According to the bay area news group, 43,000 people were flown in and out of the airport by ice between 20102018. 27,000 were deported during that time. The others were reportedly transferred. The report said ice stopped flights out of the Oakland Airport last october but did not give details. The report also says the Mayors Office and the oakland City Attorney are looking into it. We reached out to the Mayors Office this morning to get more information and we are waiting to hear back. The Concord Police term it is investigating an Early Morning accident that left one man dead. Police say a motorcyclist hit a car and was thrown into the streets and run over by a truck. We are live with more on this tragic story. Reporter that is right. Getting into the later Morning Hours, neighbors are waking up. They are telling us what they saw and heard. We did get Surveillance Video. The Surveillance Video we got is coming off of one of the neighbors houses. They have about eight cameras set up. The video shows the moment of the accident. We have edited it because it is graphic. The whole accident happened within just a few seconds at about 12 30 a. M. This morning at concord boulevard. We watched the video and it appears the motorcyclist is driving pretty fast down the eastbound lanes of concord boulevard when he hit the back of the toyota previous. He landed in the opposite lane when his motorcycle hit and damaged a nearby fence. A few seconds later, the driver of a darkcolored truck in the left bound lane continued to drive. One driver pulled over. We are told the driver of the toyota was shocked. A lot of neighbors went outside to help the man. We spoke to one woman who does not want to be identified but is understandably upset and has a message for the victims family. Reporter what you are looking at is the aftermath of the fence that was taken down by the motorcycle. The owner of the house said that he was out here and called 911. So it is devastating situation for all the neighbors in the area. The driver of the truck that did run over the motorcyclist has not been found. The concord Police Department is looking for anyone who has any information on who that possible driver might be. They just ask that you give them a call. And concord, ktvu fox2 news. And an east bay deli owner is responding to backlash from a message that he posted on facebook. The owner posted this on his personal Facebook Page putting meatballs made with beef today in case of pork haters. Free side when you say send her back. She is one of the four Democratic Congress women of color that the president referred to in a recent tweet saying they should go back to where they came from. Congresswoman ilhan omar became a u. S. The east bay Human Rights Advocacy Group that were planning a rally next saturday announced on facebook that the rally was canceled because of safety concerns because of a counter pro racism rally was organized to happen at the same time. The mayor responded to the controversy in a statement saying there is no place in the community for hatred and bigotry. She told us that although she has a strong believer in First Amendment rights, she is saddened by the post. Police arrested a man accused of planning to kidnap and sexually assault a woman. Police say Sergio Martinez snuck up behind a woman at a park and tried to carry her off. She fought back and he ran away. A few hours later, Police Responded to reports of a prowler in the same area and they say they recognized martinez from the earlier assault and he was arrested. He is facing charges of attempted kidnapping, and sexual assaults along with prowling. And and east bay womens shelter has been saved for now. Serenity house has been opened for women who have survived addiction, violence and homelessness. The nonprofit ran into trouble when it was told rent was being increased by 75 up to 30 of hundred dollars a month from 2000 a month. Serenity house has a gofundme page which has raised 27,000. Directors say they need to raise enough money to cover expenses until the fall when grants and contracts come into play. Neighbors joined for a good cause in San Mateo County. There was a massive cleanup effort yesterday organized by the county supervisor. The area targeted was Broadmoor Village. This is video from the Broadmoor Village in daly city where volunteers met up. They say the cleanup gave people a chance to make a difference in the neighborhood and do something nice for others. This is a social issue. It is a social problem that needs to be addressed. You have to remember that these people are working class people. They are just trying to make it. A public Swimming Pool in the town of paradise reopening today eight months after the camp fire nearly destroyed the whole town. Firefighters used hoses to refill the pool with clean water and the town park and recreation District Supervisor said reopening lets people know that paradise is making a comeback. Not everyone is up to the challenge of swimming through truss infested waters but why one man said it is worth swimming through hundreds of miles of polluted water. Embarking on a daring swim. Right now, we are in the middle of the vortex. We see a lot of plastic. It is pretty damaging to see. And this is not necessarily about cleanup as it is about awareness. Ocean cleanup is really expensive. I saw a statistic that said it would take 67 ships one year to recover 1 of the debris out there. Show us what you are seeing. What is the mission by the end of this and what do you hope to change . There is a big myth about the garbage patch. That it is a big Floating Island and it would be easy to go and clean that. But that is not what it is. What it is is high density concentration of micro plastic and you cannot get rid of it. We want to raise awareness about the problem. The only way we can tackle the problem is by stopping the source of the plastic. We are the ones that need to make changes to limit the amount of plastic going into the ocean. It seems less like an island and more like a cloud from the pictures i have seen. We are talking tiny pieces. And then bigger pieces where animals are living on it. I see this contrast between the beautiful clearwater and all that you see in there. What is the most surprising thing to you . It is very troubling. Two days ago i was swimming and there was a sperm whale with the baby passing by. And one after one hour after that, you have trash floating. This is the day we collected the most micro plastic. You know that plastic is affecting the sea life. What we dont see and what we collect is microfiber. It is another contribution to the problem. You have a team with the up scientists, sailors and photographers all documenting this. How much longer in your journey . How much further do you have to go and how far have you come . Right now, i have swim close to 200 nautical miles. When we plan we plan to arrive in San Francisco for labor day. We dont know the exact date. During that time, we are going to keep collecting and follow the protocol with scientific partners. And have the public be more aware of the problem. It is very diffict for people to care about something they are not close buy. So we try to reach the gap. It is amazing. 300 nautical miles. How difficult has this done for you physically . And how taxing is this as you head toward San Francisco . It is difficult. Every day i go in the water. I have to push myself. I swim between six like eight hours. The environment is very difficult. Two people facing charges in connection to a man be into death at bay point. 20yearold garcia and erica louise were both taken into custody friday. The Contra Costa County sheriffs deputies say the two men beat a man and left him to dry near Riverside Drive at Mariners Cove thursday night. The man was later identified as 38yearold johnny burns. He later died at the hospital. Garcia and louise are facing charges including assault with a Deadly Weapon and participating in criminal street gangs. A man is in jail accused of a teenage girl sexually assaulting a teenage girl. 24yearold do la crews sexually assaulted a 13year old girl who he is accused of giving her marijuana and had methamphetamines on him at the time. He and the girl were approached by sheriffs deputies wednesday while they were in a parked car. The man had been arrested on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a minor.
