From the fire. You can see this is vine crest circle in windsor and you can see the black in the area the scorchers there as car heads down the road taking a look and where the. Of destruction was cut, but look theres a home standing so while it scorchers in many instances they have been able to save property change which has been fantastic and thats thanks in large part to people. Observing the evacuation orders and getting out which allows again fire and police to get their equipment in their personnel and and hold those lines and hopefully save more and more homes as thi fire continues progress but heres the situation as it stands with relation to the fire and the evacuations. Evacuation areas have actually grown what has stayed the same is the mandatory should say the evacuation warning that exists from one oh one out to the coast, the degas bay. Jenner those folks are still in just an evacuation warning the mandatory evacuation zone continues to be right there along one o one stretching out to the county line there that butts up against napa and lake county and this is the burn area that exists inside and the more recent fires are these dots in darker red the more of the older fires are lighter in color and you can see the current bird, the new bern has really been on the eastern flank encroaching into or at least near napa county and lake county in fact, heres the a mandatory evacuation area for napa county yesterday this was just an advisory, but its been upgraded so have your things ready to go get the car packed things may turn on you for the worse without too much notice and then to the north of that we have lake county yesterday. It was just this is own that was impacted by this. Evacuation warning which includes the town of middletown but to the north now we also have these other zones that have been activated as well both of them with the warning cobb for instance which saw a wild fires in the past year now also an evacuation warning, which means again get your stuff packed get ready to go as this fire continues to burn right now most the majority activities you can see here on the map hes in the area of lake county heading towards middletown, which is why that community and everybody else in that zone now are on alert. All right, lets go live now to. Middletown as you mentioned it is under an evacuation warning this morning in kron fours will tran is there live with a look at whats going on high will. Heres the reason why they have that warning very a look over my right shoulder. We want to show you whats going on right now along the ridge in you can see the flames have gotten bigger over the last 30 minutes or so it is burning out of control at this point im sure there are a cal fire firefighters up there just to make sure that theyre ready to pay house on it but theyre not really doing heavy lifting until the sun comes up because thats when they will do the airdrops me show you video from yesterday. This is the kincade fire which is now spread to lake county and that is why people in middletown theyve been told get ready to evacuate. We showed you this fire live throughout the kron 4 morning news yesterday. It moved along the ridge fortunately it looks like james and darya its staying on the ridge and not moving closer to the town of middletown. Its not windy at this time it is very cold, but the lack of winds will help to firefighters use this window of opportunity to try to at least knock down most of the flames today because it is obviously a huge concern. Its such a dry area hard area to reach as far as the cal fire vehicles fortunately were not hearing of any injuries to the cal Fire Fighters up on the front lines. But we do expect the air drops to happen once again a little bit later this morning and we will get an update from cal fire in about 2 hours from now hopefully the containment numbers, well go up but as far as area. The good news james and ari oh we were so concerned about the windy conditions. Its slightly breezy at times but not windy so it looks like for now that fire is staying along the ridge and im sure there are homes up there. But obviously it most of the town. Most of the homes are based in the downtown proper area. Back to you all right, thanks a lot. Thats the case kind of everywhere. Weve seen is that the downtown areas have been ok. Even lee heels burglary in winds are just going go right the but you know you still got to get out so that means a lot of people who live in those towns even though their homes were not affected by the fire, theyre still affected this morning. They cant go back family and friends is where theyre staying or the evacuation shelters and so weve been keeping tabs. On the situation out there us christine that hate rose been standing by for us in Sonoma County with more on that front christina. So im over at the Sonoma County fairgrounds its one of the larger Evacuation Centers has been set up. Almost since the first day that this fire started now its very hub for a lot of different resources here first and foremost first its an Evacuation Center. The American Red Cross hasnt higher a center set up basically in the middle of the Fairgrounds Holding hundreds upon hundreds of evacuees, they also are the Evacuation Center that one of the few that host large animals as well for any people who may have forces, you know theyre able to keep here as well, but actually you can probably see a few people moving behind me here at that of those are firefighters that are trickling. The Sonoma County fairgrounds and over to the cal fire side of this pretty because they were actually just sleeping there in the middle of changing their ships to go out and to continue to battle the blaze. So really this area taxes bowl. Keeping zone for our fire forces and anyone who are on the front lines as well as the evacuees that when it comes to evacuees is during had mentioned that number about 90,000 people without a home during this time. They need to be a way because it how dangerous this fire is but a lot of these people theyre very