And good morning im dave clark. Its a friday. Its april 26th and rosemary has some sunshine for you today. Just trust me i know rosemary. Yes. Although it might look better than it feels when youre outside. Right. We have a little bit of sunshine coming our way, as you said, dave. Good morning to both of you. Good. Happy friday everybody. But we have the wind that we are expecting as well. So its going to be a little pesky out there giving you a look here over San Francisco where we are starting out with the partly to mostly cloudy skies and we do have scattered showers in the forecast for the first part of the day, and then drying out for the second half with increase in the wind. Right now, temperatures in the low to mid to upper 50s a cool one in santa rosa at 50 degrees. Not so bad in san jose at 58. Storm tracker two there pointing out a few sprinkles. It looks like over the Higher Elevations of the Santa Cruz Mountain area, as well as the east bay shore and over towards the santa clara hills. Seeing a few sprinkles, the snow in the sierra going to remain here for the first half of the day as well, with snow levels about 6000ft for us, well break away to the partly cloudy skies. The increase in winds and temperatures for the afternoon slightly below average. Ill have a better breakdown of today and the warm up expected for the weekend. Coming up in just a bit at 701. Checking on the highways this morning with sal. Good morning sal. Rosemary good morning to you. The top story in traffic has been the bay bridge. We had a stalled vehicle up there near Treasure Island for a bit, and it really did a surprise number on the bay bridge commute just because normally on a friday we dont have a big backup, but the lanes are blocked for a long enough time that we did have a problem there. You can see that the traffic seems like its a thursday or a wednesday and not a friday. The good news is theyve opened up the lanes. However, its going to take a while for the traffic to unwind. The rest of the traffic around the bay does look friday light 880 heading north and south. The south bay commute the peninsula. Well check in on those in just a little bit. But now at 702, lets go right back to the headlines and well get an update now on that developing story in San Francisco, as crews now have the upper hand on what was, for a time, a raging fire that gutted a four story residential building. The two alarm fire was burning on clay street at lyon, not far from the Presidio Branch library, the Fire Department says. When crews arrived, the building was engulfed in flames. Now, at this point, the fire is for the most part out and crews are putting out hot spots. They say no one was legally living in the building. The fire did not spread to neighboring buildings. Our time now 702. The family of an east bay man whos now on life support is demanding, demanding answers after an incident earlier this month at a park in oakland. They say deonte faison was tased by east Bay Regional Park Police officers back on april 5th while he was in the water at the Martin Luther king junior regional shoreline. The familys lawyer says faison had jumped into the water after being stopped by police, and he was tased in the back when he tried to swim away. It shouldnt take an attorney to tell you that electricity and water dont mix. Were bold enough to do that, but not brave enough to jump in and save them. Now, faisons lawyer says he struggled in the water for up to 30 minutes before he lost consciousness. The Park DistrictOfficials Say they dont comment on pending lawsuits. Well, california lawmakers are demanding an update from the bureau of prisons after the decision that closed down the scandal ridden womens prison in dublin. Now, senators alex padilla and Laphonza Butler sent a letter to the director of the bureau calling for immediate information about the efforts to give inmates, quote, care, dignity and respect to which they are entitled. The bureau says its addressing all of the inmates needs with compassion during this transfer process, the mayors of the bay areas three largest cities are sending an urgent message to state leaders in sacramento. Theyre calling on Governor Newsom and other state lawmakers to avoid cuts to californias services for people who are homeless. The mayors of san jose, oakland and San Francisco are joining other city leaders in calling on the state to dedicate one dollars billion to help local governments manage the crisis. These calls come at a time the state is facing a massive budget deficit. Time now 704 pg and e just released its latest profit report. Now between january and march, the First Quarter of 2024, pg and e said it had a profit of 732 million, up more than 28 compared to the same quarter last year. That increase in profit comes during a frustrating time for customers because of skyrocketing monthly bills, with more rate increases coming on the way. Now, pg and e ceo patty poppy defends the companys rate hikes, telling the chronicle theyre necessary to help the company continue new spending on wildfire prevention and modernize its electric grid. Rates are increasing 13 this year, but are projected to actually decrease by 3 in 2025, poppy says the company is committed to keeping future annual bill increases to between 2 and 4. Our time is now 705 at Stanford University. Protest tents are up this morning. Stanford is the latest school where propalestinian demonstrators are occupying the campus. The movement started last week at Columbia University. It has spread across the country at both public and private colleges and universities. Now at uc berkeley, a propalestinian