Cant seeks its so dark home behind me in this corner has nearly down theyve been able to contain it in some way. But theyre still actively trying to fight this fire the trying to save homes of course all the people in this area have evacuated. And its an area where you just completely get turned around at this point. Down because theres 5 on both sides of the road and so they told me no going at your own risk, but this is a this pretty intense situation, obviously its dark out. You are seeing wind still regularly gusting anywhere from 15 to 25 Miles Per Hour in these are lower elevations here so it is a consistent steady wind mostly out of the northeast a pope valley saint helene a glen allen and santa rosa all pretty much in the same boat as far as those winds go and when you see winds as widespread and as regulators that you can share that once you head up into those Higher Elevations, winds are Even Stronger which as i just said to you. 45 to 50 mile per hour gusts have been reported around 4 to 500 feet. We a lot of this wildfire activity has been heres the good news, so winds are the breezy us right now they will begin backing off gradually through the day by the time we work our way into the afternoon look at this calistoga from very breezy this morning to some actually relatively calm conditions by the close of the day. So that is definitely exactly what we need to be seeing winds coming down and theres a bit of good news for you now unfortunately as winds do come down humiditys going to drop this afternoon so we already have very dry tender all that dry vegetation that this fire. Want and Rincon Valley area right now the Evacuation Orders that we have that went into effect last night. Work each of out of the road and both on the north and south side of highway 12 on the fire is continuing to burn actively. Would be a pretty extreme fire behavior and very erratic got the win. In and we do have a number of that have been both damaged and and right now the goal for those that are familiar with the areas to it from continuing to progress to the south and get into and it will stay part. Firefight i dont know if you can see how windy is also the trees right very very intense when the firefighters are dealing so thats going to make this fight even harder definitely scary to see these active flames within city limits in this neighborhood has recently fires that caught in the middle of basically nowhere where houses were far and few between but here were seeing houses this is a straightup neighborhood in Santa Rosa Mountain hop drive so theyre doing the best they can here to try and put it out i actually talked to a man stay behind hes not going to evacuate and he said hes hes trying to help the firefighters which of course is not recommended its not safe to stay behind so if you happen to be in the Fire Evacuation area i would recommend that you leave immediately because otherwise they get mail theyre going to concentrate their efforts rescuing you if this fire becomes out of control send it back to you guys in the newsroom and quickly do happen to know what the house number is of that house thats actually Still Standing that youre in front of im sure the homeowner would be thrilled to know are you able to catch that. The big breaking news this morning massive fires burning once more in the north bay, were looking at video from napa and sonoma counties these fastmoving flames of force now thousands of people to either evacuate their homes or be ready to evacuate as there are a number of evacuation warnings in effect. This is video from both the glass fire which is where this fire erupted initially in napa county but now in the overnight hours it has also sparked spot fires the pair of them in Sonoma County as well. Yeah jumping the line into the city of santa rosa, where are thousands of people. More have had to evacuate so. This is affecting a wide area and then theyre even more that are under evacuation warnings, packing their bags right now waking up. Getting ready to go at a moments notice these fires. 0 contain. Lets take a look at the map and this shows you the area that is burning east of saint helena and Calistoga Napa county and just east of santa rosa in Sonoma County. Of the fires the glass fire the originator of all of this is in the upper portion of your screen thats up in napa county. So thats a 25 miles east of seattle rosa and winds overnight have been blowing the embers from that fire down to the lower left sparking those 2 other fires that you see on your screen and that is what has the city of santa rosa now in jeopardy.