much use to evacuation orders because they lived through the tubbs fire. A lot of santa rosa resident of course they have their homes completely destroyed and actually spoke with one gentleman was up very early this morning in the front of the fair grounds he was kind of getting some fresh air out of the Evacuation Center. And he said when it comes to these you know evacuation situations. Hes hes not usually very worried but he understands the severity of the fire itself, lets take a listen to what he had to. Well theres a lot of people where they dont really want to be here. Dont think it you know he and i chatted a lot about. Things are really scare him when it comes evacuation orders there no surprise to him but he again understands. The destruction that fire can bring so he does understand he does need to be here and the word that he kept using throughout the interview is just chaotic and annoying and for residents, its been in santa rosa for over 30 years he says its just routine now understand something has to do. But he really hopes that he can leave some time here within the week to go back to us and the home for now reporting live here at the Sonoma County fairgrounds christina teatro crime nice think that says a lot can ikin annoying but not. You know heartbreaking or life threatening and that is what you know the worst is so could be worse. James good to be a but it is. Wearing on people thats for sure and the Power Outages were certainly one of those factors that people getting awfully tired of. The good news is the wind event last night was not as strong as pg e had feared which means they didnt have to implement their Public Safety power shutoff for his many areas and the list you see on your screen are the counties that did not have to have any additional power shut off so good news for folks in Alameda County Contra Costa County santa clara, san mateo and santa cruz counties. Another was a worry as youre going to bed last night that may be around 11 oclock midnight. You the power go out and you do have to wake up to a dark house, but youre waking up to the lights on this morning which is great news. Thats not the case for everybody and we have the pg e power outage map to help illustrate that again. The great news for east bay and south bay residents and financial residents that we have a lot more green on the map and this is the pg e power outage map. Yes, there are a few pockets here and there we still have some of that purple but at this point that appears to be just sort of leftover residual Power Outages from the last power outage that we saw over the weekend and as those lines are inspected, we should see power restored hopefully in short order but well have to wait and see its all dependent on pg es resources and if they can get the crews out there to inspect the lines different story for the north bay thats where we still see widespread Power Outages, mainly in the evacuation zones. Were also seeing it in portions of Marion County to and portions of like southern santa rosa where theyre not technically in the evacuation zone, but they still have Power Outages to deal with hopefully peach and you can start getting some of those areas turned back on but again the top line message from pg e is that most of the north bay still without power. In fact they say. Across the north section of california which includes the north bay and the eastern sierra foothills, theyre looking at about 500,000 so half a million customers still in the dark well keep tabs on this and keep you updated on home chain was he genie will start telling the good news though. A lot of money with the rebate ok and well talk more about this too coming up, but apparently governor Gavin Newsome got on the horn and started put pressure on pg so now youre gonna start seeing some rebates in your checks of about a 100 for residents 50 for businesses, yeah, its not for every fire not every out is right now its only for the october nights power outage. Hopefully this will also be implemented for some of the more recent ones too well have to wait and see better than nothing on kron and well give you the very latest if you dont have power watching on a streaming device or as james pointed out. Maybe you do have. More people do this morning. Also some good news. Air quality is lot better on here with john taking a look at the map and its almost great. Yeah. Nothing is what you zeroes ones its its good we are looking at a big improvement in air quality overnight. The one good thing about the winds. It is they do help to stir the air up get some of those pollutants out get some of the smoke out sea, the big impact they had. Now were not and the clear the whole week so right in the patterns will tells with patterns changing so well see High Pressure of pushing back into place and calmer winds is good news. But you also have the high which means sinking air so a lot of a poor air quality is going to settle over the bay in the days to come right as you can by the fire taken up by the fires right now those fires Still Producing smoke. So that smoke its going to go somewhere so there is still opportunity for hazy days ahead of us so today is a good day. Get out there breathing a sigh of relief knowing that hey look at all that green youre going to be breathing in some much better air quality than what you had been saying, but dont necessarily expected to stay that way we could see some 4 days ahead of us in the forecast. Clear skies at the Golden Gate Bridge, no fog. No cloud cover no haze just good clear skies out there all across the bay. Were still looking at windy conditions have been checking regularly all our weather reporting stations up in the north bay and were still seeing gusts anywhere from 40 to 50 Miles Per Hour. So it is still breezy up there. Highest of elevations on the mountain tops in the north bay, but areas like petaluma and santa rosa, nice and calm. That is good news and winds are only going to continue to come down through the rest of the morning. Setting us up for what will be a calm