Live camera to from Mount Jackson points to the west here you can see the smoke coming off the fires, theyre filling the valleys and also overhead firefighters do say that they have stopped the forward progress of the fire so at least theyve been able to accomplish that. Speaking of the fires more breaking news to our south military helicopters are attempting to rescue more than 60 people who are trapped in the creek fire burning in Fresno County. Now today will be their 3rd attempt to try and get these hikers out the rescue operation had to be called off last night because as you can see in this video the smoke just got too heavy and too dense for the helicopter crews. We have a picture of the hikers they seem to be doing in fact this photograph shows you theyre all hunker down right now at the vermilion. Campers and lake edison volunteers are helping them stay fed and hydrated as they wait to be rescued again theyre in good spirits for now because they are still a little bit of ways from the fire. So they still have some time. Heres a map that shows you the distance between the 2 on the left of your screen is the fire outlined in red and on the right of the screen that little lake there in the upper righthand corner cursor is pointing at the campsite there on lake at us and where theyre hunkering down there in the Sierra Nevada national forest. The hope again is that they could be rescued here sometime in the next few days because once the fire does com it doesnt leave much in its wake you can see that here in this video showing the damage of the creek fire. Its exploded to nearly a 144,000 acres after sparking on friday. Its still 0 contained the blaze has moved so quickly over the weekend that a trapped more than 200 people in Madera County alone National Guard helicopters again had to be brought in to airlift a number of them to safety. Well on that note, lets find out about the weather thats all part of our Team Coverage on this tuesday weve got john trouble standing by in the Weather Center with more on that john yeah james and we do have high fire danger today and its in part due to the heat that weve seen the past few days. And winds that are kicking up out of the northeast today. Cloudy skies and even a bit of a yellowish glow over much of the bay this morning that smoke sitting above us light passing through refracting blue light and what you get shining through is that yellow and oranges hayes looking thing so even though air quality is actually moderate for most of the bay area. Once you head up into Higher Elevations like areas out in the east bay in the Santa Cruz Mountains smoke is making contact with the ground and as that marine layer pulls out were likely to see poor air quality returning for much of the bay here in just a matter of time winds picking up today, sonoma Napa Petaluma some of our windy spots this morning, well continue to be windy. Well through the course of the day into tonight and into tomorrow thats high fire danger across much of the bay area paired with a very low humidity. Napa novato in youngsville low humidity, heat and strong winds. Not a good combination. Solano county under a are high red flag warning in high fire danger from now through wednesday as this will be one of our wind your spots, 50s and 60s for many of our current temperatures closer to the bay in coast. Were in the 70s for dublin while livermore in fairfield are warm spots in the 80s didnt get that coastal breeze last night in those areas, so you didnt get the overnight relief that a lot of the rest of us in the bay area got as for daytime highs later today live or more of a lay whole conquered an antioch back to the triple digits. Well 80s closer to the coast and 90s right along the bay. James all right john thank you new this morning businesses in marin county will not be able to reopen as planned. This Morning Health officials announced that they are pausing the reopening of businesses because the state. Is delaying the county from moving into tier 2 bryn county as a result will be staying in tier one, which means businesses affected could include things like Indoor Personal Care ServicesIndoor Dining and gyms movie theaters houses of worship indoor retail and malls. A final determination of marines tear standing is expected by the end of the week. Meanwhile happening today, students and 40 marin county schools will be among the first in the bay area to return to class for in Person Learning the class sizes of course will be limited and schools will have to follow new safety rules as well but theres already been a setback in with kron 4 Sarah Stinson live in marin county to explain whats going on sarah. James im live out now tabled High School One of 13 or one of 14 total schools in Warren County that can now teach in person classes. This is the first time students have been in the classroom since march, so its a big deal. Its the first day of school and it looks a lot different than it did. Back in the day who would it feels take a look at the tense they have here at no 10 up high school. Those are those Outdoor School classrooms and you see they have to get pretty creative and they had to create this and and create a plan to get the go ahead from the Marin County Health department the school has also purchased a generator in