They heated city officials warnings to leave their homes before the strong winds and fire danger came through. People who lived in the east bay hills knows the risk of great if a wildfire were to spark up near their homes. Access roads, even on a good day are challenging. We understand that the difficulty that these events bring for our customers and the hardship associated with it. But, we do this to protect the safety of our customers. When the way conditions improve, pg e crews will inspect power lines for wind related damage or hazards. When they get the all clear, the utility will begin restoring power in stages. In san jose a tree fell on Market Street near south 15th. It took out some Electrical Equipment this morning. That did lead to a power outage in that particular neighborhood. The Santa Rosa Fire Department tweeted out this video saying that they were getting reports of damage canopies and outdoor furniture. This is what it looked like in the parking lot. Crew said they were very busy overnight with downed trees and power lines. The contra costa Fire Protection told residents to consider staying somewhere else until the fire danger passes. All parties in the east bay Regional Parks district are closed today due to the extreme fire danger and the possibility of tree branches coming down the powerful winds.
