Authorities are searching for two inmates who escaped after a Court Appearance in palo alto yesterday. The two men are charged with Armed Robbery of a Verizon Store in february. The investigators say that the two got out of the their restraints and ran from the deputy who was escorting them. They say that the get away car was waiting for them which was just a few blocks away. They exchanged for a uhaul cargo van. A key to unlock handcuffs was found on the ground outside the court building. It speaks to the level of planning of these inmates and how brazen and what they would be willing to do to avoid the courts. The sheriff said its focused on finding them but they will also check their policies to make sure it doesnt happen again. A Science Teacher in walnut creek due in court facing several counts of Sexual Assault involving two children. Michael bartel of martinez was put on administrative leave. This case doesnt involve his students but reportedly it involves two minors from martinez. The charges include offenses against a child under the age of ten of arranging to meet a minor for sex and possessing child porn. Bail set at 16 million. In San Francisco, meantime an expert testified at the trial of the man accused of the shooting of kate steinley.