case the power gets shut off so theyre really prepared for anything here. As well as they hired new teachers to minimize class sizes parents dropped off their kids here with smiles on their faces originally them are in county Health Department reviewed and approved the waiver applications for 15 schools to reopen but last week when all the teachers were tested for the coronavirus one teachers test came back inconclusive that was a teacher from Bayside Martin luther king junior academy, the principal tells me the district pushed in Person Learning one week so they push it back as a precaution, even though the Health Department said they could still continue with reopening School Leaders say they spent months preparing for this day. They have arrows on the ground directing students where to go they have also reduce class sizes and separated desks inside the classroom. The principal says today is disappointed because theyre not seeing those kids in the classrooms as planned. I feel incredibly disappointed. Teachers are and staff are clearly feeling just really kind of disjointed and uncertain. Obviously that person feels bad because of the circumstances and the lack its really just frustrating because theres a lack of clarity about exactly what the status is. And because there was a lack of clarity we didnt want to put our kids or our families at risk so we decided to wait a week. So the students at martin are at Bayside Martin luther king junior academy, theyll return to school next monday. However, the 13 other marine county schools, they will continue on this 14th 14 rather other schools will continue on with in Person Learning today, the first schools in the bay area to do so theres 11 applications that are pending within the Marin County Health department and im sure all of the other schools will continue to submit their applications so they can get their students in the classroom, its a big day. I mean first day of school and its really going to be about trial and error even after taking all the precautions you saw the arrows the separation of the deaths you really just dont know thats what the principal told me hes like were trying to stay optimistic, but cautiously optimistic for now im live in Murray CountySarah Stinson kron 4 news ok sarah thank you very much for that and speaking of schools in the south but we have forest hill elementary. And for other schools in the Campbell UnionSchool District set to begin with theyre calling modified in person classes. The idea is to provide some extra help to the students who are struggling right now with Distance Learning so thats about to get underway today as well. Time now is 9 08 we have to take a quick break but still ahead chaos at the American Canyon walmart will tell you what sent customers running for safety. And were also keeping an eye on the markets this morning, the dow off by nearly 500 points. Coming up next winners and losers on wall street with financial expert rob black. And air quality is pretty good for most of us this morning we are seeing moderate conditions across most of the day. If youre looking up though youre seeing some yellow orange in the sky thats a layer of smoke above us thats going to settle back in to dont expect such good conditions into all right were back at 9. 11. We saw more large parties and busy beaches over the Labor Day Weekend just like we saw after the 4th of july and memorial day. Health officials are worried that this time around we could see another surge in covid19 cases if that wasnt bad enough of course, were also still trying to figure out how to safely return to kids to school. Nick watt takes a closer look. Is this the spark for another surge for this for this. Well find out in a few weeks things have stabilized things are much better, but we have seen as you mention spikes after a long weekend in part due to memorial day crowds celebrating the start of summer new case count soared from around 20,000 today, mid may to over 70,000 a little more than a month later and labor day. Were starting from a much higher baseline. I dont think it will take much to really bring us back up to 70,000. New cases a day. This weekend of course also marks the unofficial start of fame when people will be moving more indoors when infection risk rises and. People are exhausted thats another challenge trying to keep up our vigilance at a time when we know that this can spread more aggressively. Its also back to school time college is now in every single state dealing with outbreaks, 11 northeastern students just kickbacks in the entire semester without refunds after allegedly gathering in a hotel room. Keep them at the university in a place thats sequestered enough from the other students that dont have them go home because they could be spreading in their home state. 