It will clear really quickly, we do have dense fog advisories issued by the National Weather service for oliver north bay valleys until 10 00am this morning. So at least another solid hour with it for many spots. Our current temperatures are mild in the 50s to 60s oakland, alameda Mountain View at 61 while San Francisco. Also at 61, some 50s up in the north bay. Well see increased clearing by late morning into noontime, much clear skies. And by the afternoon the fog will be a distant memory. They plan to highlight issues like accountability, crime, Small Business loss, Public Safety, murder rates, spending and policing before heading over to the mayors address. Now, she may already be planning to discuss some of those issues, but they say the highest on their list is the firing of former Oakland Police chief leronne armstrong. The district is currently in negotiations with several unions, overworked contracts. And sausalito teachers in the north bay are another step towards the strike. Theyll be installing these cameras over the next 5 years in San Francisco, san jose. And in oakland and there are some people who are upset about it. A ground force. Tiffany justice case, a closer look. This will save lives without a doubt. 3 bay area cities will be putting in place. Speak cameras as part of a new pilot program. San francisco, oakland, san jose, the 3 bay area cities are part of 6 california cities including la glendale and long beach. The city of San Francisco has committed to have the program up and running by 2025 and will have 33 cameras in total. They can only be on streets that are in school zones or or our streets that have shown very high crash rates walk San Francisco who is in favor of the speed cameras say they understand the privacy concerns but believe this bill was tailored to address those concerns. The bill was crafted so carefully because of those privacy concerns. And its, you know, these cameras, they only take a picture if you are going more than 11 miles above the speed limit. Its only a photo of the license plate. That is not in the polices. And its in the transportation departments hands. And then theres a very limited amount of time they came hold on to that data. But not all groups are for this move. The nonprofit called oakland privacy has concerns about privacy inequity. And to privacy advocates. Were always concerned when cities pickup sort of a new tranche of peoples personal information that theyre keeping certainly here in oakland. We know all about the government being. Happ oakland, mayor sheng thao releasing this statement saying Assembly Bill 6. 45 will allow oakland to utilize cameras to enforce speed limits while ensuring the privacy and safety of our residents. For the corner for Contra Costa County will be holding an inquest into the shooting death of a man by oakley police. It was on august 22nd of last year that officers were in a standoff with 58 yearold frank at the or of oakland. He was holed up in his house after his girlfriend called police to say that he was armed and threatening to shoot them both after she escaped korea opened fire on police. One officer fired back striking and killing him. This weeks inquest which will happen friday at the Wakefield Taylor courthouse in martinez is required any time and officers involved in a fatal shooting. In the south bay. The Santa Clara Sheriffs Office now investigating a homicide after a womans body was found on the side of the road in san jose. Deputies were called to Mount Pleasant road and valley ridge lane after a woman was found unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead there at the scene. This is an active investigation. Police arrested a man for speeding and they found a loaded gun and a concealed gun actually and some bullets as well. And that broke the glass to hurt the person. They drove themselves to the hospital and nobody has been arrested. Theyre still investigating what happened. Well, San Mateo County supervisor david canepa is set to introduce legislation to help revive broad moores Police Department. Supervisor can app is expected to introduce a bill that would bring in about 750,000 into a rescue plan to help support the departments financial crisis. The plant is set to be voted on by the board of supervisors at about 1 oclock today, the departments financial crisis was previously addressed by can at the back in august. A person was struck by a car on highway 1, in redwood city last night. This person ran from the right shoulder of the highway across all the northbound lanes near the maple street overcrossing. Well, fire crews were able to contain a house fire in daly city. They responded to this fire on gellert boulevard at about 7 oclock last night was in the ceremony neighborhood. And you can see the front of this home was charred by that fire. Crews say there was a car parked in the driveway that appears to have caught fire and then spread to the garage. Nobody was hurt. 2 people, though, were displaced. Fire Officials Say was a broken few line. They think from that car outside that potentially sparked the fire. Its 9. 37. And another developing story that were following. Sunnyvale police are investigating that citys first homicide of the year. Police say it was 2 women who are sitting in a car that were shot. One of them died. Police later found the shooter with a selfinflicted gunshot wound. Kron 4 Sarah Stinson has the latest. Neighbors say theyre shaken up. They did not expect Something Like this to happen in their normally safe neighborhood and same with police. They havent investigated a homicide since 2021. Its extremely shocking because stuff like that doesnt happen here. A tragic scene unfolding in this quiet sunnyvale neighborhood around 5. 30, monday morning. Neighbors called 911 reporting screaming and gunshots coming from a home on care. Strike the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety says when officers arrived, they found 2 women shot in the car outside the home. Tragically, one of victims did not survive. The other victim was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital for treatment. Police say the woman is expected to recover. She was able to tell officers the name of the man who shot them and what kind of car he drove off shortly after police tried to pull over the suspected shooter, but he fled leading to a pursuit, but it ended after they lost sight of him. Less than an hour later, Santa Clara County sheriffs deputies found the man in his car of Stevens Canyon road in cupertino. They followed him for a short while. And then lost sight of him. But i did find the suspect again, his vehicle was parked. The suspect was located in the vehicle deceased what appeared to be a selfinflicted gunshot wound.