protest continues. There are tents set up at sproul plaza. So far, its been a peaceful protest. In less than three weeks, the Spring Semester at cal will be ending. Uc Officials Say they dont plan to change their Investment Policies or practices, which the protesters are demanding. Down in los angeles, ucla has tents set up by hundreds of protesters. The encampment also has a library, medical tent and a desk for where the media can check in. Last night there was a counter protest. No injuries reported and no arrests were made. We are here because we have a set of demands, including divestment with our university in ucla. I think this is a shame, shame that Ucla Administration is allowing this to happen at usc. Its canceled its main Graduation Ceremony, with administrators saying that new Safety Measures on campus mean it would not be possible to process the 65,000 people who usually attend the event. Usc campus has been closed to the general public since wednesday, when 93 protesters were arrested during a propalestinian protest. Only students, faculty members and employees are allowed on campus. The San FranciscoUnified School District has two Community Sessions set for tomorrow the saturday meetings are meant to give parents a chance to discuss the districts plan to close or merge some of the districts schools. Tomorrows sessions follow a virtual town hall meeting last night in which the superintendent, doctor matt wayne, responded to a range of questions, many parents said they were concerned the district would target smaller schools in the city. If we had said our commitment was to have the same number of students in every school, well, then we could just say, well, were going to have, you know, in every school has 1000 students. Well, then its really easy, right . Wed have 49 schools, but were not going to do that because that does not align with our commitment to a variety of school sizes. The School Superintendent said the cuts are necessary due to a growing budget deficit, but he says the district still has not determined exactly how many schools may have to close tomorrows meetings are being held at sheridan elementary and roosevelt middle school. There will be five more inperson meetings next week. Time is 708 today. Well see rounds two and three of the nfl draft in detroit. Round one brought a lot of anticipation for football fans here in the bay area. Ktvu baglio carroll live here with the story, including the north bay football star who is heading to the raiders. Bailey good morning garcia. Yeah, 32 Football Players had their dreams realized about 12 hours ago when they got that anticipated phone call and then heard their name called by nfl commissioner roger goodell. And that includes, of course, that bay area native that garcia just mentioned, brock bowers. Now, bowers grew up in napa. He is heading to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Las Vegas Raiders select brock bowers, tight end, georgia bowers attended redwood middle school, and then he played High School Ball at napa before heading to georgia, where he played in college. And it wasnt too long ago that the raiders called oakland home. And when bowers was a kid here in the bay, he actually went to their Training Camps as a fan. Of course, his role will change dramatically heading forward now. Last night, his alma mater held a Draft Viewing Party at the gym at napa high. There were kids of all ages there. We caught up with his High School Coach who said brock has really done things the right way since day one, and spoke to us about how important this moment is to this Napa Community. Its huge, man. It means everything. It represents our school, you know, and Napa Community is were tight knit people, man. Were all going to be cheering for them. Theyre going to sell a lot of raider jerseys, ill tell you that much. The San Francisco 40 in celebrations while celebrations were going on in napa for bowers. Niners fans awaiting their selection in the first round of the draft. Well, they took wide receiver ricky parsell out of florida with the 31st pick. Both deebo samuel, though, and ed Brandon Aiyuk are at least as of now, still niners. So many fans are asking, well, why did they take a receiver . Its likely a way for the niners to start planning ahead for the future. As speculation grows surrounding ba and debos futures in santa clara, though, the niners have said that it is unlikely that they will trade either a guy. So that also means its unlikely that parsell will be a starter this season. Now as garcia mentioned, the second and third round of the draft are today. The niners have the 63rd overall pick in the second round and the 94th in the third round. Back to you. All right. Thank you. Bailey. Time is 710. We do have a backup at the bay bridge that we have to deal with. Its unusual for friday. It is loosening up. We had a stalled vehicle on the span that is backed up all the way out to the maze, which again, on a friday. Youre not expecting to see the rest of the bay area commutes do look a little lighter than usual, including the san mateo and the dumbarton bridge. Were also looking at some other commutes here, like 880, which normally has a lot of slow traffic. It has a little bit here and there, but for the most part, the rest of the bay area commutes are looking good. At 711. Lets go back to the desk. Okay. Thank you. Well, young tech workers, theyre leaving San Francisco, heading for the east coast. The reason millennials and gen zers are flocking to new york. Members of a group in San Francisco took matters into their own hands, with the goal of improving safety for bicyclists