Well, ambulance rushed her to the hospital, tried to save her life and her babys life. She would ultimately die. But they did do an emergency c section to try to save the babys life and that baby was alive until last night will be heard. The news making it even more tragic family and friends. Every time ive come, dozens of people gathering near the crime scene tape tuesday afternoon, crying and hugging one another after hearing a member of their community was shot and killed around one san leandro. Well, 9. 30, oakland is getting closer to establishing the citys first lgbtq cultural district. A neighborhood City Councils Life Enrichment Committee approved the plan for the new district this week. And its an idea the Lgbtq Community is pretty excited about. Yeah, they say its long overdue. Kron fours dan thorn takes a closer look. Its something the city of oakland has never had before. This area between the grand lake and lake shore neighborhoods could be the first cultural district for the Lgbtq Community. Excited. Im big on its and this is this is historic. This is historic. Some overwhelmed oakland needs. Its own. On say spaces, cultural districts, far Lgbtq Community. And thats whats happening now. The cofounders of oaklands Lgbtq Community center say an official designation would solidify what already exists in the area. Run bars, restaurants and other businesses as well as the center itself can be found in the lakeshore area. Joe hawkins says San Francisco gets a lot of attention for lgbtq culture, but its just as important in oakland and it shouldnt be lost on people either that oakland our Lgbtq Community centers founded my black people it is one of the in the state. Its not the only one founded by black people. Community leaders also say recent anti drag an antitrans legislation as well as increased attacks on lgbtq rights across the country. Show a known safe space is needed in oakland in general. We want to space that we can say this is our and we bring everybody together. With allies and people who are friendly. And in the east bay walnut creek, police are investigating more robberies as businesses there say theyre seeing an uptick in crime, a particular place thats been hit fairly often recently as Broadway Plaza. Fact, just last week, lululemon was taken for thousands of dollars. Police were able to quickly catch the suspects involved in that case. But that wasnt the situation. That wasnt the case in other instances. Fact, a few hours after the lululemon incident, police say that 2 people robbed couple at gunpoint after leaving dinner on locust street and botelho drive. And then 3 weeks ago, the louis baton location there, Broadway Plaza made headlines after 15 people drove a car through the window to get inside and then they stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandise. We talk some of the employees there, Broadway Plaza and they say this has gotten pretty worried. Youre careful. And walking to your car, youre careful effects with traffic. And after we have and everybody that came into the store was talking about it. Yeah. And then a day after that dolls hanging outside of saratoga, high. The sheriffs hate crime unit identified 3 suspects in the case and a juvenile male suspect. One person has been arrested on suspicion of 3 felony counts of terrorism by symbol. Investigation is still ongoing. The medical examiners just identified the motorcyclist who died in a crash on highway 101, in palo alto. The crash happened saturday. Melvin Alfredo Torres gus men was riding his motorcycle on highway 101 just north of san antonio road. It was to 40 in the morning. And he ran into the rear of a car that caused him to go flying and run into another car. The drivers of the cars werent hurt, but he was killed. Well, the identities of 2 inmates who were found dead at maguire correctional facility have been now identified publicly. Peter Edward Mclaughlin and Ronald Simmons were both found dead in 2 separate instances a day apart from each other. Mclaughlin was found dead in his cell early friday morning. He was discovered during an hourly check. The initial investigation from the Sheriffs Department is. Ruling this as a likely death by natural causes, although full investigation is currently underway, simmons was found unresponsive on saturday in another cell in jails, Behavioral Health unit. That death was initially ruled as a suicide. But again, a full investigation is underway there as well.
