People are not limited to one specific polling place, now they have 11 days leading up to today to vote in 110 different Voting Centers. Another changes every registered voter gets a mailin ballot. Before you had to ask for one. Despite the convenience, turnout is just at 20 . At the Registrars Office they expect that to change. They protect a 4050 chance with the more flexibility that is given. It is much more convenient, if the voter today is driving to work or online store shopping, they can go over to any vote center and cast their ballot today. Another interesting note, Santa Clara County now has three surprise screen voters. This is the first election they will use these devices. Im think about doing a refinance or go to buy a home, this is positive news . Rates were going to go up slightly. But now because of the discount they will go down a little bit. If you have credit card debt, which we dont want, it will go down a little bit. All the shortterm things will go down but longterm you wont get much fixed income by investing in 30 year bonds or the treasury. People talk about Student Loans and student loan debt, could that be affected . Not directly, no. Car loans, it will be marginally affected. They are all shortterm rates. But if you buy a cd, it will be less. You will go as much getting short as going long which is a different kind of department. We keep hearing uncertainty. So by doing this emergency cut, it doesnt solve whats going on out there and that is the spread of the coronavirus. We dont nomic solution, we need the healthcare solution. China and n continuing to go out to other countries, it is at will get ri factor and have more confidence. Yesterday we saw the dog go up 1200 points. The opposite of what we saw last week. There are a lot of influences. It looked like the federal funds rate would be discounted and is also a political election. Then my son was born years later and i started telling him stories about this girl who lives in a volcano with her family. And goes through Different Things. So now he is in middle school and the girls are about to go to college. So the story took more shape and has more edges and it seemed like it had a beginning or and and. That really is where an expert took the reins from somebody who could spin a yarn. So the first page i got back from him, i was like wow, as much as possible he could hold my hand. So really what he did with the story is make it into something i think is really quite beautiful. And quite eloquent. And graceful and im excited. Clete, you help the dave with the story and i heard dave say to another interviewer that i had the story but clete gave it to mention. Would you agree with that with what he said . You gave history more branches so to speak . Yeah, i loved it when he said that. Hes been very gracious about the collaborative process. We sat down for dinner and i was nervous because im having dinner with Dave Matthews that i had never written anything based on someone elses idea. I didnt know what that would look like. So he said its easy to get swept up in his passion and creativity and excitement so it was super excited to enter this world that he had been thinking about and building up in his mind. Then when i got time for the collaboration, he was so open to the process. And it looked like writing a book is an interesting thing, you going with a plan and then you have the character start to tell you the story and theres a spontaneity to it. He was really committed to letting me get in there and play with these great characters and this great premise that he came up with. I was nervous but it came out to be a really fun and productive collaboration for sure. Congratulations on the book. I would say that when i read his book finally, you know i had been looking at pages here and there but when i looked at the book in the end, i was just amazed by how much he gave the characters in all these Different Things that he brought to it. The San Francisco where the mayor london breed and supervisors are set to formally introduce the latest ordinance designed to reduce the rising number of drug deaths in the city. The proposal would create so called Safe Injection Sites where people would be allowed to legally inject drugs under medical supervision. It would go into effect if lawmakers allow the city of San Francisco to opt these injection sites. Supervisors scheduled to vote today to move ahead with building a new homeless center. They expect to approve the Navigation Center on gough street south of market. The city college of San Francisco owns the building. The calls for converting it into a 200 bed homeless shelter which would open this fall. A new report said california cities are not doing a good job of encouraging people to build areas to help the housing crisis. They said even though the state has reduced the red tape needed to build artificially known as dwelling units, some cities have added their own regulations. Making it easy to add the units is critical to getting more homeowners to build them. Apples 2. 5 billion for their Affordable Housing project is officially underway in the bay area.