29 states right now seeing 5 in more tests coming back positive. A bad sign past few days west, virginia and north dakota seeing record infection rates missouri in puerto rico seeing record death tolls meanwhile as we near election day the president says weve turned the corner were going to a vaccine very soon maybe even before a very special day, you know what talking about i think the likelihood that were going to have a vaccine for widespread use in 2020 is extremely low at least 3 potential vaccine producers rivals reportedly now preparing a joint statement that they will not seek government approval until they know for sure. The vaccine is safe and effective this according to the wall street journal the fact were seeing the pharmaceutical companies sir protecting the u. S. Population from from the government is something ive never seen before. That was nick watt reporting for us this morning. All right, lets bring it back here into our studios in San Francisco talk with john travel about the Weather Forecast for today. It is a little well continues to be a little smoky and hazy out there. John yeah, this guy has a bit of a glow to it this morning despite what were breathing in at the surface being relatively clean air in areas like San Francisco and berkeley youre looking up at a layer of smoky air above the marine layer that pushed in overnight, so enjoy this cleaner air while weve got it because smoke is starting to settle back in. And as that marine layer burns off and scoots out towards the coast. Air quality is likely to deteriorate we already have bad conditions for inland areas and up into the santa cruz in the midst of a pretty big pattern change across the region that i think were going to like in the long term, but this change is not necessarily coming along with good news as far as fire danger goes a low pressure area and a dip in the jet stream is already resulting in snow and the northern and central rockies, were not getting the snow from it, but we are getting a strong north easterly flow that is going to be kicking up winds from the northeast across the bay. You know what that have what that does when we have dry conditions hot weather. The new ad wind on a fire danger only increases this morning weve seen the winds very windy very substantial in sonoma on up to calistoga down through fairfield out towards petaluma and santa rosa and conditions will remain windy for much of the rest of the day on into the tonight and into tomorrow with significant wind out of the north and east pushing out hot air into the northern part of the bay we do have increased fire danger, especially for Solano County which is under a red flag warning through the end of the day today and eventually into tomorrow, 25 to 40 Miles Per Hour wind gusts in Solano County as we make our way through the course of your tuesday into wednesday. Todays daytime highs in the 80s for much of San Francisco admission and financial districts back up close to 90 degrees. So even though were backing off the heat a little bit by no means are we cool were just not as hot as we once were burlingame at 92 degrees for the high today 90s in redwood city as well as down the Mountain View at 94, south bay temperatures fall from the triple digits yesterday in the days before that to just the 90s today cant believe im saying just the 90s livermore and pleasanton at a 100 degrees each while hayward at 93 oakland at 94, san ramon through conquered eventually into Solano County. Well up into the triple digits, pittsburgh at one 03 today so still hot, pretty easy to see why county is completely engulfed in a red flag warning with that very high fire danger. So as you step outside today and tomorrow please be mindful of that significant risk of rapid spreading fire, be careful about what activities you do. As for thursday and friday, heres the good news temperatures really cooling down inland areas only in the 80s bayside areas back to those comfortable 70s and were going to remain that way for the rest of the forecast even cooler come sunday and monday of next week. James all right looking forward to it thank you john. Time now for winners and losers on wall street financial expert rob black joining us is always to digest what were seeing in the headlines and rob. Oh we just lost rob try to reconnect in because theres a number of stories to talk first of all weve had this big selloff this morning for the dow and the nasdaq with tesla shares tumbling to they were included in the s and p on friday like a lot of people thought so trying to rob thoughts on that coming up in a bit. Heres where the dow is right now off 450 points. So certainly setting up to be a very down day on wall street, well be back with more in just a moment, stay with us to and were back at 9. 20 in the north bay an afternoon run the walmart turned into a terrifying situation for shoppers in American Canyon. A fist fight broke out inside and police say in the end one man pulled out what ended up being a bb gun kron fours michelle kingston has the story. They have officers with there inside the stores, rifles and guns out. Theyre not allowing us to go in a chaotic walmart in American Canyon is a fist fight going on with 2 men one with a mask and one. It didnt have a mask on and so i just went about my business and im whats getting my grossis bell of a sudden. There was this employees that was yelling and moving toward me and telling everyone to evacuate the store and then i just before or from exit. And being a split screen little kids were crying so its like ok, you know like what the heck is going blue sea korea had just pulled up to walmart when she noticed people running out of the store in cops with rifles running inside she recorded what was going on many telling her there were shots fired