There say that they pulled up at that a childs birthday event and then shot the people that were there so again they dont know who and theyre still gathering information we first this story coming out of the late late last night still trying to piece together there were no reports of injuries but now we know this morning and 2 people died that a 63 yearold and 37 yearold and and that children also were shot at this party as well. Were also following breaking news this is in Central California in the community of paso robles us where a deputy was shot and what the Sheriffs Office is calling an active shooter situation. It happened about 4 oclock this morning. The Sheriffs Department says that the shooter fired at the Paso Robles Police station hitting the sheriffs deputy, the sheriffs deputies in the hospital this morning in serious but stable condition. Anyone in the downtown area of paso robles is being asked now to shelter in place well continue to update the story as we get more information. When officers tried to pull over a stolen dodge hellcat to the driver rammed several patrol vehicles thats when 3 chp officers fired at the car and they killed the driver has been identified as Erick Salgado a female passenger was also shot and taken to the hospital her name or kurd condition has not yet been released. Oakland Police Officers were not involved in the shooting but the departments homicide investigators discovered the car was one of 74 vehicle stolen from a san leandro car dealership during the night of rioting and looting earlier this month. Now to the north bay in rohnert park, the Police Department is looking for this man, he is gabriel gobbled on. He is a suspect involved in a stabbing now police say he still may be carrying the knife with him so if you see him they ask that you dont approach him. But instead call 911 immediately. So this taking place on the 100 block of cynthia in north of a lay whole theyre telling us that 5 people were shot ranging in age from 10 to 63 years old and tragically, we know those 2 women died, 63 in 37 years old 3 additional victims including that one male adult one female adult, and that one child like you mentioned all shot as well but are expected to survive. Now they were all at a toddlers Birthday Party here. This is at the 100 block of cynthia in north allay hole when a group of shooter so not just one a group exited that vehicle and targeted all women men and children that were there. Now again we just got through talking to the delay ho chief of police and heres what he had to say about this disturbing shooting. Now that calls for Police Free Schools in the Oakland Unified School district. Kron 4 Sarah Stinson has been following this story throughout the morning. She has the latest information for us sara. And the george floyd resolution is being announced today 5 black organizing project this is an organization out of oakland and they have been offered ing this Initiative Last 10 years and this is the day that theyre finally announcing it theyre demanding that the Oakland Unified School district eliminate the Police Department now many districts such as San Francisco have called contracts with the local Police Departments, but oakland has its own schools. Police department and is the only district in Alameda County to have one. The police unit consists of 120 school site officers who have who cover full schools and neighborhoods across the city it cost millions of dollars every year. The black organizing project wants schools in oakland to be police free and safe for black and brown students now Organization Leaders say black students make up 73 of arrests made by police in the district despite being only 26 of the student population, so parents Students Community leaders part of this. Organization theyll be introducing the new resolution at a press Conference Today at 2 oclock at le school led to elementary school. If you want to join theyre theyre saying just bring a mask and theyre going to do some social distancing. But you now sing it there may also be talking about it tonight with the school or the board of education in oakland and so unfortunately we couldnt get the interview in time for this live report. Are asking the San Francisco Unified School District to cut ties with sfpd more than 500 people joined tuesday, San Francisco Unified School District Board Meeting on zoom and they called for the end of the School Resource officers saying that their presence can be toxic for students on campus School District is currently reviewing their agreement with the Police Department. I have seen first hand and both experience police violence. And i think that if we really want to show our students that we support them we care about them and we need to end all ties with the Police Department are still many other ways of in that instance in every instance of intervention that are more wellness focus more communityfocused. For us to have conversations that are not alienating to anyone in our community. As of pd responded by saying it values its relationship with the School District and would like to continue that relationship. Youre taking a look at the statement that they had earlier on tuesday with the Police Department says it firmly believes that our youth and School Resource officer program serve as positive ways to build lasting and healthy relationships between our officers and use specifically youth in underserved communities were building relationships and mutual trust is most needed. Now the School Board Commissioners have not yet made a decision on this plan. San Francisco Mayor london breed says she plans to redirect some funding from sfpd to support the African American community in the next budget. This decision is drawing the attention of the Vice President of the San Francisco Police Officers association thats lieutenant tracey mcrae who says shes concerned about the form that these cuts will take. I really worry about cutting their training but right because you want to stray in the de escalation want to bring in the experts in that field right to train us so what we do got him because it may have that component we have that right we have that tree and so its just you know.