night tonight a calm day tomorrow for halloween. Healdsburg lit and santa rosa all com asked cloverdale still definitely breezy has also is Hidden Valley lake middletown you are fairly calm right now 8 Miles Per Hour for your wind speed. Calm winds for the east bay, at least for the most part antioch in pittsburgh youre on the breezy side but not near as windy as it was expected. Thats why wind advisories have already expired red flag warnings do still remain in effect as we have very low humidity which does mean fire danger is still certainly something that we are going to be looking at today. Fire danger becomes a lesson to though through the course of the day ahead of us as winds become lighter and humidity overall does see improvements in the days to come, 40s and 50s for your temperatures right across the core of the bay, although or north bay spots like novato Napa Petaluma on up to santa rosa are back down into the 30s this morning a lot of the same areas without power. So it is a frigid start for some of our neighbors that are without power this morning, 30s and 40s to start but 60s and 70s by the afternoon making for a another nice one to get outside today. The difference today though you can actually outside and breathe in that air. Unlike yesterday with the poor air quality robin its getting busy out there checking the always crowded 80 west bay bridge commute into san francisco. Stocking up here at the toll plaza already spilling back to west grand not to the maze or through the maze not yet, but its kind of get there give it a little more time you can beat the rush still a 12 minutes to make it into san francisco, were looking at some more numbers and they look good highway force move 6 80 at the limit, no problems on the nimitz and then even one oh one looks nights 26 minutes, san jose to menlo park area. Thank a lot rob and fight for it. Continue our Team Coverage of the fire today thats burning in Sonoma County. Firefighters did a great job holding the line but still 90,000 structures are threatened. As this fire does continue to burn well be back with more on that. On the relief youre going to get from pg customers are going to get a car. Well tell you who. You know when youre at ross and you find a deal on cookware that makes you say. Yes . Oh, no, just a bag. Train insane, or remain the same. Phew well never totally figure them out. But we do know what makes them happy. Meow mix. Forty years and still the only one cats ask for by name. The First Time Since this fire broke out things are kind of looking up now, heres a live shot of our camera at a saint helene a. And this shows you that the fire still burning, im not saying its anywhere near out you can see 50 containment. Thats important that number because thats what it yesterday. So they were able even though the winds did with flat last night to hold the line at 15 containment and the fire hardly girl couple of 100 acres or so so it still at around 76,000 acres. Few 100 more then it was and thats how grover nice thats not bad at all. And were also you know continuing to see the destruction as well as they take another look and this is another look at that so this is from the first night of the fire and thats when exploded with us our first look at the thermal imaging. Cameras that were recording it all from the cal fire aircraft overhead. And uh you can see course when that the first night broke out i mean it was just chilling through rugged terrain at that point. A lot of the resources in the firefighting apparatus had been put in place yes, so its kind of run wild yeah during those first overnight hours of course since then weve got a lot more resources on the ground with over 4500 personnel 27 helicopters. They got 558 engines 48 water ten ers i mean theyve really got theyve really got resource coming in from even out of state to right and thats now in place and thats why able to maintain the line last night which is great were full of good news today, you know what else the checks in the mail at p g name. Theyre going give customers a crew. One specific power shut off the one day, the first one where they kind of were so prepared their website crashed communications were terrible. Well the governor just made the announcement because the utility said that this is the First Time Ever and its unprecedented probably never happen again. But theyre going to give customers a credible a 100 bucks businesses 250 bucks because of the way they say that they could drop the ball, the first time they shut the power off. Utilities in the past that never credit. Customers for these disruptions we call for rebates. And abc e o just communicated with our staff that theyre going to support some credit so were being extremely aggressive in respectfully. We didnt wait still this moment. So. Its better than nothing right. But it does only apply to that october 9th blackouts that was my first reaction is always going to get a credit every time they shut out what youre smiling and im not because i lost power, you asked how that 800 bucks but think it all what about me why when youre thinking it like people who have been out since this past saturday. You get nothing because again theyre not giving it for the inconvenience of having no power and Everything Else in the last business whatever it is. Only giving it because they said and admitted you know what that first outage we mishandled number the website crashed. Was working with they are trying to with local agencies wasnt right. So with these current was they think its going swimming they do theyre theyre like hey were live were keeping you posted says a sites not crashing and why so for that think dont know you and i mentioned that theyre fair. All right well we have state laws makers to introducing new policies try to avoid power shut off in the future in fact they proposed to put a pause on the States Renewable Energy requirements to give electric Companies Access to more money. So they can make their current equipment safer without raising customer rates. Republican lawmakers