American Canyon police later confirming no one was shot, but that there was a fistfight and a 44 yearold man from alameda headed bb gun. He was arrested for the disturbance so long with his wife who police say was obstructing Officers Police say this was the mans bb gun later found in a trash can next to his car in the parking lot i was literally about to take my baby there. To just do regular shopping in think gotten any and its crazy how its gotten to this point where you cant even go to a regular store at 1 oclock in the afternoon and i have to worry about you know being in the middle of shooting in American Canyon, michelle kingston kron 4 news. In the car or anything. There a burglary that happened. Youve got to the description. Let me just make. I mean just make sure that youre not him okay. So you hear the exchange their play out a black man stopped by sheriffs deputies while he was jogging. In a predominantly white neighborhood in florida. Now police say he matched the description of a burglary suspect and that person is Joseph Griffin who you see there the end of handcuffing him. While the verified his identity in the end he was he live stream the whole thing on facebook as it was happening, but again once they determine that he wasnt the suspect they were looking for not only did they release him. But the Volusia CountySheriffs Office has since offered him a job. They want is a former military policeman by the way they want him to hes agreed to do it to train officers on how to de escalate situations similar to the one that was recorded here in the video. How about that. Are also in national news, we have 16 of the countrys largest School Districts begin classes today, but image in a majority of those districts, no students would actually be in the classrooms will be doing Distance Learning. It comes of course amid the continuing coronavirus pandemic and concerns about the fast approaching flu season. We have Diane Gallagher with a closer look. Its the first day of school for over 1. 8 Million Students but for those attending 14 of the nations 16 largest School Districts opening today. Classes will be held entirely online. The American Academy of pediatrics reported over 70,000 new cases in children over the 2 weeks ending august 27th. Thats an increase of 17 and while grade schools evaluate the safest way to begin the academic year. Some College Towns are already turning into coronavirus hotspots in upstate new york suny oneonta reported at least 651 cases since the start of the semester. And iowa state. At least 900 students tested positive since august 1st at the university of new hampshire, a cluster of cases has been linked to a Fraternity Party attended by more than 100 people. So were concerned about any other individuals who may have been attending events there or visiting their friends at this location. Just because we know that there have been at least 11 people have tested positive at risk why and why you says its suspended 20 plus students for violating the universitys health and safety guidelines. This as Health Experts fear celebrations in crowds every Labor Day Weekend. Could fuel another round of dangerous pikes a scene over memorial day and the 4th of july holidays. Were not in a sprint. Its very very important continue to have all that social distancing mask wearing avoiding large groups. Were all very concerned the behaviors this weekend will be an accelerant and spread covid virus even further. Flu is on the way that will double the danger. President trump once again implying a vaccine could be ready by november. So were going to a vaccine very soon maybe even before a very special day, you know what talking about. But Health Experts say there is no guarantee timeline emphasizing that delivering a safe and effective preventative is key. Really hopeful that we will have a vaccine. I need year under by early next year but the key thing about the process for getting a vaccine is that it has to be driven by science and scientists not by political or you know of critters are by political timelines. Well time now is 9. 25 well take a quick break but coming up we continue to follow breaking news as power shutoffs are taking place across parts of the bay area we have another day of triple digit heat expected in fact, heres a look ahead and what well expect later this afternoon our temperature map shows 100 plus degrees for places like the Livermore Valley communities around mount diablo the delta and up near as well with upper 90s for other valley locations so be careful out there. Weve got one more potential day of this some sort of Severe Weather ahead of us and then things gradually begin to cool down will get a more detailed look at the forecast with john trouble in the Weather Center coming up in just a moment it was just a get together with friends. No big deal. Everybody felt fine. But now im super sick. Everyone is sick. I just wish we had been more careful. It would have been easier than this. So wear a mask. Do what you can outside. Stay six feet apart. Because some things you just cant take back. Do your part to lower the risk. And we are back coming up on 9. 