And the problem of course is whether they are up on a poll pole or underground, they have to carry too much load, or they simply get too hot, they will shut down. The transformers and other equipment this cannot cool down fast enough especially the underground equipment, it just cannot cool down. Reporter then add in mega demand on the system. We see load issues the increase in demand, when the weather atop people use their airconditioners more reporter transformers step the power down from the main voltage system to the voltages needed in homes and businesses. Bottom line, when transformers fail, they usually have to be replaced and that can take a significant time for a crews to climb a poll or enter a vault to change a transformer out. She climbed out the window and into the water and swim away from the vehicle as it was catching fire. Reporter several hundred yards out to sea rescuers could see an object completely still at first and then there was movement. We spoke by phone with rescue swimmer heath who went in after her. Right when i sweat out to her she asked if i was okay. She was responsive, compliant with my actions and i was able to hook her up in my billy and tell her back to the shore safely. Reporter once on shore she was able to somehow walk. Rescuers put her on the Sonoma County Sheriffs Department helicopter and it took her to the helicopter i mean hospital with minor injuries. The letter said in a statement that investigators believe the woman had tried to commit suicide by driving off the cliff but she did have these words for the rescue swimmer who pulled her out of the water. She said thank you very much i am sorry this happened. Reporter sheriffs deputies placed the woman on a mandatory Mental Health hold and hope that she gets help for her Mental Health problems. First responders say a Suicide Attempt doesnt change their mission to save those regardless of how they got into their predicament.