say the pga spends about almost 2 and a half billion dollars every year on state laws requiring the company to buy Renewable Power in comparison. They only spent about one and a half billion to actually update the physical equipment so theyre going make that switch or at least thats the proposal pco has said that it could take a decade before can harden the grid enough to avoid power shut off in the future will see if this money will help. The money that you guys are already collect premises that its been over here. Spend over here on infrastructure. So this gets safer. Were being told 10 this this totally unacceptable. Yeah started 10 years ago. Now down lawmakers are calling on say regulators temperley appoint a public administrator to oversee pg Es Management because theyre not entirely sure that pg e is going to be doing all the work they need to do so they want to sort of a watchdog to look over that both of these proposals will be considered when the Legislature Returns to sacramento in january so no Forward Movement until them. 5 21 is the time they were lying in a look at the weather. All were really monitoring those winds last night and it seems like the you still have some strong gusts. It just wasnt as long of a period that we had this windy weather shorter duration and our peak wind gusts have been significantly significant up 40 to 50 miles. Too 75 plus absolutely site it up cash. We saw this weekend it does make a difference opportunity for crews to get out there have gained the upper hand on this fire. Im sure certainly making a big difference too. This morning skies, a lot clearer last bad air quality across the bay area youre still seeing issues up in Sonoma County. But for most of the bay area were breathing in some fresh air this morning. Glen allen sonoma wind gusts of up to 20 Miles Per Hour right now youre seeing the difference already Winds Continuing to come down for the rest of the morning and were going to stay calm after that point still looking at some dry air in place with relative humidity levels down into the single digits. Thats why high fire danger still does remain enough that red flag warnings remain in effect so be mindful of that were not completely out of the woods but conditions certainly have improved 60s and 70s for todays daytime high similar to yesterday but the difference here as with that air quality so much better, id encourage you to get out there and enjoy it a little bit more unlike yesterday when were talking about staying inside so much come tomorrow, halloween looking good too with highs in the 70s. High pressure builds into the weekend and that does mean hazy skies are looking possible this weekend. But temperatures overall remain comfortable. Robin the commutes for comparable to know problems here on 92. Were checking the trip excuse me across the san mateo bridge and its busy but its not bad only at 14 minutes off to one oh one the bay bridge traffic 80 west pretty slow. Its already stacked up from west grand for the cash fares for the fast track christmas still very quiet. Into san francisco, 80 looks good. So does 24 and and im its 10 minutes to downtown oakland. Very much overnight, even though there were some a strong winds didnt last last too long. Warning is still in effect. But as we take a look at the latest video we have of the fire. Let me just tell you only grew by a handful 100 acres like maybe 4 500 acre 76,000 Acres Holding at 15 containment, which is a huge concern overnight with the winds whipping up firefighters able hold the line that you see is structures that have burned there theres one up in flames, a 189 structures have been destroyed and that includes 86 homes that were lost were still looking at thousands of firefighters trying to get a handle on it and thousands of people that have been evacuated and were looking at new thermal images of the fire. These come to us from the Sonoma County sheriffs department. And this is what theyre showing us is how this works when they can surveyed at night. This was taken saturday night near Fitch Mountain and it just shows you how at night theyre able to find out where spots are and theyre still firefighters that are working on the fire is just not as aggressive firefight overnight, but they have been able to as we said last night hold the line and that is very important james yeah, no kidding the evacuation areas have grown just a little bit i want to break that down with this map here and then also take a look. At the fire burn itself as for the evacuation orders like yesterday we have from one oh one out towards the coast out near jenner but dig a bay thats still a evacuation warning. And were also seeing evacuation warnings to on the eastern side of the fire and get to that the second as for the mandatory evacuations, they are still in place surrounding the actual fire itself and then extending out towards one o one is stretching down towards northern santa rosa, heres the fire burn area has mapped out by cal fire. These red dots indicate where the active burns are happening right now. The newest ones are the dark red and you can see there are few to the south but the majority of the activity has been on the eastern flank and for that reason we have both napa and lake county now implementing evacuation warnings thats actually an upgrade for the section of napa county were calistoga is that was an advisory yesterday. Now it is an evacuation warning, which means the next step up would be mandatory evacuation so they need to have their stuff ready to go have the car packed and just be ready in case that call comes through and you can see a lot of these new spot fires have actually encroached on to the hills in lake county and cross the county line which is why we have like middletown. In a evacuation now cobb also in an evacuation warning zone and into other zones just to the north to this entire eastern flank now the fire is under an evacuation warning because that seems to be where the flames are steadily growing. I do want to give you quick update, closer