But today he will find out his fate. Lets get right to the video on how we got here. It actually started back on october 28th of 2022. When david de pap went to the pelosi is home in San Francisco. He was looking for then speaker of the house, nancy pelosi saying that he wanted to talk to her and if she lied, he would have broken her kneecaps. But instead, paul pelosi was the only one home. He ended up calling the Police Department when officers arrived. Body cam footage shows that david de pap actually hit paul pelosi 3 times on the head with a hammer. He suffered a fractured skull, actually woke up in a pool of his own blood. The pap was a rested. Now, prosecutors say during this whole trial, but he never showed remorse that he was actually bragging about the attack. He was convicted of assaulting an immediate Family Member of a federal official as well as attempted kidnapping of a federal official. He faces up, as you mention to 50 years in prison. Prosecutors are looking for 40 years, which means by the time he gets out of prison, he will be 83 years old. This is just one front of his problems because state prosecutors also want to get him on charges. And thats the trial after this. And after that ice also wants him as well because he is actually canadian resident who came into the u. S. Back in 2008 on a sixmonth visa. He should have left the united states, but instead, obviously he has been here ever since to the point where he attacked paul pelosi. Police have not released any details now about the person who died but all lanes of the highway eastbound exit to grand avenue were closed due to that crash. The driver took off and police have been looking ever since. We do not have a description of the vehicle yet. Turning to another big story this morning, propalestinian protesters may now be facing a number of new charges. Had demonstrators were arrested last night after authorities broke or broke it up because they went into a vacant building. At uc berkeley and these protesters occupied a kron fours. Officers had just cleared out another group of protesters who are occupying the abandoned space thursday night. At least a dozen of those people were taken away in handcuffs. Theyre now possibly facing charges of vandalism, trespassing and destruction of property. Just a day earlier, police had called the takeover of the vacant building a crime scene. Beyond the police barriers, people chanted to free palestine, a recent graduate of uc berkeley says hes all for the protests but was not fully on board with this occupation. Well keep you updated meanwhile, a man who was hit and killed by suspected drunk driver in fremont earlier this month has been identified. Its been identified as 26 yearold tony la of oakland. He was hit and killed on may 3rd on fremont boulevard. The driver who hit him was from sunnyvale. They crashed into a traffic pole and was arrested for suspected dui. Now the victims family has put together a gofundme page to cover funeral costs. He leaves behind his pregnant wife and 3 children. This is the first traffic fatality in fremont this year. Time now is 6. 34 and now we know the identity of the man who was killed riding an ebike in hayward. 22 yearold say rahm, a gala poly was riding an ebike on may 8th near mission boulevard when he was struck by a vehicle and taken to the hospital. He ended up passing away 2 days after that, he was a graduate student from india pursuing his masters degree in Computer Science at cal state east bay. And this is the 4th fatal collision in hayward this year. Former workers of Oakland Hotel are going to rally today demanding Wage Compensation from their former employer. Last october, Radisson Hotel committed. They say wage theft against 120 workers and they withheld 400 1000. This is according to the oakland, department of workplace and employment standards.
