They may be providing cover for agitators who are more intent on stoking civil unrest, then advancing racial justice. The mayors statement refers to the president s comments last week that he would send federal agents to cities, including oakland, new york and chicago to help control protesters. One oakland resident echoes the mayors message is name is stephen lowe and fall and he was out surveying the damage at the courthouse sunday morning. He tells us that hes worried about the longterm effects of violent protests. Well my thought. Or that people have a right to protest, but is at the same time we have law and order and my concern is long term its going to backfire and for now it takes more dollars away from the services we need. And its really sobering to see beautiful and its also really sad like as i was looking at and reading their names. I think the thing that struck me the most is i wish i could just like. Talk to these people in person and that they were a name on a heart because they were killed for the color of their skin at the installation in large sign explaining its purpose. Well take a look at that in your 4 zone forecast and check on hurricane douglas. Rob sounds good. Thank you dave. Back to a big story that were following for you this morning more airlines are strengthening their mass requirements this week, lets check in with kron fours will tran who is live at sfo and also getting reaction from travelers this morning will. Robin travelers. They are saying its about time but i did talk to a nurse and she said shes not a fan of masks, but if they have to wear it then so be it. This is a new policy for Southwest Airlines starting today no mask, no fly. No exceptions they dont even care if you have a reported a medical problem that will prevent you from wearing a mask they said thats too bad that stop we will see you after the pandemic and come back with their stay safe. Their number one priority is to make sure their employees and their passengers are safe and that is why they are getting ready to prepare you. Now to prepare to give you a mask if necessary if you dont have one and of course if you dont want to wear one. You cant fly with them. They are joining united airlines. They actually started this policy on friday and then American Airlines they will begin the policy on wednesday, so 3 Major Airlines with American Airlines being the Largest Airline in the world and blood money and on wednesday, so this could be the new trend moving forward. Now i did talk to a nurse about 15 minutes ago. She says that she doesnt believe masks work. But she is going to follow the rules. And theyre a business they make the rules if you want to fly an airplane then you either choose to comply or you choose not to fly. Otherwise you would if they didnt have this mask policy you would be on a plane without a mask absolutely if i felt the need to cough or sneeze i would do what i always did before covid became a thing and i would cover my mouth and i would clean my hands afterwards because thats what you do when you dont spread germs or does. A lot of people on social media theyre saying well she has the prerogative to think what she wants to think but the bottom line is she said that she will wear a mask and she did wear that mask you see. When she hopped on to her Southwest Airlines flight. Not sure what the other airlines plan to do that when you got the 3 Major Airlines doing it safe to say that eventually perhaps the other airlines will continue with this policy as well as far as united airlines. They started because they. It started with their flight attendants first and then they say now its up to passengers as well including the baggage area so even though that nurse doesnt want to do it. It seems like everybody is on board. Yes, robin marty. I meant to say i rather liked it. E all right we get no mass no flying thank you will will tran live from sfo marty. Robin College Students across the country wont be taking in person classes this fall because of the coronavirus and because of that theyre left in a very tough position. If they cant break their leases for off Campus Housing. Students who live on campus received housing funds but many of those living off campus have been left in the lurch their pain rent for an empty apartment. U c berkeley senior edward wong signed a lease for an apartment before the pandemic back in november of last year, but when the campus announced it was closing in the spring. He notified his landlord but his Lease Agreement says he must pay 6 ponce rent at one time to end the lease. So now many other students are in the same predicament in their trip to get out trying to figure out away legally to get out of this. I dont know about them all the way back in april of this year that i wanted to terminate but since then there hasnt been any successful negotiations i most likely be forced to declare bankruptcy because im im just a coming out of college, theres no possible way. Island would be able to pay 30,000 to terminate the leases the hasnt even started yet were seeing here today is really.
