And thats potentially just the tip of the iceberg. Well, yeah, because theres no communications really. They have like 1000 people listed as missing, but theyre just unable to be able. They are to know where they are. And then some people are saying theyre upset because the Emergency Warning System did not even though you know, this happened so fast and in the middle of the night, you know, they wanted more warning, though, crawfords Michael Thomas live in the newsroom following when that part of the story, michael. And according to hawaiis Emergency Management records, theres no indication that the warning sirens went off at all or were even triggered. Keep in mind, hawaii has bragged about its outdoor all hazard Public Safety Warning System describing it as the largest in integrated in the world. About 400 sirens across the island. And its supposed to warn people for situations like this, but it never went off. And Officials Say instead emergency Text Messages were sent out along with tv and radio warnings. But keep in mind, the power there went out shortly after the fire started and sell signal is still spotty. Today. People say they just look for shelter anywhere they could. And that included in the ocean as they watch their homes in the city. They know and love burned to the ground. Saw before we it was going on. What caused a San Francisco bound flight to nearly plunge into the pacific after it took off from maui. This happened back in december. And investigators just now the ntsb are saying what happened. So theyve investigated. And heres what happened after taking off. It heavily raining in maui at the time. The captain asked the copilot to reset the wing flaps, but the co pilot. Misheard. Exactly what was said and set the flap to the wrong setting, which made that mistake, which made the plane pitch downward, started accelerating in just 10 seconds. The plane dropped more than 10,000 feet before the pilots were able to regain control. Thankfully they did. And nobody, 270 passengers and crew on board. Theyre all fine. And the plane resumed its flight and to San Francisco, the faa says that the pilots reported this incident immediately themselves. Appropriate action was taken and both pilots are still flying for united airlines. New this morning. Police in hillsborough are warning people there are Mountain Lions that have been spotted. San franciscans who attended city college within the last 5 years are getting their debts erased using taxpayer dollars. Meantime, another federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program is in legal trouble this morning. An Appeals Court in texas has blocked the Biden Administration rule to help out students who claim they were misled and defrauded by forprofit schools. The Biden Administration already approved roughly 13 billion dollars in Debt Forgiveness for defrauded students about half have already had their debts cleared in the lawsuit, though, careered colleges argue that the rule change would cause financial and reputational harm to forprofit schools and they believe that this is an overreach of the executive branch. While the new standards are on hold during this legal battle, eligible students can still apply for forgiveness under the rules of the previous program. Federal data shows about 30 million americans are unable to pay their energy bills, but only if you are receiving the much needed help for their summer bills. The staff of Mount Diablo High School reported that a student was robbed at gunpoint yesterday on campus. And about 30 minutes later, the police found several teens in a Downtown Parking garage. They also identified one of them as a suspect and found multiple handguns. They also found several of those scenes were related to the robbery.
