Homes have been destroyed and thousands of people are still being forced to evacuate. And we are waiting on a live update from officials at the czu lightning complex fires are taking this live picture at the podium. At the Cal Fire Command Center thats in Santa Cruz County we will go to that press Conference Live when it happens. Well for now lets move Sonoma County where part of the yelling you lied and complex fires are still burning and were focusing on the wall bridge fire thats in Sonoma County. You can see right here on the map on your screen thats of the area. That the fire is burning this morning you can see its burning right along the lake sonoma recreation area, northeast of windsor, lets check in with kron 4 Sarah Stinson who is live near hillsborough where she has a better reception sarah good morning. Robin good morning, im live here on a west side road. This is west of healdsburg in this community where theres wineries those homes and unfortunately the walbridge fire part of the l a new lightning complex it traveled south east or southwest and southeast which is what they didnt want to happen because thats where the homes are take a look at this video we dont have Cell Phone Service inside there otherwise. Id be live to show you but you can see in their home on fire. This is the Worst Nightmare of not only the people who live in this area, but also the firefighters is what theyre trying to avoid all day yesterday with air drops boots on the ground theyve been working all week actually up near the armstrong woods area near guerneville to prevent it from coming down here southeast from where the fire was mainly burning earlier this week and thats what happened the winds picked up and it has probably happened so quickly because in the video you can you see firefighters in the area that video shot on Wallace Creek road. So what you do is you drive down west side road then you turn right onto mill creek road in down there it gets pretty hairy and then if you turn right on Wallace Creek road thats where it gets really really bad and you can see i mean theres downed trees its very scary down there and did calling on him to be safe for firefighters to go down there at this point. Were trying to get an update from cal fire in terms of how many homes burned overnight, but clearly they have to wait until the sun comes up to see that so stay tuned, well let you know if we have an update for now im live near hillsborough Sarah Stinson kron 4 news all right sir, thanks for that live report we want to go now to the south bay where were going to hear from officials at the czu lightning complex fire know 50,000 acres. Were still sitting at 0 containment. We still have 50 structures that we can confirm have been destroyed that number will go up we do anticipate that get in the triple as we go out there and feel proven verify what has actually been destroyed. We also about 64,600 people have been evacuated from a the evacuation 6 for a 64,000. A and we now have over 1000 personnel a horrifying first not seen 1026. Without a pass over to our Operations Section chief was actually running the operations on the ground out tell friends that Management Team, keepers. A good morning we again more significant the fire behavior throughout the fire. We did see a little bit of a marine influence of some moisture there that came into the earlier in the evening, although that was short lived and when receded back. Our fire conditions increased significantly. It is helping very much more on the western edge of the fire but on the eastern edge of the start providing us the relief that we would like to see your would traditionally see with an onset of some marine layer in coming to the area. With that we experience again a more active fire on the eastern part of the fire. The student packed a number of the communities everywhere from Boulder Creek tube in london and further im the sort of see there was more structure loss throughout but the fire again, the Park Missions like the resources were doing the best we absolutely can with that there are also a number of the fantastic by our first not only the firefighters but our Law Enforcement brothers sisters, assisting us and doing our job be successful in that endeavor. One of the things that continues to hamper as we do have evacuations in place there in place for very good reason only for the Public Safety and the safety of our first but with that when the people that you stay behind and you try to take theres no hands with the trend suppress fires it creates a bigger issue for our First Responders and in that this. Those that stayed we had last night 3 separate rescues the pool are vital. Very few resources away have to rescue those individuals because they put themselves in peril did not train firefighters. I know theyre trying to do the right thing for the property of the neighbors. But in the long run, its created to be a problem for for the First Responders and because of that it took our part by the way from the fire fight. Rescue them. Put our First Responders the firefighters are long for brothers sisters 2 game to some other danger to rescue them out of that situation so. If you have been that evacuated please evacuate put yourself in that situation to put her First Responders into that situation, thank you. Next to Santa