We do know that 6 people actually had to be rescued over the weekend because they went back inside their homes and in the process they were fearful for their lives because of the conditions that fire the flames, the smoke and what not thats when they had to call the Fire Department in to rescue them, nobody was injured just a reminder dont go back into their homes at this time until they tell you its safe for them to escort you in to those areas as far as the fire. Favorable conditions, including the rising humidity. That has helped the firefighters make a little bit of progress. Obviously over the last 48 hours a lot of success. Its devastating to see all thats really left is rubble. And that is kind of the reality on walls creek road there some houses that have made but others that did not in this is what firefighters have been working so hard to avoid. But as we know across the napa sonoma lake in Solano County is its hard because theres 30,000 structures that are threatened already 871 have been destroyed in today. A red flag warning continues until about 5 oclock thunderstorms are still predicted throughout the day which could cause some erratic winds wind is not what we want because that will just pick that flame up and rage it towards the communities that theyre trying so hard to protect so. During the day and for now going on we did have some rain showers occurring overnight. Most of that is up to the north bay is now where its kind of bottled up for now not seeing much the way of lightning strikes that we like it gave us some rain showers overnight that we like also got some of that marine layer coming in overnight which is good to serve all the elements kind of work a little bit of our favor, however we do have little clear patch coming in and because of that theyre still has the potential for dry Lightning Development that means aloft will be a thunder shower occurring in the rain has to go to dry air and that can also cause even if we dont get any lightning. You can have a outflow boundaries develop and thats just the winds that are radack and thats not something we need to hear. So heres the Coverage Area Solano County is the only area not in this until 5 oclock speaking of those winds again youll notice the error directions pretty much coming in from the west. This flow pattern has all been from south to north that we have way out to see a little frontal boundary, its going to remain out there to provide a little bit of a month to get that on shore flow going a bit now well get that marine layer coming back again tomorrow a little stronger than we saw today. So thats good news to kind of moisten up conditions overnight into much of the bay area this is what were looking at. At the Golden Gate Bridge you can see the towers completely covered up in this fog even at this late hour. A check in the winds most locations are calm, theyll pick up a little bit today but some not the clean little bit of an onshore wind but were most concerned about is erratic winds developing because we have a very high level shower that may develop potentially want to show you those moisture levels back at the surface again now today conditions dry out we usually show this when we have this fire weather watches and so forth but usually the numbers are much lower than this all right thats today now overnight we get the nice recovery. On your left is the czu lightning complex and burned down homes and send the tail and Santa Cruz County on your right you can see damage from the lnu lightning complex which has forced thousands to evacuate in the north bay. Lets begin with a look at where the fires are burning across the bay area this morning take a look at your screen at the top as the lnu lightning complex fire which is the size burning more than 350,000 acres in total. The scu lightning complex in the east bay has scorched nearly 344,000 acres and contra costa Alameda Santa clara status, la and san joaquin counties and then at the bottom of the map is the czu august lightning complex fire in san mateo and Santa Cruz County. Our wildfire coverage continues in the east and south bays where you can see the map on your screen where the see where the scu lightning complex fires are burning now in alameda contra costa santa clara and san joaquin counties. Flames from those fires have burned more than 343,000 acres there is 10 containment this morning. 4 people have been hurt 5 structures destroyed and more than 20,000 other structures are being threatened kron fours dan thorn has the latest. Thousands have been forced to evacuate their homes in the eastern area of morgan hill. Fire continues to burn in the area of henry coe state park threatening several communities we saw lines of cars racing up to him coming back from their homes and jackson oaks holiday lake estates and along thomas grade people understandably on edge cars and trucks loaded up with anything people could grab. Evacuation orders were issued because of a change in weather including wind which had helped the fire spread or send embers into these areas most of these homes are in hilly rural terrain. Firefighters right now fighting the fire just east of these communities at 5 oclock on sunday police were forced to close the road along east dunn avenue and were turning people away from going up because of potential danger city officials saying staying behind is not worth the risk. As we look at whats happened in some of the other areas here in our state the past few years. Want to take a chance. Many of the evacuees worried about leaving their homes concerned that once they come back there might not be a house there anymore. A tactic. We are facing try to pack up all the pictures and stuff like that. Weve got to get going up their living in california. You know experiencing wildfires is certainly a obviously up where we live. Theyre in the hills police have continued to block residents from going back up into these areas, not only for their safety but to prevent other people from going up and stealing evacuees are being told to go to answer high school where there are Resources Available to people there and also to follow online at morgan hills City Government website where there will be more information on other orders and other warnings reporting in morgan hill dan thorn kron 4 news. Well to the north korea now the wood for fire in marine county has grown to nearly 2500 acres and is 5 contained. Flames continue to burn in a remote area of the Point Reyes National seashore the dense smoke is affecting moran and San Francisco counties, 3 firefighters were hurt, but theyre going to be ok and there are more than 1600 structures being threatened. Theyre trying to fight that wind thats going to come through here again because we have this Stormy Weather here thunderstorms still predicted throughout the day which could cause more erratic winds extreme fire behavior is expected within the existing fires, but the scary thing is. But theres potential for new fires to start because of this weather. Now at last check wall bridge fire in Sonoma County has burned. 54,000 acres and is only 5 contained so today. Hopefully they can really just fight that wind and get that under control. But the biggest concern is could this protecting the communities that surround here but theyve been doing since this terrain is so difficult is theyve been fighting fire with fire and theyve been making sure those fire lines are strong that way when that so when does come it just hold it there rather than spreading and continuing now stay tuned right here to the kron 00 04am morning news hopefully weekend. We could be concerned about this erratic winds because you get the outflow from that kind of a lot of shower going on and that evaporates and we dont get the rain out a bit but we get that cooler air that just blows on by so that can change the wind direction very very quickly from just the natural breeze that were getting in the afternoon hours. And being deployed right to the fire lines or in the local fire stations to help with everyday calls for service, 96 of the cal fire fire engines that we have assigned here in california which is over 350. We had a little line of some scattered rain showers move through without lightning incident for the most part basically coming from south to north the most of this is the part in the bay area for right now and leaving us and the kind of a clear patch for now but we did have some stronger marine layer coming in kind of filled up a lot of the bay area in the predawn hours before some with some fog that will be a little thicker going on tomorrow and thats going to penetrate further inland, it looks like tomorrow morning. Speaking of kind of those hazy smoky skies. This is what it looks like down around san jose state. Again battling through some of that smoke, lets get to that marine layer though thing okay we are out during the day today, heres what happens tonight. How about that tomorrow morning that far really penetrating on that looks like the central valley. Again dampening up conditions at the surface helping out a little bit that by this point that tropical air will probably moved out of here now and well be left with kind of those onshore winds a little bit so this is what we have in our backyard that raises the concern this is a very high level Thunder Showers and even if we dont get any strikes of lightning with and even just rain happening that high above it goes through dry air and thats the outflow that we really worry about kind of erratic winds. For morgan hill tri valley youve got the midnineties dublin 92 that union city to 83 hayward 84, heading up north well get some 70s here for richmond and berkeley. Meanwhile over the east bay hills, its more of those mid 90s from danville all the way up to concord and meanwhile for Solano County middle 90s up their delay hose at 80 to 84 benicia 85 for napa with 91 going on for sonoma and 89 for santa rosa more 80s heading down south.
