The citys attorney charge santos de rosa with murder Second Degree robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. Well, 4 Sarah Stinson has reaction from community members. I spoke with a man who lives in the richmond district. He says the community there is relieved the man accused of killing yohannes to wall d is off the streets and everyone is hopeful justice will be served. Its been 2 months since the death of a clerk of a shop in San Franciscos richmond district. 6 yearold johan us to aldi was beaten with a baseball bat when he tried to stop a shoplifter. He did not get to go home because somebody decided not only that they would steal from the store. But that what they were taking was worth his life. San francisco District AttorneyBrooke Jenkins announced charges against 22 yearold santos de la rosa, who was arrested in hollister on wednesday. De la rosa was arraigned on thursday where a judge denied him bail after the das office called de la rosa a risk to public safety. The main perpetrator was caught. And off and hes off the streets. I mean, frankly, was giving a lot of the residents here are just a lot of discomfort to know. He was still out there. Drew men attended the arraignment of de la rosa. He also helped make a go fund me page for the family as they grieve the loss of to wall d. The main breadwinner of the family. He upstanding he was incredibly hard working and its very evident by. By the incident itself that he was trying to defend a store that wasnt even you know, it was he was he was serving as a clerk. The criminal complaint filed by the da alleges de la rosa attacked the shop keeper as he was trying to steal 2 cans of beer after the beating. The complaint alleges de la rosa threw the bat at a second victim in the store and ran into a getaway car. The driver has yet to be caught. Men says justice will only be served when everyone involved is held accountable. Look for seeing the end of this when and how justice will be delivered. Recently, San Francisco received money from the federal government to combat retail crime. Well, in the east bay, a man was arrested for stabbing animal park home in union city. Police say one person is dead and 2 others were hurt. It happened yesterday morning at the tropics. Mobile park home right on din boulevard. So just irving and a little frightening heard that there was some kind of altercation. A couple of people got stabbed. When police arrive, they say they found 3 people were hurt. One of those victims died at the scene and police say they arrested him and him Carlos Hernandez in Mountain View hours later, tell us they are still investigating a motive. On the peninsula. 5 people, including a teenager were all arrested in connection to an attempted stabbing in san mateo. So police say that victim was waiting at a bus stop in front of the wells fargo, the Hillsdale Shopping Center when he was surrounded by the group on wednesday. They say the 5 men punched the victim while one of them pulled out a night victim ultimately was able to escape and Call Police Officers arrived quickly and they were able to detain the 5 people. All of the south bay, a dozen migrants, including 5 children, were bused and dropped off in san jose. Santa clara immigration Officials Say they were dropped off in the city saturday night from el paso. Authorities say they were on the streets for several days until a neighbor called a nonprofit. Migrants are now in a temporary shelter. Kaiser employees continue to picket outside of hospitals. They are asking for higher wages and they want to bring attention to staffing shortages. In a letter to mayor thao, they believe the adoption of these cameras use state funds will actually help fight the increase retail residential and commercial theft in crime in oakland. They continue to say that technology can help fill the gaps and the size of the Oakland Police department. Thats there. They also state that they can be used to locate stolen cars. Well, developing news, prosecutors say that the 2 yearold who was pulled from a bathtub in rodeo earlier this week. Do not infect drowned but died from abuse. They also say theres a second child was abused in that home, suffer lifethreatening injuries. Investigators found the children around 9 monday night after getting a report of a toddler drowning. The child was taken to a hospital to that did not survive destiny. Deboe into shot haywood are charged with murder, child abuse and torture. Theyre each being held on a Million Dollars bail. But we actually dont hold on to this heat forever today. Tomorrow into saturday, were going to continue to be warm to hot out there. But a cool low pressure area, actually a series of to low pressures dropping in next week in making for the return of that cool fall feel and even a chance of showers come monday of next week. Happening now, it is now day 3 of the Kaiser Health care workers strike. Weve got thousands of employees across the nation are participating. Of Michael Thomas live in santa clara with the very latest. Good morning, michael. Hi, good morning, everyone. This is the 3rd and final day of this strike that was set. And again, were talking nationwide. Thousands of workers just walking off the job all asking for better pay better staffing, multiple different things. Take a look. This is video that we have from earlier this week. This is in walnut creek and this scene is really happening across the nation over in walnut creek. There were 900 workers picketing both wednesday and thursday and nationwide. That number is 75,000 all protesting . Unfair labor practices in asking for better pay better staffing in performance bonuses. This includes locations in washington, oregon, colorado, maryland, virginia, d c right here in california. It 60,000 workers with 20,000 in the bay area, these contracts expired last weekend and workers say they want to 67 pay raise in the first year, a fouryear contract and at least a 25 minimum for all healthcare workers in this union. Kaiser says its currently offering 23 an hour in california at 21 outside of california. And it and its been keeping different promises. They say when it comes to hiring 10,000 people that are part of the new coalition and represented employees. He said that they did so before that goal, which was set for december there 3 months early on that adding another quote, telling us we will coordinate with Coalition Leaders too reconvene barking as soon as possible. We will work hard to reach an agreement so that together we can all return to delivering the mission of Kaiser Permanente. They go on to say that they continue to bargain in good will currently right now Emergency Rooms and hospitals remain open with outsourced workers being brought into different locations, but not urgent procedures and appointments may need to be rescheduled. You also may see some longer wait times and hold times depending on where it is. You are and what it is. Their staff is looking like that back out here live. Close friends identified him as 52 yearold felix lewis nuys. They say he was a popular foil kite surfer now nice went missing on october. First of wildcat beach, his friends tell police they saw a shark in that area along with some blood in the water where that victim disappear. Officials say nice is presumed dead and they are now calling the search and recovery effort. All right. In the east bay, oakland, police say the act of vandalism on lgbtq bar. Oakland. Not suggest a hate crime. Owner is saying otherwise. This is the aftermath of the poor bar. This is right broadway and Thomas Elbert the way its really close to lake merritt. Police say someone threw rocks at the bar, shattering the windows. They say there are no known threats or issues to suggest a hate crime. But Sean Sullivan has the owner of the bar. They say the incident was clearly targeted Council MemberRebecca Kaplan released a statement saying, quote, while we do know the motivations of this attack targeted violence against lgbtq people and places is rising. Meanwhile, sullivan is set up a gofundme to help raise funds to repair that already surpassed their goal of 10,000. That investigation is still ongoing. I love the firefighters have stopped the progress of the 3 acre brush fire near fairfax. Blaze was reported just before 10 00pm and the 1000 block of bolinas road right near mezcla.
