Parts of solano napa and sonoma counties we want to check in with kron fours will tran who is live this morning in vacaville with an update will. Along English Hills road we just got an update from cal fire the fire grew in the overnight hours. The l a new lightning complex fire as you can clearly see still smoldering at my location. Its gone up by 4,000 acres from 2. 15 to 219,000 acres little bit of good news its now 7 contained. Not a lot of course but well take it considering its a long battle, 7 containment is up in the overnight hours. You can clearly see the damage the destruction that it cause English Hills road is 10 miles from Pleasant Valley road which is where the media has been focusing for the past several days. But the fire driven by the winds and just the hillside. Actually jumped about 10 miles thats how far it is away from my location and along the way it destroyed at least 50 structures has caused for people to die. 4 people are injured the good news is we are not hearing of any firefighters injured or killed or even being treated for anything at this particular time. You can clearly see just how smoky the conditions are governor Gavin Newsome said that on the overnight hours on sunday 11,001 1000 lightning strikes so even though its still early they. Strongly speculating that this fire was caused by lightning it was in the Lake Berryessa area but it was marching towards this area which is about 15 miles away and then it was just being driven by the windy conditions the drier terrain that the people get that knock after the door by the Sheriffs Department to rush out there are checkpoints throughout this area so if youre watching me from an evacuation area and you need to get back to your house theyre not stopping people but theyre telling people to go inside grabbed her items and then leave which is why you dont see traffic through this area just the media and authorized personnel you can go get your items, especially now that you dont see the flames just extremely smoky. A lot of people had to rush out you can see over there look at that theres livestock theres a horse over there as well. So fortunately were not hearing a lot of horses and llamas and all the other animals being killed. But in the fleet to save their lives. Obviously they had no choice but to leave them behind. Temperatures were actually continuing to fall up here in the north bay we have the lower to middle 50s you can see 58 San Francisco east bay shoreline and mid 60s own and getting to the upper 60s as you head a little further inland 78 will do it by 11 00am by 2 were already up to about 90 and i mentioned earlier that were going to be seeing highs today. Still in the middle 90s, although thats an improvement from what we had earlier this week off to the distance you can see will be waiting for this to finally left its the hayes will not do maybe too much better than this because of all of this smog and haze that we have to contend with, but this is the live shot coming into the bay bridge toll plaza little bit more on your forecast coming up in just a bit robin. And now continuing our wildfire coverage in Solano County where the lnu the lightning complex fire continues to burn. Olivia degennaro from our sister station ktxl in sacramento is live in vacaville. She has this update for us olivia. Good morning. We actually just got new numbers from cal fire that the lnu lightning complex has grown to 219 acres. But we did get an update that its at 7 containment up from 0 so they had made a little bit of progress but they still have quite a bit of work cut out for them there on the front lines at the l a new lightning complex is made up of 7 different fires all sparked by lightning a couple nights ago and they have been absolutely devastating you can see this home that were standing in front of completely reduced to ash here. This is a big rural area a lot of Rolling Hills a lot of pastors and ranches and a lot of vegetation to burn unfortunately, we know so far at least 480 structures have been destroyed another 125 structures have been damaged and currently about 30,000 more are still threatened do we know this spans 5 different counties and there are still active evacuation orders in all of those counties Napa Sonoma Solano yolo counties all seeing evacuations in those evacuations are so widespread that if you live in this area or if youre curious to see if a loved one, you know is under evacuation, your best bet is just to go to the cal fire incident page. They are all listed out there and there are quite a few. There are also a lot of road closures right now because of the evacuations and were seeing a very heavy Law Enforcement presence a lot of roadblocks their screening who can come in and out of this area because if you take a look up here behind me you can see there are so many downed power lines too many to count this one broke off its hanging from the power lines weve seen other power lines across roadways. Weve seen them leaning against trees still smoldering so definitely a dangerous situation there as far as the fire activity to give you an idea of how large this is of course 219,000 acres is huge but picture Lake Berryessa and the fire has moved almost all the way around the lake today, we know the fire is aggressively pushing north to the north side of the lake and continuing to actively burdened spread so thats where firefighters are really focusing today. They say theyre expecting it to grow even more today because resources are the big story they have been completely strapped for resources. It looks like we lost the live use a feed their from vacaville but she where she was able to give us a good look at the situation there. And thanks a lot for that report. Robin. Well for folks who have not taken a peek outside theres lots of smoke, its just hovering over the bay area. So of course that impacts our air quality lets check in with david just see how friday shaping up and what the weather has in store