And happening today, the San Francisco zoo is reopening to the general public kron 4 Sarah Stinson live at the sf zoo with more on how theyre working there to ensure that the visitors remain safe. Hi sarah good morning. Marty good morning finally the San Francisco zoo can reopen its been about 4 months of being closed and the public can come today have to buy your tickets online that this is what theyre doing to keep you safe. When you walk in all the people entering the park under here as you can see people exit on that side. As you walk into the park right away you see a chance to Hand Sanitizer station is actually one even closer in the entrance and as you continue to walk there are signs right there. We talked about this last hour keep 6 feet a distance or keep the distance of a grizzly bear a lion or 4 lemurs your choice but you got the point keeper does joining us now is nancy chan, his spokesperson for us tell me what else are you guys doing were standing in front of a barricade here to make sure people dont enter the playground right. Correct so there are some areas, especially the indoor facilities are going to be closed. But not only the indoor areas like the insect zoo and the aviary and places like that but were going to be closing we have closed for the public. The playground, the carousel the little cover or you can put animals. You guys are really eliminating the touch points for everyone making sure they had a hand railings are all blocked off. So the human minds people had dont Touch Everything just got to keep your hands are self break and even when we dont have the barricades up for the caution tape we are sanitizing and disinfecting areas that might be high touch as well. Thats good so for parents and families coming out to enjoy the zoo. What are the main points they should remember. Well, of where fish a Face Covering and social distance from others not near group, but just as a reminder too that we are open but it is by reservation only so were also doing a timed entry so people have to go to our web site online at sa dot org. And there they have to make a reservation and us a specific time because were only having a limited capacity per day. And then shot weve got to show people the loop. Its one way in one way out making sure people dont really cross paths too much. Tell me more about that making sure people keep distance youre only going to be at what 50 capacity were at 50 capacity but during the summer day is pretty high area and staying under that so. For where we would normally have a 6,000 per sunday were were probably living in around 1700 which is low or a little behind a little under that the capacity. But as far every as far as visiting. Were 100 acre park. We have no problem people keeping people completely separate. I mean we have seen over the course of the last couple days people stay within their family group says no way they can congregate because were not doing anything special or not doing a keeper talks. Were not doing any special seating for not doing anything like that people are very casually going around the zoo. And even the benches are blocked off so it seems like people could possibly feel like they have the zoo to themselves. Thank you nancy for joining us and so thats pretty nice. I know a lot of us are anxious to get out, especially those who have kids so this might be a great option for you to stay safe, you know youre going to wear a mask and a plenty of space between you and other people. So it seems like a good they sold out on the 2 days, they let members only come in so expect that tickets might be sold out, but definitely head to their website because you have to buy your tickets on line in the parking as well for now live at the San Francisco zoo, Sarah Stinson kron 4 news sarah quick question before we let you go now going to be open every day. Yeah, it seems like yep its open monday through friday right yeah open daily monday through sunday.