and pedestrians. They installed new signs on a popular bike route. The crosstown bike route, called the wiggle, has streets marked with green bike route signs on the pavement where cars and bicycles share the road now zigzags for a mile from the mission to the haight. Members of the group safe street rebel drilled official looking signs into the median on tuesday without city approval, warning drivers to yield to pedestrians and bikes. Members of the group spoke to us but didnt want us to show their faces. We really feel like sfmta needs to step up and just really drastically improve street safety. Sfmta tells ktvu while it appreciates the push for safer streets, the citys efforts are guided by engineering best practices and carrying out thorough reviews of feasibility and effectiveness for new or proposed roadway signs. The signs were not legal. They have been removed. All right, our time is 715 Community Members in San Francisco celebrating the creation of a car free space in Golden Gate Park. This coming sunday, the organization, walk sf is holding a party in honor of the fourth anniversary of the closure of jfk drive. Its now called jfk promenade. That road was closed to cars during the pandemic to allow people to get outdoors and socialize safely. Voters approved proposition j in 2022 to keep jfk drive a car free space permanently. The event on sunday runs between noon and 3 p. M. Well, today, a very unique Treasure Hunt is taking place in San Francisco, and youre going to be allowed to join them and take part in it. Ktvu is andre senior. You know all about this. So tell us about it. I can tell you all about it. Thank you so much. Appreciate it. 11 coins hidden in 11 different San Francisco neighborhoods. Youre going to want to be following along on social media, though. Now meet seth chandler, the owner of whitter coins in San Francisco. Hes the one behind this Treasure Hunt, hiding these rare collectible coins. All of the coins were made in San Francisco. Of the 11 coins, the hunt will include five gold, five silver, and one copper. They range in value from 250 to 2500. A gold coin minted in 1915 and a penny made in 1909, or two of the most valuable i just love coins. Ive been collecting coins since i was four years old. You know, when you hold a round piece of metal thats 2 or 300 years old and you think about our founding fathers, or you think about the country where the coin was made in, you could really connect with history. Chandler says they will be giving out clues on social media. Each coin will be placed in a plastic bag, along with a card on how to contact a store. Were encouraging people to bring it back here to our shop on lombard street. Just because we want to meet them, we want to see how excited they are. Maybe do a little bit of video on it, and most importantly, want to educate them about their coin that they found. The Treasure Hunt is open to everyone and aligns with National Coin week. Winter coin will be posting the clues on its Instagram Page starting at noon today. One hint, he says think like a tourist. He predicts the hunt will be over in a matter of hours because they wont be too hard to find. Gasia. All right, andre, thank you. I mean, the thing is that there are so many touristy spots. Yeah sal, i know we talked about this earlier. Did you kind of narrow it down to the number one tourist spot . Youd go first if you were looking hmmhmm . Well, i might go up to twin peaks, sutro tower area. Okay. What about the Golden Gate Bridge somewhere around there. I mean, i might do that too. Yeah, but it might be easier to hide a coin up near sutro tower. You never know, right . Not a lot of. Not as many people go up there. Yeah, right. I mean, thats a very iconic spot where you can see the city actually, we even have a camera up there. Maybe they can bring it up while im doing this traffic report of the beautiful view we have of San Francisco from sutro tower. All right. Lets go and take a look at some of these things. San mateo and dumbarton bridge, good. Bay bridge. Yeah, you know what . Its i would say its kind of a surprise for friday, for it to be this slow. Part of it is because of the commute that we had with the stalled vehicle that we had. Pardon me . On the span. No major issues there once you, you know, give it another hour or so. I think this is going to clear up because we havent seen the volume of traffic in the east bay. We havent seen a lot of slowing on 880. Weve seen a little slowing on highway four. Just a little bit because of an earlier stall. Six, 80 and 80 have been taking a break. So i do believe that the bay bridge eventually will get better. And now heres sutro tower. Its foggy. Thats why we cant show it. Thats fog. Lets bring in rosemary to talk about the overcast. Yes, that overcast is going to stick around with us, at least for a few hours. Do expect us to be mostly sunny for the afternoon, although wind is going to be a factor getting into the second part of the day. Heres a look. Another view this one of San Francisco and you can see the clouds there. From this point of view, a system working through the pacific northwest, california, nevada, utah, bringing scattered showers across much of the region and giving you a look at Storm Tracker two, where a few sprinkles reported here in the bay area. Trace amounts for some. Last night into this morning, Half Moon Bay reported a one one hundredths of an inch. San francisco, i think two 107 inch. And in the sierra, the snow is falling this morning with the level right about 6000ft. This will move out. It is not going to be with us for the weekend, but behind the front we do