Reports of a man brandishing a knife. They try to deal with that situation at that location. But they say the man jumped into a car, took off that resulted in a pursuit. And during the pursuit, they say the man got out fired shots at deputies hitting for them before hopping back into his car. Taking off from the scene. But not before a sheriffs deputies returned fire on him. He ultimately crashed and died. They dont know if he died from gunfire or because he crashed his car and hit say, for example, a poll thats still part of the investigation, whether he was hit or not by the deputies. As pfar as the deputies, we do know that one was hit in the head critical but stable condition. 3 others, one was hit in the hand. 2 others in the leg at this particular point. The suspects name not being released to the public, but this area stony point road, you can see, as i mentioned, more officers arriving to the scene. Heres another one for you. Theyre not allowing anybody to go beyond belleview avenue. You have to make a left turn and go around this area and look at how big this scene is right here. Just on the other side. Presume that car is still at the scene because they say this is where the crash happened between bellevue and todd. And this scene has been closed down. Well, 4 deputies were shot. One was shot in the head, critical but stable condition. Meanwhile, this scene still very much active. Ill step out of the way. As far as the suspects identity not be released to the public at this time. And because its the deputy, the Sonoma County sheriffs deputies, they were involved. This is being handled just because they wont be any conflict of interest from the department itself. They are turning this over to the Santa Rosa Police department to do the investigation. They are allowing people stuck in between these 2 areas to leave their house, but they are not allowed to go any further than this point because clearly and you can santa rosa fire department. Personnel being told to make a left turn at this scene is a very much active scene and they need the scene altogether all day, possibly as they continue with their investigation. Back to you.