30 want to start off the half hour with a check of the forecast so handed over to john in the Weather Center with more on that last talk about john. Yes, definitely lot to be breaking down some good and some not so good weve enjoyed some fairly clear air quality right next to the bay and up the coast this morning. But if youre looking up you probably noticed the yellowish hue thats right above us you dont have to have very far up in this marine layer that has kept us actually pretty clear of smoke this morning is gradually deteriorating and a smoky layer above us is going to gradually be sinking down and replacing it that smoke being drifted our direction from the august complex burning to our north. We are seeing poor air quality and have been all morning for the interior of the bay or central our interior valleys as well as the north bay and the Santa Cruz Mountains very pour as compared to the moderate conditions that will temporarily continue to enjoy right along the bay itself dont expected to last all day. Unfortunately winds are picking up across the region to especially for the north bay. These winds pushing in from the northeast that is up fire danger along with the heat and the very low humidity in the same areas we do have a red flag warning in Solano County that will last through the day today on into tomorrow, so please be very careful about any Outdoor Activities that you do have today as you should note fire danger is extremist tuesday 60s and 70s for your current temperatures except for livermore in fairfield where the cool marine air never really got tia he didnt really cool down much overnight. Im talking more about the details of what to expect the rest of this week. Still ahead james all right, thank you john, so lets get back to the breaking news out of the north bay again pgd has started turning off power because of the high fire threat there. So lets show you a map that illustrates where the power is out right now and you want to pay particular attention to those purple triangles because that is where p g has cut off the power on purpose. And more shut offs could come in the next few hours as the Utility Company prepares for the high fire danger today, the utility started shutting off power in parts of 22 counties across california just before 11 oclock last night and they include the 3 bay area counties of napa sonoma and lake counties. Restoration not expected until about 7 oclock tomorrow night. At the earliest. And included in the breaking news. We have military helicopters once again attempting to rescue more than 60 people who are trapped in the creek fire in Fresno County. This is the 3rd attempt now to get those hikers the rescuers had to call off their attempts last night because the heavy smoke, the helicopter pilots as you can see in the video couldnt get through it. We also have pictures of the hikers themselves that are waiting to be rescued theyre sheltering right now at the vermilion valley camping resort. Thats at lake edison volunteers are helping them stay fed and hydrated until theyre rescued, you can see theyve got smiles on their faces theyre in good spirits for now and thats because they are a little ways away from the actual fire line. Heres a map that shows you exactly what were talking about on the left side is the red outline thats the perimeter of the fire itself the creek fire and then off to the right in the upper right hand corner you see that lake thats like edison and the curse ers right over the tip of it that is the camp where they are hunkered down right now waiting to be rescued. And here we have video of the damage from the creek fire. So far. Its exploded in size to nearly a 144,000 acres after erupting on friday, its still 0 contained right now and that blaze has moved so swiftly over this past weekend that attract more than 200 people in Madera CountyNational Guard helicopters were brought in to airlift them to safety. Joining us right now the very latest on the fire burning in Fresno County is alex with the Sierra National forest. Alex thank you so much for joining us this morning first off. Youre welcome glad to be here absolutely and i was so what is the latest, we know theres those hikers that are waiting to be rescued and i suspect there are there others as well that youre still searching for. There are we actually have i want to say 3 locations within the the one up in the top that you spoke of a few minutes ago. Is in the vermillion valley area by late get us in and florence lake. Those hikers are safe. They do have as you stated volunteers, i believe theres also a member of the Sheriffs Office there with them so that they have communication. Back down here in the valley area and theres 2 other locations the same saying that people are very very safe. They are working on plans to bring these people but as you stated the overnight and into the evening has been to the point that the pilots cant get up but they are in communication along with that picture you saw is seemingly in good spirits and and again we just want to emphasize that they are very safe i do have some Acreage Update for you that we got this morning the acreage is now at 143,000 acres. For one almost 144,001 43 9 to 9 and were still at 0. Containment we do have about a 1060 working this fire we have more resources on their way. And today at 7 oclock now theres a Incident Management Team thats come on board and that teams going to be operating