Cruz CountySheriffs Offices chief every quote. Good morning. So i want to touch on kind of what we did last night in terms of our progress and then a couple other things for people that are displaced right now with regards to a little bit of a time because people might be wondering that as well as well as pets or or animal so first starting with last night. We continue through the evacuation city a scotts again i mentioned yesterday that the population that area about 12,000 people so were nearly done with that this morning on the end and again that areas everything west of highway 17 and so were nearly done with that we used about 76 people to do that last night and then once we get done without for us really its its transitioning to a certain extent to to stick to it to where all of our folks are going to be dedicated to security. So long as this fire doesnt change and we have to somehow moving to a different area for any other you know future or potential evacuation. So. Later today soon as the evacuations are here in Scotts Valley were going to basically 93 people are going to be spread out 93 officers and deputies spread out. Throughout the valley throughout Scotts Valley got to do. Roving patrols and that sort of thing to make sure that peoples homes are safe and that were keeping eye on anyone who that they want to come up here for the wrong reasons and so i just reiterate. What chief bratton said theres theres no reason to come back into an evacuated area. Again it places fire. The cal fire is doing the absolute best they can to stop this fire and coming back into an evacuation zone like you heard draws them away from their job. It also draws us away from potentially looking for people and evacuating that we need to. Last night we did get a couple calls with regards to suspicious vehicles. But again weve got people that that are out there that are looking for those looking for anyone else that might driving around looking to see her go for gore as a whole in terms of timeframe i want to bring this up because i could i could imagine that if youre displaced by this fire. You might be wondering like how long am i going to be away from my home and i dont want to give any false hope here because its its a dynamic situation that this fire is not contained and so you know what i tell my loved one it could be potentially weeks right depending on what this fire does so i throw that out there in the sense that if the people are wondering how soon can i get that it could be potentially weeks and that thats all depend upon what the fire dies. The last thing i want to touch on real quick is just animals because you know you you know maybe somebody wants to come back into an evacuation zone because maybe they forgot that maybe theres Something Like that and you know i have to go back to have to go back. I want to give you animal controls phone number and so what we can do is we can potentially assist animal control and going up and doing a sort of a rescue want to pat and so i want to give you that number and thats a 3, 1, 4, 7, 1, 1, 1, 8, 2, 8, 3, 1, 4, 7, 1, 1 one 82 with regards to we are going to bring in 2 speaking next form the San Mateo CountySheriffs Office is detective plants ways. The morning so percent and county overnight. We had Law Enforcement officers from multiple agencies going door to door making the announcements of the evacuation thank you to our monthly Utility Partners who assisted with that has a recap evacuation zones or every town that is west of 35 all the way up to highway one. We did see a lot of cars leaving last night. We appreciate those people who did that we want to make so that we have personnel were able to direct the resources accordingly and be able to save the properties as much as possible. Unfortunately were seeing a lot of her still coming in were asking everybody to avoid coming into these coastal towns and disease route so that we can leave them open for the people were trying to get out as well as the First Responders. The have and the high School Evacuation point is now also were asking everybody, especially people with our resort trailers or large animals to go to the san mateo event center. And we also have spot fires throughout this region im south county fires on both sides of highway one. We also want to let everybody know that our hearts are with everybody whos impacted by this. We understand what youre going through these are our neighbors these are friends these are families who are with you on this mission. We want to let you know were doing everything that we can to protect our dear communities. Thank you. And next up is one of the unified instant commanders for the actual incident itself. Incident Management Team 3 icy boise. A good morning. Well last night obviously reported out of the 40,000 acres or 50,000 acres of 64,000 plus residents have been evacuated. Always with us now to talk about. This far grown 700 acres 2008 to the dollar overnight with some of the humidity so we did receive a tip of the fire it. But dont well youre to sense that something is changing on this incident. Once that were in there pulled out there was really burning activity out there in which joe all were lines out there and burned in several Different Directions and have further control efforts that are evacuation efforts to