expect that northwest wind to increase later today. Winds gusting 25 to 35mph. No wind advisory, but still going to be again. Breezy out there picking up in the afternoon. And then as we get into the evening hours it will begin to die down. The breezy conditions expected to continue, though, into or along the coastline in our hills, perhaps San Francisco. If youre going to the giants game, gear up for that. 153 San Francisco right now, 54 in livermore and 58 in san jose. Now for the afternoon temperatures. Not bad, although were a little bit below average for this time of year. Low 60s san mateo for today, 67 in napa, 67 in concord. Getting into your giants forecast by game time at 715. Even though well be in the low 60s for the afternoon, 57 degrees by game time, and that wind continuing at about 20mph, the extended forecast getting into the weekend temperatures will be a little bit warmer tomorrow, a tad warmer on sunday, widespread low to mid 70s for inland cities, upper 60s around the bay, low 60s at the coast and continuing this trend into the business week when our inland cities will get close to 80 degrees on monday and likely hit it on tuesday. Back to you, rosemary. Thank you. An Oakland Police officer seriously injured in a crash several years ago is being laid to rest today. And some parents and students fought to bring back Police Officers to school campuses. But not everybody agrees with it. Well tell you about a new report that shows why some students dont think its a good idea. From ktvu, fox two news. This is mornings on two. Well, good morning and welcome back to mornings on two. Im dave clark. Im gasia mikaelian. Its friday, april 26th. Lets talk about this weather. Were really clinging to these dry weekends. Not as sunny as it was last weekend though, right . Yes. We are starting out with a little bit of cloud cover. Even a little soggy out there. Garcia and dave, good morning to both of you. Happy friday that will move out. We are not going to be wet for the weekend. We do. Well have sunny skies and enjoyable weather giving you a live look here at the oakland estuary where you may see the ferry just pulling in to Jack London Square. I was watching that just a moment ago in the backdrop we have San Francisco, a mix of sun and clouds out there, a few sprinkles still remaining for today. Behind the front that will take away that chance for rain. The winds are going to settle in, so i do expect us to have a breezy to windy afternoon, and temperatures for today will be a little bit below average. We will have a warm up into the weekend and dry conditions. A better look at today and what we can expect for the weekend. Coming up in just a little bit. It is 730. Lets check on the bay bridge this morning with sal. Good morning sal. Good morning. Yeah we do have a bigger backup at the bay bridge. And thats part of it because of a stalled vehicle it is improving a little bit, but its not friday light. I think people wake up and say, oh wait a minute here. This is not friday light other commutes are light, including highway four improving from an earlier stalled vehicle and also interstate 880. Well be back with another update in just a few. 7. 31 lets get back to the headlines. Okay, sal, thank you. Well, student protesters on the Stanford University campus held a march and rally against the war in gaza. Ktvu allie rasmus is out there and tells us that demonstration continues this morning. Theres an encampment on the stanford campus. Good morning. Allie good morning dave. Yeah. Now, at this 7 00 hour, were starting to see more activity at this encampment. This is white memorial plaza, tucked away in the middle of the stanford campus. You see a number of people in between the dozens of tents out here Walking Around this is where dozens of student protesters spent the night after a march and rally yesterday. We will not stop. We will not rest. This was the last. Several hundred people marched through the Stanford University campus with signs and some Holding Palestinian flags, to protest the war in gaza and call on Stanford University to divest from companies with ties to the israeli government. The student protesters say they see this current conflict in the middle east, and their activism for the palestinian cause as being very similar to the student protests that happened decades ago that called for an end to apartheid in south africa, as well as other international antiwar causes over the years. The demonstration yesterday here at stanford was peaceful with no arrests. I think one of the most important parts about this demonstration specifically, and what this Current Movement of encampments is that theyre predominantly for education. Theyre for imagining a bright and hopeful future for the Palestinian People and people and liberated people all around the world. The group here at stanford is part of a wave of student demonstrations against the war in gaza that have taken over dozens of College Campuses across the country in recent weeks. Across the bay at uc berkeley, theres a similar set up there with palestinian propalestinian protesters whove set up tents at sproul plaza. Now, last night, when the students here at stanford set up their tents, officials did hand out a notice to the people here telling them that their encampment was a violation of University Policy and that the failure to remove these tents could result in disciplinary action. So we have noticed, as more people are up and around this morning, that there are some Law Enforcement officers in the area, including some Santa Clara County sheriffs, who have been out here just standing on along the