We spoke about the resolution with firefighter adam wood from station seven. Wood is also the Vice President of the San Francisco firefighters Cancer Prevention foundation. San francisco is one of five metro major metropolitan Fire Departments that is currently testing two different brands of pfas free turnouts. So were putting that data together, and i think thats going to go a long way towards allowing us to get these kind of products developed at scale and eventually approved so that we can equip every firefighter in San Francisco with pfas free gear. The city has until 2026 to find an alternative solution to the current firefighting gear. I want to take a look at the weather. Its going to be another warm day or warmer day tomorrow. Highs today look like these. Lots of mid and upper 70. So they warmed a few degrees over yesterday. Tomorrow highs will come up a good eight degrees 5 to 8 degrees maybe ten degrees in a place like or hayward tomorrow come up to 78 degrees. So were going to see lots of low 80s tomorrow. Thats the plan. And then continues to warm as we head into thursday, friday and then saturday and then sunday. Itll cool off a little bit. Theres no fog at the coast. This pattern is such that the winds blow more parallel to the coastline, so more northerly. And that kind of tears the fog out. And thats where we are. That fog got fractured last night. We did have it yesterday, but it got pulled apart. Itll come back. Itll be back, but probably not for the next 3 or 4 days. The time or the temperature line. You can see it going up and up. Up. It peaks as we get into wednesday and thursday. And then the wind advisory, you can see picking up parts of the north bay, strong northerly winds really gusting down through the valley. A lot of you will notice breezy day tomorrow. Most of you say san jose and hayward, but the really the heaviest winds will be noticed out by vacaville, antioch, vallejo, eastern napa, those places. So well keep an eye on that for you. That wind advisory will verify and the winds should come up by tomorrow morning. I have a model ill show you in a minute, but the wind should be up by tomorrow morning around nine, 10 00 in the morning. And then they should come up again on thursday morning. So next couple of mornings should be pretty windy in the bay area in areas, locations. So here we are right now. Theres the just look at the bulls eye right there. And so you can see that is tomorrow morning. Thats thats thats where the wind advisory is exactly. And it kind of slows down a little bit overnight. And then we get back into thursday morning and it shifts a little bit towards the west. The bulls eye that is. And then it goes away. So its wind pollens. Yes. Youll be noticing those. Youll be noticing the temperature increases for sure. Because if we do hit 90 degrees, say on thursday or friday, we havent seen those yet this year. So its going to be very noticeable when we do. If we do, the forecast highs for tomorrow will be noticeable as well. Low 80s and then the five day forecast shows those 90s potentially for thursday, potentially for friday as well. A little cooler on sunday. All right. Looks good and warm bill. Thank you a massive investment into womens sports.
