Youre going to have hotels with a handful of people that are completely empty in other parts of the hotel. These are 100 secured, 100 segregated from the general public. Four people were taken to Monterey County to the sylmar state conference center. They gave no details on how they decided who would go to military bases or other locations. California has 157 confirmed coronavirus cases right now. Most of them are here in the bay area. Thats where 100 people have been infected. Unfortunately the Transportation Security Administration isnt offering many details about these three tsa officers who work here at san jose mineta airport. According to a statement from the tsa, quote, the officers are receiving medical care and all tsa employees theyve come into contact with over the past 14 days are quarantined at home. We dont know how many other workers or passengers those three infected officers came into contact with or where in the airport they worked. Travelers we spoke to this morning say theyre slowly becoming resigned to the new reality of being vigilant when traveling with covid19. Cities and Law Enforcement agencies here in Santa Clara County say theyll be enforcing this ban although they didnt offer any details on how theyre going to enforce it. Meanwhile, here at san jose airport, were trying to get more information from the tsa and airport officials about the three officers here who tested positive for coronavirus. We have spoken to some other employees here at san jose airport who didnt want to go on camera. They were afraid of getting in trouble with their jobs, but they also expressed a lot of concerns about their possible exposure and wanted to know more as well. San francisco superintendent says he talked to warriors officials and understands how hard it is to suspend games. Disgraced hollywood movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault. Youll remember weinstein was convicted last month of raping a woman in a new York City Hotel room in 2013 and for another incident with a different woman at his apartment in 2006. Weinstein faced a maximum of 29 years in prison and the sentence of 23 years is pretty close to that. Both women, who weinstein was convicted of assaulting, spoke in court today before the judge announced the sentence. More throughout the morning. North dakota went to Bernie Sanders this morning after the latest round of democratic president ial primaries. Overall though it was former Vice President joe biden who dominated yesterdays primaries across six states. Biden picked up michigan, missouri, mississippi, and idaho. Sanders took north dakota. The results in washington which is entirely vote by mail are still too close to call. In philadelphia biden talked about uniting the country. Uniting american, not sewing more division and anger. It means having a president who not only knows how to fight but knows how to heal. In his speech, biden also thanked sanders and his supporters, noting their Tireless Energy and their passion. The two candidates have agreed to support whoever gets the democratic nomination. Here is the latest delegate count. Joe biden with 823 delegates. Very unusual. What are they doing . Are they huddling up . The teams saying we should go to the debate in arizona. Maybe we should not. Maybe we should say thats it . Theyll be at the debate. I want a more progressive vision against what the establishment is pushing. Could even a spectacular showing at the next debate propel Bernie Sanders past the former Vice President . Bernie is consistent. I dont know if were going to see spectacular or spectacularly bad. Hes always pretty much the bad. What could happen is a major gap by biden. As we talked about for the last several months, hes not looked good in most of these debates. Hes been rickety. Hes a little slow on the draw. If its worse than that, that could bow sanders ticket for at least a few more weeks. We saw joe biden with the teleprompter. In some debates he doesnt have a teleprompter. Last night Bernie Sanders lost states that he won against Hillary Clinton four years ago. My question is is the Bernie Movement the same like it was four years ago or were those votes four years ago antihillary votes . A lot of those were antihillary votes. Were seeing that pattern play out. The turnout has been higher in states but his turnout has not been as strong as it has been. Hes not done as well in states as he did four years ago. Remember, hes not going to drop out because this is not a campaign for him like a buttigieg, klobuchar. These are campaigns. They were democratic partisans. This is a movement. Movements never end. They go on and on. Hes one more foot soldier in the movement hes propagating. Is there any feeling among democrats you speak with, ordinary voters who say it appears senator sanders is prolonging the inevitable, that the sooner the Democratic Party comes together, the better for democrats as a whole. I think joe biden going back to the debates, he needs a little more spring training. Debating trump is going to be very difficult. This is going to be good for him. He was able to hide in some of those debates when theres five, six, seven, 12 people on the stage. Hes not going to be able to hide. Its going to be two hours for him and bernie. That will be good training for him. He doesnt have even half the delegates. He wasnt gloating last night in his remarks to the country, but at the same time he was almost saying, hey, not just a comeback but this is a comeback for the soul of the nation. Bernie sanders can have a comeback too. Yes, he can. Its slim. Its there. Biden also said, the last clip you alluded to there, he said come on in. Bernie sanders folks, i want to praise you for all the hard work youve done. Usually you say that kind of stuff when you win, the other guy loses. This time Bernie Sanders is far from conceding at this point. What about the coronavirus . Does it play a role in all this . We saw two events get canceled. Does this come up between the biden camp and sanders camp saying maybe we should stop the primary season if it gets to the point where theres no path forward . I dont know if theyre going to say stop the primary season. But the other day i wrote that neither of the campaigns are backing off of doing rallies. The next day they said were not going to do a rally because the governor of ohio said that. They both canceled events that were supposed to happen in cleveland and other parts of ohio. This is the first time weve been out here for a few hours now. The first time were hearing an announcement. There are people looking over the port of oakland on this grand princess cruise ship. Of course this is day 3 of disembarkation. We dont know what time theyll start letting passengers off the ship today. But we know theyre trying to be organized. Yesterday it was all done in color coated groups. We reached out to the California Office of Emergency Services for an update. Were told theyre hoping to have information from federal partners soon. Princess cruise line says 1400 passengers have gotten off the grand princess cruise ship as of 7 00 p. M. Tuesday. Theres still about 1,000 passengers and 1100 crew members left onboard. On monday, only about 400 passengers got off the ship. So it was a much slower process. But things have picked up and the goal is to finish disembarkation by today or early tomorrow. Then passengers head to their 14day quarantine. Two women onboard who have been documenting their trip on youtube say theyre generally positive people but even theyve been tested by this whole situation. Im exhausted. Flat out, im exhausted. But being the mother and the wife and the sister, you try to be lets go, lets go see those whales. We are positive, and we are positive. But 24 7 trying to keep everybody positive, its very tough. American guests are being transferred to Travis Air Force base, san diego, Lackland Air Force base in texas, and Dobbins Air Reserve base in georgia. Officials say up to 24 passengers are being taken to a cluster of buildings at a sylmar state beach and Pacific Grove. The passengers are said to have mild symptoms that dont require going to the hospital. Because of that, they cant go to travis. The archdiocese of San Francisco is closing all 90 schools for two weeks starting tomorrow because of the coronavirus. Should San FranciscoPublic Schools do the same . I want to be clear that any closures or recommendations from closures should be recommendations from our health experts. The department of health here in San Francisco has consistently been in touch with our School District and our private schools and other places that have students associated with them in order to make recommendations. At this time theres no recommendation to close any schools. Based on what you her, and that recommendation from the Health Department, do you think its okay for these students to be going to school in San Francisco . I want to be clear. Im not a doctor. So i depend on the people who have the expertise, who have the data and the information to provide the best recommendation. They are making the recommendation and i think we should listen to them and follow their recommendations. From students, well talk about the homeless here. People living on the street. People who live in shared spaces and who test positive, do you believe they should be quarantined in worries theyd be quarantined in the presidio .