rescue efforts to lower personnel on the line. So again today. Well, those first know the arctic we do all over florida. Weve increased our first nobody or almost a 100 since last night. Which is good, its still a lot were going to continue to bring additional personal resources in there or continue to engage in this part by and well take a little wins and i got up and do a bit more thank you. And our final speaker, a for the. General assembly to senators areas call for you to keep him out. A good morning. As its been said this is a very dynamic situation that were dealing with here in both san mateo and santa cruz counties. I reiterated last night this is a historic of fans we have fire burning in areas that we have never burned at all. So as this fire continues to grow. As we try to get resources and to contain the fire. We just need to make sure that those that are evacuated. Heed those evacuation notices leave the area if you havent as it stated, were taking our vital resources that we have which are very limited. Were having to commit those to rescue those has decided to stay and try to assist those communities. We have firefighters out there trying to do perimeter control that have been taken away from that effort in order to effect this rescue to make sure everybody is safe and has left the area so. Stress it enough that Everybody Needs to leave the area and stay out of the area, lets get in there and do our jobs were doing everything that we can we have committed every available resource. That is available to us from our local Fire Agencies and our cal agency as well. We have basically put everything we have on the front line in order to try to contain this fire and as resources come in would be a sign of as the teen suspect to those areas that have the greatest impact in so please. We the area he the evacuations notice. If youre anywhere in the area or in front of the fire. And has not receive an evacuation notices. Take this is a. That front nose, a pair yourself be ready so any that that we do have to evacuate you are ready to go. Thank you. Without happy to answer any questions about the deal weve been watching an update a live update from officials at the czu complex fire which continues to burn and no containment in santa cruz and san mateo counties just in case you missed. The beginning of that update one of fill you in on the fact that there are now 50,000 acres that have burned 64,000 people in both san mateo and santa cruz counties have been evacuated and perhaps the most ominous a note that was said in Santa Cruz County anyway that it could be weeks before evacuees are allowed to return home. They also stressed the importance of not going back into those neighborhoods once youve been evacuated because they talked about situations where people went back in they were trapped fire crews have to come back out and rescue them and they were telling folks said not only are you putting your own life in danger but youre putting fire crews in danger as well theyre saying that they have limited resources and they just dont want you doing that they use that as an example to show why you should not be going back into those communities because once again theyve had to rescue people selfie ready to go pack up everything when you get that notice you to head out make sure you have your pets with you. All of your Important Documents as well because these fires just continue to move quickly throughout the bay area. We have an interactive map on our website all you have to do is go over to kron 4 dot com. We have a list of shows you where the fires are burning. The active ones that shows you where the Evacuation Centers are in addition to that we have a list of up to date evacuation orders and warnings that will help you out as well as all on our website kron 4 dot com it is 6618 this friday morning welcome back to the kron 00 04am morning news, lets go ahead and get a check of the Weather Forecast what a smart idea hey good morning marty good morning. Everybody exactly the shot i wanted to go to and if you can make this out now that we have a bit more light in here but if you look very carefully you can see from the fog and the marine layer kind of breezing on and we like to see that i mean the marine layer thickening up a little bit even as we get the sun to join us in its going to be eroding away over the next hour or so most the ratings on the board in the 60s for the east bay up to the north bay, a mixture of 50s and 60s 63 for san jose. However, as delightful as all these elements are rushing a little bit warmer around the perimeter of the bay cooler actually inland because conditions are a little drier there they were not able to support the heat overnight. Ok so what drove drove all this was that front up towards our northwest provided the onshore wind were going to have that continuing on today tomorrow to but somewhat uneventful one of the weekend until we get to sunday night and a new system look out for maybe some moisture sticking up from the southwest and that is tropical moisture from the Tropical Storm want to show you speaking of which the trop of the moisture patterns that we have a drying out during the day shore, but least hugging parts of the bay you can see some of the green there. The overnight recovern as they call it still spilling in the