perimeter and looking at this protest here. It looks like one of the officers here has been looking at the encampment and writing things down, taking some notes. But as for the timeline as to when a students may be called on to leave this area, we dont have any deadline or timeline that weve heard from Stanford University, just that the students here did get notice that the university is aware of this, obviously, and they are telling them that this is not allowed under campus policies. Live at stanford, allie rasmus, ktvu, fox two news okay. Allie thank you. Time 734. A funeral will be held today for an Oakland Police officer who died after being on life support for almost six years back in 2018. Officer jordan wingate was rushing to a report of suspicious people at the port of oakland. A car collided with his patrol car, causing it to crash into a parked big rig. He was on life support ever since and earlier this month, he died in just a couple of hours from now, Oakland Police will hold a procession escorting his casket to the Three Crosses church in Castro Valley. That service will begin at 11 a. M, and it will be open to the public. Meantime, an army veteran whos also an artist is honoring officer wingate. Johnny castro sent us this image that he created. He says it involves hundreds of what he calls portrait of valor. Some High School Students in santa rosa say they dont want Police Officers coming back to their school campuses. This comes as the School District reviewed a report that concluded having Police OfficersPatrol School campuses doesnt make students feel any safer. What we do see in the question of the perception of safety at school is that over the last three years, we have seen a decline and that that information is shared, not only at the student level, but we do see that same sort of decline at both the staff level and the family level. If we dont hold the Mou Committee accountable to draft a Pilot Program that recognizes the current politics of policing within the city of santa rosa and sonoma county, we will continue to disproportionately harm bipoc communities. Four years ago, the district in santa rosa removed police from all high school campuses. Last december, the board took the first steps toward bringing them back following several violent incidents on campus. All right, garcia time 736 state attorney general rob bonta wants to drop a lawsuit challenging the rollback of title nine under the trump administration. Attorney general bonta says this comes as President Biden issued a new and final title nine rule. It addresses issues raised in the litigation by a group of states that include california. The new rule restores protections against Sexual Harassment and assault, along with providing protection against discrimination for lgbtq plus people. And as well as pregnant or parenting students. This week, a judge in los angeles ruled that a state housing law that allows homeowners to split their lots is unconstitutional. The law was passed back in 2021. It allows homeowners to build up to four homes in areas previously zoned for Single Family housing. Five Southern California cities sued the state, saying the law was unconstitutional because it interfered with their local authority over land use. The judges ruling means the law cant be applied in those five cities. Its not yet clear whether the ruling applies to other cities. The San FranciscoPublic UtilitiesCommission Says its moving ahead with its goal of buying the electric grid from pg and e. The Commission Says that pg and e has rejected its offer of 2. 5 billion to purchase the power grid. The city now has asked the state Public Utilities commission for an independent valuation of the grid. Hearings are set to start later this year. San francisco would see the benefits of public power without impacting tax dollars used for critical city priorities like Affordable Housing and public safety. The city says it would pay for the grid, with bonds covered by income from customer bills. San francisco says rates would be lower because the citys utility wouldnt seek profits or pay bonuses to executives. All right, gasia time. 737 right back to sal castaneda. Youve been busy on a friday. Yeah, its a little surprising, isnt it, to see the bay bridge on a friday backed up like it were wednesday. And thats exactly what were seeing. Part of it was because of an earlier stalled vehicle thats gone. Things are improving. The volume isnt there. I think it will improve. But if you want to wait around for a little bit, itll probably be better and hopefully nothing new will happen on that bridge. The good news is weve had alternate routes for you. San mateo and dumbarton bridge look pretty good. 880 is getting a little crowded. San mateo bridge is moderately heavy. I wouldnt say that if it were me, i would probably still use that san mateo bridge. South bay commute. Getting a little bit slower, but it hasnt reached the levels of monday through thursday. 