in our what research to the north zone and the bash league Ranger District area. Thats the area that had the rescue the other day with e. California Army National a helicopter in the Amendment School area in and they were successful in rescuing 207 people. And we were just looking at some of the video that i believe you yourself shot showing us the fire lines and what they looked like overnight. Describe to everybody what that was like this fire is exploding in that you can give us a sense of what it was like when you are out there. I would actually love to take credit for shooting that video but that was actually shot by one of the Sierra NationalFire Management officers who is out there this morning. Im monitoring it and watching but i have near fire line and the fires burning very intense. You know we say that its unprecedented people always ask what happened you say that it just seems like the dynamic these days. The conditions on this forest. Its stream leave right for thats stations very receptive to this type of activity we are the epicenter of the beetle kill thats taking place in the tree mortality here in california. With over more than 33 Million Trees that are succumb to drought and the you know the bark beetle done so with that the location of the trees. High temperatures and low humidities that weve had recently have really played in the speed of this up when sepp canyon winds during the day down canning runs at night the fire behavior night almost behaves like it does during the day so. It is it is a difficult fire to get a handle on they are doing the best they can. There is an area our agency the 4 service along with cal fires been working to do whats referred to vegetation reduction to create a buffer zone so to speak for the areas around some of the communities that are up here and the fire is getting very close to that and there is a cautious optimism that that may hold the fire and that could be the beginning of our anchor point to a bigger success, but having these 2 teams working this fire. We have a state team with cal fire. And then we have federal team on the north zone between the 2 and their resources. We couldnt be in better and send were were really going to work hard to try to get this thing taken care of. You know we also have some video in the wake of some of these fires are burning in the creek fire some communities that have been destroyed homes as well and were seeing some of that video come out now can you talk a little bit more about some of the damage that youve witnessed in and again reiterate what numbers you know so far on that front. Im certainly i dont have a lot of do know that as youve seen in the picture now houses and homes. I would venture to guess that thats probably the community of big creek that were seeing. The number that weve been given so our offices, 65 structures has either damaged or destroyed. And that could be anywhere from a residents to an outbuilding are smaller structure. The number one of the reasons we dont have more numbers and information regarding this is because of the intensity of fire in areas where its still burning. The Damage Assessment teams that are here and waiting to get in there to to to look at this scene over they cant get there right now one because the fire still burning in a manner detriment to their safety. Also trees have fallen across and i mean a fire does an Amazing Things in the landscape and its burning but the trees down so theyll have to clear some of that area out clear the roads so that these teams can get in. And of course make sure that that their safety is a paramount. I mean first and foremost they have to be safe before they can go and to do the work they need to do. It typically can be done within the first couple of days are fired. But its probably going to be a little bit longer before they can really get in there safely to look over the damage and then our reports will much better coming in. And then lastly i know you say those campers that youre looking to rescue are safe for the time being but with the rate that this fire is growing with the winds that are expected to pick up is there a time factor that you guys are our push against is there urgency to get these folks out before too much time passes. Of course there is and that the the Fresno County sheriffs would be coordinating that effort to get them out. While we continue our to fight the fire. As far as the direction of the fire its its burning in a sort of but lots of burning on all but a lot of the activity where the big pushes are taking place are on the east flanks earning down shaver lake a little. On what we were tears the far lane the picture you see there was taken in an area called Mountain Rests near Mountain Rest until house road. Fires also burning in whats referred to as jose base in that area doesnt have a recent history of fire. So that is burning burning very it. Not necessarily to our liking of course and then along and bass lake its also burning to burning across Whiskey Ridge i think its come down off of Whiskey Ridge which has prompted a few evacuations on that side of the forest as but people where were getting people out safe and the ones that are still there or are being taken care of and we hope to get them out homes very good alex, thank you so much for sharing some of your time with us this morning out of your busy well let you get back to it but we appreciate you giving us. The very latest as you know at this morning. Certainly my pleasure have and were back at 9. 