central valley, this is now saturday morning. Then we go all the way out to sunday morning. And we have Something Different going on by this point that might be when we have that moisture were speaking of that parcel coming up here and we might be having potentially some rain what were concerned about is lightning flashes it still doesnt look as we use the term promising is last sunday was wed like to see the lightning but in terms of rain quantitatively been ice disk in some of the rain even as modest as it will be heres the wind pattern that we see here flowing you see the northwest westerly flow thats the onshore winds. We spoke of theyre going to be with us again today to probably a little bit in the saturday of course some of this being driven by the fact the inland areas heat up more so that drives the factor ok so we have fog going on as we can see from the overcast position over the east bay hills today. Yes, were and join the onshore flow that we have somewhat more mild then for the weekend thats we have as you can see temperatures will remain pretty much in the midnineties but a few showers developing sunday night into monday morning, potentially there might be some dry lightning to walk out for all of that. Today 74 smoke and haze, San Francisco 84 opened 85 per san jose with warm and still dealing with the smokes course happening down the santa cruz fires from that perspective. Midnineties going on the far east bay up to the north a mixture of 80s and 90s east bay shoreline in the lower 80s, 85 meanwhile for san jose, lets go and just give you a snapshot here of or talk about for a longer range period on to next week we stay in the 90s to the period but that is just close to seasonality actually monday being one of the warmest days and we might have some showers hopefully monday morning robin. All right. Thank you dave now back to our breaking news that were following for you out of the north bay the with what fire is still burning its threatening of more than 1600 structures in marin county. It has burned 2000 acres in Point Reyes National seashore and it is still 0 contained as of this morning keep in mind that evacuation warnings are still in effect for those living west of highway one so from sir Francis Drake boulevard in a lima all the way over to bolinas those evacuations are not mandatory right now its just a warning. But officials are telling us that you know things could change if the winds pick up so you want to be packed up ready to go so you can head out officials also say that fire was sparked by lightning. Well in napa county a community in the various a highland just lies in ruins check out this video several homes just gone, cars melted the air filled with smoke and smell the burning gas. The hennessey fire just swept through this neighborhood wednesday. Despite a mandatory evacuation order. Some neighbors as we keep hearing they stayed behind to protect their homes and fire crews remain on scene. Theyre knocking down hot spots there but you know just checking on the neighborhood protecting the homes that are still standing. And were also tracking the scu lightning complex fires. Take a look at this map it shows the thermal activity of the fires. They are now burning across 5 counties in santa clara. Alameda contra costa, san joaquin in stanislaw counties 20,000 structures are threatened this morning. And still ahead this morning. Well have complete coverage of the wildfires that are burning across the bay area this videos from cal fire. Of the czu august lightning complex fire. Well have welcome back everyone, California Energy regulators are taking the blame for the States Energy shortage in a sixpage letter to governor newsome leaders of the states Public UtilitiesCommission Energy commission and grid operator promised to improve their systems after a record heat wave threaten power disruptions for nearly a week. They say the california is relying too heavily on important importing power from out of state to meet the high demand for electricity on summer afternoons and nights Energy Regulator suggest that the Newsom Administration reexamined state rules on energy supply. And still ahead this morning were covering breaking news on the fires that continue to destroy and damage homes in the bay area we have a Team Reporters standing by with live updates well, thanks for joining us 6. 30 this friday morning for the kron 00 04am morning news and our breaking news this morning. We continue to be the fires that are burning across the bay area and lets show you a map of where the fires are burning this morning. We have so many the l a new lightning complex fire is the largest and size of earning 215,000 acres at in the north bay and then theres the scu lightning complex thats in the east bay, this court more than a 157,000 acres and that includes a contra costa Alameda Santa clara status, la and san joaquin counties and then to the south at the bottom of the map. Its this easy you on this lightning 48,000 acres in san mateo and santa cruz counties homes have been destroyed. Thousands of people have been forced to evacuate. And then standing there officials. Well people a vacaville are assessing the damage right now after their homes are just completely destroyed by the lnu complex fires. You can see whats left of that one home not