for the weekend a a good morning robin good morning, everybody starting to see some light of day going on here at san jose state. But certainly the familiar haze in the sky get used to it will be with us all day around the bay going on here. Temperatures were a little cooler off to the north bay at the Sonoma County up to also moran and mid 50s own 58 San Francisco. Mid 60s for the east bay shoreline and up to 70 you can see for any aac where temperatures were actually a little bit on the cooler side when you go far inland because the drier air allow temperatures to fall were around the closer to the media bay temperatures were kind of retained a little bit of that front up to the north is providing the help to get that on shore flow pattern. Lets watch the moisture levels that it area later today, theres moisture levels fall thats typical we still have some of the warm moist air hanging around the coast. So its not too bad and then it recovers as you can see a little bit tonight into saturday morning. But most importantly we get into sunday night monday. This is sunday morning we might be treated as an effect thats completely different than that might be rain occurring on this monday night rather sunday night into monday morning. Thats something were going to be watching very carefully little closer to that all right, heres whats going on in future cast winds the uptick we see later on this afternoon. It seems to be focusing a little bit up here in the north bay with those heavier winds going on in portions of the peninsula as well but not real real heavy winds we like the direction we just dont like the wind intensity break in the day comes in like this have a decent day on tap for today by the standards of where weve been this weekend not much of a change again with some of that rain potential developing sunday night and watching out for some dry lightning as we get into monday morning as a potential forecast highs 74 San Francisco, oakland and 80 85 for san jose across the wider bay midnineties to be found on the far east bay up to the north bay still some 90s but at least were not looking at 100 plus 85 meanwhile to san jose one of the 4 zone forecast coming up for you a bit robin. Still ahead on the kron 4 morning news. We have complete coverage of all the wildfires raging across the bay area check this out this is video from cal fire of the seas eu august lightning complex fire. Marty we dont see the flames but we do know that it is chewing up land as we speak because in the overnight hours we have an update on the l a new lightning complex fire and actually grew by 4,000 acres. This morning. It is now 219,000 acres burned old. Good news. Now its 7 containment, so its not even halfway of course, but well take it considering 4 days it was sitting at 0 containment you can see its still smoldering here, look at the structures that went down new numbers to pass along as far as the structures and that could be a home that could be an outhouse that could be a farm in barn or rather i should say were sitting at 480 structures destroyed and more than 30,000 still threatened so obviously this battle continues. This is on English Hills road, this is 10 miles away from Pleasant Valley road where we were focusing for the past couple of days. But it jumped the hillside powered by the winds powered by the dry terrain and thats how he was able to leapfrog through this area started off in Lake Berryessa on sunday night and it is far from over and unfortunately if youre just joining us this morning. I have bad news to pass along that only is it destructive. It has turned deadly. 4 people have died from the lnu complex fire and i can tell you that 4 people are injured. Good news, though is the firefighters and we need every one of those firefighters so far no firefighter has been injured, right now it is extremely smoky in vacaville even driving up here, i could smell it as far away as. Right around the lay ho so is all over the bay area and i would imagine it will continue to be this way. I know they dont like the windy conditions meridian robin. Thats just north of windsors so lets go there, lets check in with kron 4 Sarah Stinson sees live near healdsburg with another update sarah. Robin its a devastating sight to see here just west of healdsburg especifically on Wallace Creek road. Theres some homes survived, but then right next door there sums some that have burned down lets take a look at that i just shot this video about 30 minutes ago. Its a fresh look at some of the damage and the devastation that has been caused by the wall bridge fire. Worst finally getting a look at it now that the sun is up its devastating to see this is actually the First Physical home ive seen with my own eyes not through video and that has been burned it down from the wall bridge fire because this fire has been burning for days now, but its all been very dense very hard to get to. I had to drive one time up a narrow narrow road to get to even where the fire was burning and even then it was hard to see even if theres a different this area just west of healdsburg is an area where there are homes and its definitely affecting them. And its definitely causing devastation, everyone for the most part has evacuated from the area they havent they should do so because as we found out last night overnight and into the Early Morning hours it became out of control raging into this neighborhood and all thats left in some of those homes just the chimney some to love the the stairs up to the home. So we know that there has been 21,000 acres that have burned in the wall bridge fire thats a 1000 more than last night still sits at 0 contained and the walbridge fires a part of the larger ellen new lightning complex which has burned over 219,000 acres, we know in this complex 4 people have died and 3 napa once a law solano none in Sonoma County as so far thats what we because hopefully everyone back behind me by those houses evacuated and everyone is okay.
