On the other side of the bridge, there was a crash on northbound 101. Traffic near the interchange of 101 and 92 will be slow. Theres also an accident northbound 280 at crystal springs. If i had to choose one freeway it would be 280. It is the worlds most beautiful freeway. Better than 101 at this point. Lets go back to the desk. In san jose, a two story Apartment Building engulfed in flames in southcentral san jose. 16 people ran for their lives. Flames quickly spread from the front of the building to the back. Leigh martinez is at the scene with the danger that paste people who had to race out of that building. Reporter firefighters said they are grateful for the Good Samaritans that helped get some of these people out. This fire was fastmoving and high risk. They said the fire started in the front of the Apartment Building and quickly spread to the back. San jose fire Officials Say the call came in just after bit late. The twostory, eight unit Apartment Building was on fire and they feared people couldve been inside. The fire was upgraded to a 3 alarm and firefighters first went into rescue mode these are the ones that scare the fire service because we are concerned about citizen safety. Thank goodness we had Good Samaritans helping get people out. My uncle, he left us at his van. He came back and started knocking on windows and getting fire extinguishers and trying to calm the flames down. Before the firefighters came coming he made sure that everyone was out. Reporter 16 people are now displaced including 5 children. Luckily, no one was injured. Firefighters had to knock down the fire within an hour. Officials say they believe the fire started in either the first or second floor unit in the front left of the building. We do still have fire crews on the scene. They say they are securing the property, making sure the apartments that were not affected are boarded up. They were allowing some people in some Apartment Units to get back inside to collect some of their things. The people that are displaced are going to hotels provided by the red cross. Thank you for the update. After a standoff that lasted several hours, Santa Rosa Police arrested a man accused of an attempted Armed Robbery. The standup started before 2 pm near dutton avenue and funston drive. A shelter in place order was issued after police got a report of an armed man in a home. The s. W. A. T. Team surrounded the home. Police spent several hours trying to get him to come out. Investigators say he was involved in an attempted Armed Robbery at a Convenience Store on tuesday. The standoff ended peacefully just after 8 pm when the man surrendered. And update on the Southern California mudslides. Authorities are racing against time and Santa Barbara county, desperately searching for anyone who could be trapped by the mudslides. At least 17 were killed. As many as 43 others are still officially listed as missing. All of montecito was declared a mandatory evacuation zone. This order could be in effect for the next week. The army corps of engineers is sending in more than 100 vehicles to help with relief efforts. There was severe flooding in burbank as well. Look at this.