much right after the woman who lived there she was forced to evacuate and this is what she came back to her house just reduced to rubble. It is so sad to see well lets take a look at the map where the lnu complex fires are burning this morning. They cover parts of a wide area that includes solano napa and sonoma counties we want to go live now to kron fours will tran hes in vacaville. He has the latest for us this morning will. Mardy on English Hills road. So weve been focusing on the past several days on Pleasant Valley road which is not too far but because of the hills we had to actually drive around the freeway so. Its not too far as far as miles concern, but you can see how hilly this area is and the fire from Lake Berryessa ripped through the syria on the way to Pleasant Valley road. And you can see its still burning this morning. This is a lot of ranch is a lot of farmland out here so you can see lot of the structures still smoldering, we do know unfortunately for people died from the fires that started a couple of days ago and moved from Lake Berryessa down to this location. 215,000 acres all together for the l a new lightning complex fire. Fortunately were not hearing of any firefighters being injured or killed. They are throwing as much as they possibly can given the resources that are stretched thin now theyre throwing as much as they can to this fire. But its going to be quite some time before they even get the containment number into double digits. Its smoky is can be at this location. I can tell you is might be even worse breathing today than it was over the past several days. People along this area and other parts of vacaville. They got the knock at the door by the Sheriffs Department to get out and others just they newell it was getting imminently close because they knew Lake Berryessa was not too far away so they took off as well. There are checkpoints mardy robin throughout this area but theyre not cracking down on people who have to come back to get more resources and in fact i even talked to a woman as she was driving through the checkpoint, youll have some of her pets still here because she was not able to take her pets but she is driving back and forth to feed them to give them water and then leave this location, right now its just authorized personnel and media that are allowed to stay here for an x amount of time so you get in here and you get your items you leave as you can clearly see the flames are gone mostly the flames are gone, but the smoky conditions worse than ever. And we should get an update from cal fire in about 30 to 40 minutes from now well give you the very latest numbers but at last check it appears it still 0 contained. Back to you all right, well thanks a lot for that update. Robin well now lets move on to Sonoma County thats where part of the l in the eu lightning complex fires are burning check out the map here were focusing on the wall bridge fire. Thats in Sonoma County you can see the map of where the burn area is of the fire thats still going this morning you can see thats burning right along the lake sonoma recreational area. Thats just northeast of windsors so we want to check in with kron 4 Sarah Stinson shes been on scene all morning. Sarah whats the latest news. He there robin live here on mill creek road. This is where if you drive keep going youll see where those burned homes and structures are that weve shown you all morning long and im actually going to get behind the camera so i can show you exactly where im at and what i can see. Now that i have Found Service here in this area. The address at an ad for those who know the area is 2323 mill creek road. And this is mill creek lane as you can see this area is fine. But if you keep driving here near Wallace Creek road that is where you see the flames you can see a little bit of red right there in the orangey fire behind the trees and then you see the plume of smoke thats coming from it. Just looks like its smoldering almost from that area lot of smoke. Coming from those burned structures and homes, its devastating. This is what they were trying to avoid yesterday with air drops with firefighters on the ground trying to put out the flames that have been burning for days now mainly up near arms are more armstrong woods area and theyre trying to avoid this from coming down towards the hillsborough area and this area is just west of healdsburg its a community with do wineries homes and these homes have been burned on Wallace Creek road. If you keep driving on miller creek road youll also see a lot of charred land and its just devastating to see this morning because i know that firefighters are working super hard to make sure that this didnt happen thats what they heard when i interviewed the Public Information officer yesterday at 09 00am and to have those winds come in. And to have that fire rapidly just start raging, this way. Its just hard to see we know that this wall bridge fire this is us area, its burned 20,000 acres at least expect that number to go up a little bit after they do their briefing at 7 oclock and still at 0 contained no reported deaths in this area, no reported injuries but of with that could change hopefully everyone in this area evacuated like they were supposed to. But as weve seen in this l a new lightning complex it has been deadly. With 