He is the oldest president to be in office is age has been a concern for many voters. So much so lot of people are watching just to see how hed handle the pressure. Yeah, its one of the things the kron fours Catherine Heenan talked about with our panel of political analysts tonight. She live in the newsroom right now with what they had to some biden supporters say tonight the fact the president did just come out and openly reference the buzz about his age was probably a good thing. Quite be coy. Meantime, the first question for our panelists tonight, how did the president do . A lot of people said it could end up being the political speech of his life. Think there are 2 tests for the president won the delivery test. You know what he stutter. Hes been battling that, you know, since he was a child, would he actually deliver . What does that remarks look like . And then is the future focused or is he just laying out a litany of accomplishments to try to do a sales job . I think he did a pretty good job of being futurefocused. We are in a contentious period. He has to both lay out a laundry list. But at the same time do that in the delivery. That you know, is low energy or anything like that. He has to like really move forward. And he came into the room gangbusters ready to do that. He and his team have to be happy with what they accomplish tonight. This was a moment in time where joe biden could love with a performance where he the part that people say that he is which is to will and that didnt happen as someone been involved with politics for decades. I from the day when we can get president who could actually give a speech. And quite honestly, the last 2 of them are not good. Its these faking it or ticket gave a rating of obama because he spent the virtually yelling at people. But i agree that his side is very happy tonight because this wont come off. Has he has . He failed in his mission to look at our i biden so tonight that that manna spoke tonight, the state of the union. Well be very difficult for donald trump to he hit every market. He wanted to hit. I think the only thing he missed on really was appealing to nikki independent voters. But otherwise, i hope i look like that and act and can articulate myself like that 81 years ld that old and im still trying to figure out why the young such a good thing for being foot for president. What would be in 65 do that . 81 cant do. I donald trump is in trouble. Thats my take away from tonight is that donald trump is in trouble. Biden has enough energy for the next 8 months to to win the office. Not people. Sometimes forget biden has spent a lot more time on capitol hill that the white house more than i35 years for member in the u. S. Senate. The mayor also outlined her plans to revitalize downtown. She wants to attract new businesses and wants to add housing. The speech comes as she prepares to ask voters for anotr term. They breed is currently facing 3 challengers in the upcoming election. A former San Francisco mayor and supervisor mark farrell, a current city supervisor off it and philanthropist daniel lurie, all 3 spoke with kron 4 today giving their reaction to the mayors state of the city address. Some fresno bello joins us live in studio with their remarks. Noel. Ken and vicki mayor breed was optimistic about recent moves made by her office and by voters to improve quality of life in San Francisco. But these 3 candidates looking to take her spot come november. Were not buying that optimism. All 3, essentially saying the mayor spent her time painting a pretty picture of the city. But these changes are coming too little too late. Mark farrell saying people across San Francisco felt better off when he left office in 2018 and he sees the voters supporting propositions e and f as a sign they want something different. Tuesdays election was continue sign of momentum here in the city of San Francisco of common sense and a return to basics. It started a few years ago with a recall District Attorney and Brooke Jenkins taking office is doing an amazing job and continue with the school board recall. And now on tuesdays election, the electorate has changed. They want. Leadership inside of city hall. They want someone to come in and turn our city back around. Farrell mentioned as fpd having lost 25 of its officers, which is something current supervisor ahsha stuff it mentioned as well. He also said while the city might be on a rebound, he felt breed speech today missed the mark. So the glaring miss for me was there wasnt a conversation about how were going to make San Francisco more livable and affordable for all San Francisco families. It wasnt a conversation about working families. Frontline workers and how theyre struggling in. The mayor mentioned teachers, nurses, firefighters, but she didnt say theres thousands of vacancies within those department. The final candidate, philanthropist daniel lurie says he didnt hear any new ideas or approaches today from the mayor. Mayor laurie is the only person running from outside what he calls a failed system. And while the mayor may be tired of the negativity towards the city, laurie says hes tired too. Im tired of the excuses and the finger pointing instead of Accountable Leadership and getting meaningful results. This is not a crisis of resources with a 14. 6 billion dollar budget. This is a crisis of leadership. We all know this and and so i am incredibly optimistic. The best days of our city are ahead of us. But its going to require leadership from outside of that building. Overall, the 3 candidates agree change is beginning, but none were buying. What breed was necessarily selling today. Can vicki noelle, thank you. The pilots there say the rider pedals which control the rotation of the plane got stuck as they roll down the runway. It is currently 45 and cool in half moon bay. 47, its number 46 right now an app and 49 degrees in concord. You can see the storm clouds still moving through Southern California. Couple leftover snow flurries in the southern Sierra Nevada as well. But things clearing out now as High Pressure really settling in. But its only going to be a quick hitter just here for the day tomorrow. And then after that kind of scoots out of town and weve got that next front off the coastline start to move.