738 lets talk about todays weather. Heres rosemary. All right sal, good morning to you. So when i was with you the moments ago at 730, we were watching the ferry pull into Jack London Square now giving you a live look at the oakland estuary, where the ferry is heading back to San Francisco. So folks are on the go this morning. And with that, we do expect partly cloudy skies for the afternoon and breezy conditions already seeing that wind pick up in certain areas and those that ripple in the water. There is an indication of the breeze checking in on the temperatures first, where we do have widespread 50s out there this morning, santa rosa a little cool for you there at 50 mid 50s in concord, upper 50s oakland, san jose. Few sprinkles remaining over the bay area before we clear out to partly cloudy conditions. Sprinkles continuing in the sierra of the sierra. Not only a little bit of snow today, but isolated thunderstorms in the forecast for the sierra and snow levels. All the way down to about 6000ft, which is right about lake level. It looks like over areas of lake tahoe this morning, a little mix of rain and snow as parts of lake tahoe are above freezing. The winds in our area. Oakland reporting a wind gusts to 31mph sustained napa at ten as we shift over towards sfo, even breezier than that, the wind gusts to 36. Hayward reporting 24 hour hills, also turning windy at this time. Mount diablo reporting 41 and into the north bay. Big rock reporting 40mph. So for the afternoon, temperatures are going to be just a little bit below average. Mild for most, but i think the wind is probably going to be the issue for many 60 degrees expected for a San Francisco today. A better look at the numbers for today and the warmer weather for the weekend, as the winds will continue to die down, it looks pretty pleasant. More on that in the extended forecast coming up. Yo, im a paparazzi. I dont play no yahtzee. All right. Now how do you come behind that microsoft showing how it can create hyper realistic videos of talking human faces using Artificial Intelligence. Youre going to show you this demo video of an animated famous paintings that went viral. Thats bonkers. That is incredible. I cant wait to learn more. All right, straight to the newsroom. The real deal. Andre senior, looking ahead to the next hours of mornings on. Good morning to both of you. You know, opening that work email every day can be overwhelming, right. And the Sheriffs Association says understaffing and mandatory overtime were part of the blame for these jailhouse attacks. The lawmakers discussed the disaster resiliency and coverage act, which would provide federal Financial Assistance to make properties more disaster resistant through grants and tax credits. The act comes as several Insurance Companies have pulled out of california. A breakdown of today and the pleasant weather coming our way for the weekend. Here coming up in just a bit. 831 lets see how the tail end of the morning commute is doing with sal. Good morning. Good morning rosemary. We have some better news. The crash on 17 ive been telling you about is finally cleared up. And hopefully things on highway 17 coming in from Scotts Valley will get a little bit better. Driving towards los gatos and san jose. Lets talk about the bay bridge that has improved a little bit. Its still a little bit slow because of earlier issues. Its backed up for about a ten minute wait, and then theres still some slowing on the actual bridge. 831 lets get back to the headlines. A group of pro palestinian student protesters remains at Stanford University this morning. Members are calling on the university to divest from companies with ties to israel. Ktvu sally rasmus is live now with a look at the demonstration this morning. Ali the demonstration continues this morning, although it is much quieter than what we saw here on the stanford campus yesterday. Behind us is white memorial lawn, and there you see dozens of tents that this is where some of the protesters and the students here spent the night. After a march and rally yesterday, say, we will not stop. We will not rest. This class that has. Several hundred people marched through the Stanford University campus with signs and some Holding Palestinian flags, to protest the war in gaza and call on the university to divest from companies with ties to the israeli government. The student protesters see the current conflict in the middle east and their activism for the palestinian cause as being very similar, they say to the student protest decades ago that called for an end to apartheid in south africa. They also see some parallels with other international antiwar causes and demonstrations through the years. I feel as if, just like understanding that this is something thats important, and if we have the capacity to do something, we should go for it. The group here at stanford, part of a wave of student demonstrations against the war in gaza that have happened at College Campuses across the country in recent weeks, across the bay at uc berkeley, there is a similar demonstration going on there with propalestinian protesters who have set up tents at sproul plaza. Now, in a post on social media, protesters shared a copy of this notice from stanford that the university gave them last night, telling them their encampment was a violation of University Policy and that the failure to remove their tents from white memorial lawn could result in disciplinary action. Back out here live. We do see now that most of the people who spent the night here are awake. Some people are taking down their tents. However, they still have this portion of the lawn kind of encircled and set up as part of their demonstration. Now we also did see Law Enforcement officers observing this encampment this morning. About a half a dozen of them were here, they were speaking with each other, observing from a distance. Some of the Law Enforcement officers were taking notes, others taking pictures. We dont know at what point if or when Stanford University may compel the students here to do more than take down their tents. But we have reached out to the university for more information. Live at stanford allie rasmus, ktvu, fox two news. Allie. Thank you. It is 834 now. A family of four was killed on a dangerous stretch of road in pleasanton.