4 people dying in other counties though, but this is in the same complex no deaths reported were going to be live here this morning to bring you more im actually going to drive in there and see what i get for you can see cal fire truck coming out right now, but its pretty clear that is just continuing to burn structures in this area for now im live near healdsburg Sarah Stinson kron 4 news all right sarah be safe. Thanks a lot for that live report willis focus in now on the czu lightning complex fires. Burning in san mateo and santa cruz counties take a look at the map on your screen and shows the thermal activity from those flames. Now we do know this morning that several homes in both those counties have been destroyed. Thousands of people some 64,000 people have been forced to evacuate. Kron fours reyna harvey live now in Santa Cruz County she has the latest for us this morning, rain. Marty good morning. Im in Scotts Valley where they had to evacuate thousands of families yesterday now behind me youre going to see the firefighters and First Responders are getting ready to have their morning meeting where they set out their plan for the day, but its still not looking good. The fire continued to grow overnight just burning of homes in its path people that were evacuated there say many of them may not be able to return to their home for weeks to come as they continue to try to get some sort of containment on this fire well show you overnight homes went up in flames, this is in Boulder Creek that youre looking at your screen and again families ive talked to in the area that were evacuating i did not want to leave that this is presented a problem for a lot of the First Responders here in the area because of those families not want to leave it had to have several rescue missions of people which is taken away from resources that the firefighters desperately need to try to get this fire out were now at 50,000 acres no containment on this fire 50 structures have been destroyed and they anticipate that several more as soon as they get a chance to go up there and count them will be looking at structures in the triple digits about 64,000 plus people have been evacuated from this area now theyve increased fire personnel to about 1000 overnight so they brought in more capabilities i saw the los angeles in Riverside County years well this morning. Now again we spoke to several residents in the area. But we also just left one of the press conferences and here is what the fire personnel had to say i we still have 50 structures that we can confirm have been destroyed. That number will go up we do anticipate that given the triple as we go out there and feel proven verify what has actually been destroyed experience again a more active fire on the eastern part of the fire. The student packed a number of the communities everywhere from Boulder Creek tube in london and then further south. Sources say there was more structure loss throughout but the fire again the Park Missions like the resources were doing the best we absolutely can with that there are also a number of the fantastic by our first not only the firefighters but our Law Enforcement brothers sisters assisting us and doing our job be successful in that endeavor. Showing no today that they are going to also be transitioning today over the next few days. A lot of the personnel ugly like the Sheriffs Office to protected and doing daily checkups on homes in the area you have these thousands of people that are out of their homes lot of people probably worried about their properties to say the least from fire and then potentially somebody raking in so theyre going to have around the clock watch of homes in this area now the second thing theyre saying if theyre asking you to leave you must leave and the reason for that is not only are people staying in the area taking of resources from fire personnel who need them on the ground to focus on the fire but in addition to that youre also putting yourself at risk and the First Responders now theyre going to be doing hard road closures if they have asked you to evacuate that area theyre not going to let you back in and theyre going to be shutting down those roads so theyre telling people if they are deciding to come back please do not also for visitors who are coming into these coastal towns are telling people to please stay away because theyre trying to leave that space open for people who are currently evacuating and trying to get out now were going to update you after they hold this morning led with some of the challenges that they anticipate that theyll see today will bring you that live coming up in the next hour for now reporting here in Scotts ValleyReyna Harvey Kron 4 news all right ray thanks for that report. It just of your heart goes out to the people in both of those counties. Well, you know right now is the perfect time for you to download the kron on mobile app you can stay connected on the latest fire dangers across the bay area will also have updates for you on weather and the latest on Power Outages as well you can get it all on the kron on mobile app. And now we want to check in starts another day, were waking up to more cloud cover more smoke dave, the first thing i do when i wake up i usually stretch the window open get some fresh air can do that this