43 new this morning 9 Drug Companies have signed a letter pledging to completely finished testing on any vaccine before seeking federal approval of put them on the market. Now this comes as President Trump continues to bring up the possibility of having a vaccine before election day. The president s comments have had some doctors concerned the white house could put pressure on the fda to approve a vaccine. Before its fully tested to verify it safe and effective. Also making headlines. Screeching tires and gunfire. Still ahead, the deadly shooting in the area of an illegal sideshow in San Francisco thats being investigated this morning. Well have the full story straight ahead. Why do i love being a doctor at Kaiser Permanente . My only job is to take great care of my patients. Im empowered to do whats right for you. Our digital records mean your medical history is in one place, so i can give you great care. Your primary care doctor, your specialists. Its great we all Work Together as one team. Our integrated approach to health care helps my patients live longer, healthier lives. I dont just practice here, im a patient, too. I wouldnt trust my familys health care to anyone else. Welcome back as we made our way through the morning youve likely noticed that the skies dont look normalw is a yellow oranges glow above us regardless of where youre at this is walnut creek right now noticeably hazy noticeably yellow even or better air quality areas, youre noticing that tend to the skies. Well we did see some cool marine layer slipping in overnight. Those areas Still Holding on to some good air quality but not far above that better air quality is a layer of smoke that is drifting in by that northeasterly flow have been talking about right across the bay and the smoky conditions being seen all across the region are inland areas already in the midst of that smoke livermore san ramon conquer fairfield and then up into the Santa Cruz Mountains right up in the smoke and thats something that were likely to be seeing even in our bayside areas come later parts of the day today after that marine layer does burn off. Windy conditions, theres that northerly wind that i was talking about being pushed into the bay, not just resulting in smoky conditions for us but also going to be upping fire danger today, significant winds in sonoma callous toga santa rosa out was peak in napa and these winds will carry on into the afternoon evening tonight into tomorrow likely resulting in even more smoke from the august complex being pushed down into the bay so settle in for a smoky next couple of days high fire danger, especially for Solano County youre in the midst of some of the strongest of winds today also very low humidity and some of our hottest of temperatures. Winds as high as 25 to 40 Miles Per Hour means fire danger is high all across the bay area but especially in the north bay today. Todays daytime highs, not as hot as they have been, but im not going to say its a cooler day by any means. Were still in the midst of our heat wave with 70s and 80s right along the coastline and the 90s for a bayside cities like Millbrae Burlingame down from Mountain View at 94 today, south bay daytime highs out of the triple digits where you were yesterday and back into the 90s across the board san jose at 95 milpitas right there with you today while the east bay 90s to still in the triple digits for Pleasanton Livermore as well as san Ramon Danville walnut creek in concord oaklands 94 for your temperature today while the late show right at a 100 degrees fairfield that one o one in pittsburgh in the midst of that red flag warning at a 103 santa rosa through center fell also holding on to mid to upper 90s and in for another toasty day like weve seen so far the past few days tomorrow, temperatures do begins a cooldown we wont be in the triple digits for new years many areas and by thursday and friday as winds cool calm down temperatures cool off our inland areas only maxing out in the upper 80s to low 90s. So we do have some Better Weather to look forward to just definitely hold on for it and if you are stepping outside today know that fire danger is extreme so use extreme caution. James all right, thank you very much john and 9. 50 we have of this morning video to share with you of a sideshow that led to a deadly shooting in San Francisco. One man was killed 2 others were sent to the hospital with life threatening injuries. Take a quick look. You can hear the tires squealing in the distance and you can see the gridlock caused by this sideshow the shooting happened early yesterday morning just after midnight admission and persia streets the flying bullets had by standards ducking for cover one man who did want to show his face describes the chaos take a listen. Carson doing burnouts does it turn taking turns coming inside of eventually by 5 minutes into it. You get like 20 shots or everybody took off their you know is im not gonna lie. This is my first side show to be very close to north this its pretty scary. At least one weapon was found at the scene an arrest.
