The 5th his bail is set at 500,000. A good thing that they caught the people who were responsible for the shooting. Reporter this man is a neighbor to the Orinda Airbnb home where the shooting took place. They say what they saw halloween night, the chaos, injuries and loss of lives has forever altered their sense of security. Its really hard to forget about it. Especially it happened so close to me. Three other students were wounded in the shooting before the gunman shot himself in the head. At this point, hes said to be alive and in custody. Tonight, students, family members and the community gathered to honor the victims. School district Officials Say out of the respect for the victims and their families, all schools will be closed tomorrow. Tonight, investigators are still searching for a motive in the shooting. Detectives have reviewed the video at the scene which clearly showed the suspect in the quad with draw a handgun from his back pack, shoot and wound 5 people and then shoot himself in the head. I heard two or three shots and then just saw everyone running out. Reporter were also hearing from student who is helped their injured classmates. I dressed her where she was shot in the side. Then she said she thought shes at holy cross. I just heard from my husband shes stable and is going to be okay. Reporter were learning of the shooting. Ty first they heard the gunfire and ran straight toward the chaos. Its a tragedy every way you look at it. But theres a Silver Lining behind this. The fact that offduty First Responders were there and did not hesitate, turned around, went right into the source of the gunfire to attempt to neutralize it. Reporter while police searched his nearby home, evacuated students were ushered to a park to be reunited with parents who had been waiting. Its definitely one of those you dont believe its going to happen to your kids school and scary reality is it did. Reporter authorities cleared the school and later learned the shooter acted alone. Students who witnessed the shooting within the quad are being questioned and so are those who knew the iend and mother are at the station with detectives currently. He is currently hospitalized. 96 of Public Schools do have active Shooter Training and that would mean all the students would have taken active Shooter Training with the very student accused of carrying out this carnage.