morning. Yeah, theyll be hard to do for all of us for a little while to going least we have some cooler temperatures and the overcast conditions is what it looks like. Helps keep down some of the temperatures a little bit because dont have a direct sunlight but that will change as the morning starts to wear on good morning, everybody. This is the kind of overcast position we have with kind of a fog clouds lingering a little bit of course were going to have the hazy sunshine replace that later on today because of all the smoke going on but watching really now from this Vantage Point we can see that fog just a road away as the morning starts to wear for us, whats driving all of this with the return of fog in some cooler temperatures to is this front up towards our north and the weakening High Pressure moving east. So we have the onshore flow returning both today and tomorrow. Temperatures are just recite the reduced from that were kind of shaving off bringing it down below 100 for much of the bay area. And well see mostly mid 90 for those far east bay reaches and and the inland valleys and that will be the case throughout this weekend right now we stand of the 60s in the 50s noticeably, so however is a little bit milder around the bay or warmer if you want to put it that way and slightly cooler inland. This is because the drier air we have inland with a more moist air around the bay that retains temperatures overnight breaking it down for you again noting that morning fog its calling a partly cloudy at 07 00am by 10. We should be mostly sunny. But basically its hazy 7387 going on by 1 oclock the coming up in just a bit well be checking in the 4 zone forecast for you marty all right dave thanks le speaking of hazy, lets go ahead and take you outside for this live camera showing of all the smoke in the air this is from the fire in vacaville obviously unhealthful air around the bay area again today well hey, my twitter is blowing up dear jack box, bring back the spicy chicken strips, still waiting for the spicy chicken strips, so many about spicy chicken strips. Wow, i hear you. So im bringing back my juicy 100 allwhite meat spicy chicken strips combo for only 5. 99 is it the juicy 100 allwhite meat . Or because you can spice them up or cool them down . Or because a little birdie told me you wanted them back really bad. Get my spicy chicken strips combo for only 5. 99. Welcome back everyone and back to our breaking news, the wildfires that are burning all around the bay area and of course thats having a huge impact on negative impact on the air funny boy it sure isnt joining us this morning is christina choose with the bay area air Quality Management district, christina good morning and give give us the lowdown what we can expect today and then looking into the weekend as far as air quality. Sure good morning, thanks for having me this yesterday actually we experience and strong. Northwesterly winds that came in from the stronger than the last 2 days which was able to clear out of the air. Generally speaking around the bay area however are bay out out in livermore up through and vacaville are still experiencing very unhealthy care. Theyre getting a lot of smoke from. The fires that are surrounding them really right now the scu lightning complex fire which is out in the east bay and the l and you like in complex which is burning up in the north bay but because of northwesterly wind blowing that spoken to the east bay so. We do recognize that widespread around the bay area generally air quality is improving for most folks but again in the east there theyre still suffering right now. Whats the outlook for the weekend. Well we do we do not actually see when pattern changing too much through the weekend. We do hope with temperatures coming down in the east bay that is helping with fire containment and hopefully of firefighters will be able to get a better handle on all the fires around the area which would alleviate some of the smoke. But in terms of longterm outlook are Forecasting Team is actually being a threat of lightning early next week on probably monday or tuesday. And thats terrifying bomb so we really hope that this weekend. They provide someone with cooler temperatures but again well really counting fire containment. We know we have a spare the air alert today tomorrow through sunday. Do you think were entering a phase where this is becoming a new normal because the fires are nowhere near. Containment were still at 0 for some of the larger fires are we going into like an extended period of just poor air quality that we need to get used to. Im fortunately i think its very unfortunate, but in years past we have experienced fires, but they started in late september october even and so were at the middle of august and it is is what we are going to have to face in our new normal. Given Climate Change and making extreme. Whether thats super charges are wildfires it going to be something that is just catastrophic for years to come so what about behavior so this is becoming our new normal. Talk to the folks about the Behavioral Changes that they need to make what should we do how should we adjust our daily living going forward. I love it should wildfire preparedness now im part of our new normal in addition to her quick prepared right eye on making sure your house is as.