towards places like windsor and healdsburg because thuts where the big concern was with a lot evacuations in the fire coming close for those of you that are still at family and friends in evacuation shelters, the good news is the latest fires have not been burning the on that side of the fire she looked pretty ok it doesnt look like the flames are advancing any closer to town than they were yesterday again that holds for windsor and also for nearby healdsburg to the north korea so i healdsburg downtown is looking ok but the outskirts there have. Then the homes that were up on last and kron 4 Sarah Stinson has been surveying the damage out in the areas where people cant get back into to see whats left sarah what hes seeing right now. Yes, ive been all over the place you know highway one 28 is still closed to the public. But obviously media can get through so i drove through a the town of geyserville in healdsburg downtown still looking good drove continue to drive but i talked to a Police Officer at that road blocking told me that there is a spot fire up in the hills by the casino, but not at the casino near the casino in the hills so i drove all the way up there drove to the casino did not see any fire because casino is still intact looking just fine. Back down and drove through jimtown seeing a lot of charred land and then here in healdsburg i drove and to the struggling they found this home. I want to get behind the camera so can show you another home that were seeing. You know the common theme with these burned homes is the fact that all thats left is a chimney try to turn this up and its very dark out here. But uh you know there you go you can see it now. Burn chimney thats all thats left and then just a ton of debris here devastating to see and now were hearing that you know, 86 homes burned down. This is a home next to 2 vineyards since its so dark, it is hard to tell what is what this is for sure a home here. Generator here that has burned this not much left to diverted address a that say 9, 5, 5, 5, 9, 5, 5, 5, off highway 2128. 9, 5, 5, 5, what we do is when sarah gives us dress, im sure people do this at home. They know whos at home. It is we check in on google as well and to see whats around it so youre saying this one is near. A winery. Near vineyard call on your a the timing on. Oh yeah, and then your day i see it here on the map toy on. Yeah last so theres nothing left of this home and there are some vineyards nearby ok. And is this one of those homes that is and returned nestled in its own little cul de sac doesnt really have neighbors. Its very remote, have to drive up this driveway and then all along here just land and then if you continue up the driveway. There is more property looked like some kind of shed a million other building. Not necessarily a home but that was also destroyed the school areas devastated in driving along here and i actually talked to some Police Officers there from sacramento area and they told me that there was some fires that sparked overnight and a home burn down so that woman is keep driving on highway one 20 minute run into it. This is what i found. And im not sure anyone has shown this yet because it is hard to find you wouldnt just you know from just driving highway one 28. So yet again thats 9, 5, 5, fives night 5 one leveled very devastating to see. Yeah you see that it borders right up there on the toy vineyards and then thats right across the street on the other side won 28 from use the Joseph Family vineyards and saw scene everybody out that area is going very curious just a how how all these different vineyards in the family homes of survived the fire if they have you know there are few other homes that youdcan and drier. Oh my gosh what kcna get were just showing you the map to i enough you can see this shop it because it is next to a vineyard and this is kind of a remote area. There are a few other neighbors, you might be able to check on sarah. Police said you you spot a washer and dryer rubble, there. Thats just a yeah thats a shame. Its a good thing that we still have no word on. Anybody being missing and everybody is okay drop out. Yeah. And this is the first look. I will say. I will say the difference between the paradise fire and this fire because you know in this first part my first thought was is this going to be like the campfire because it just seemed like it was out of control. But i will say from paradise to report of the there and the difference is up there to one way in and one way out so was just impossible. Theres traffic. Theres claims on each side of the cars and then for here ive never driven around here until now and im sort of getting the hang of it, but there are tons of ways out on highway one 28 different ways you can get out to healdsburg through geyserville and then off to want to one so i feel like the reason theres not many fatalities or people missing is the fact that you can get out and the good thing on the people is is that they did listen to those mandatory evacuations because clearly this is what happened. These this these homes in this early burn down that night but this could have happened any time from last week until literally last night, yeah and i think you know they they have said they are quicker order evacuations. The whole system is just more streamlined and better in place now, thanks so much sarah. Showing us a first look here at a home that was destroyed as we have a new number and now they say 86 homes were burned to the ground in this fire james. All right, lets talk about the role blackouts that pg e has been implementing because that is the other half of the story impacting everybody around the bay now the good news is the winds that were expected last night didnt materialize as strongly as forecast they were there. They didnt blow near as hard and for that reason p g was able to for go the expected power shut off in Alameda County in Contra Costa County santa clara, san mateo and Santa Cruz County so excellent news on that front and there a power outage status map. Actually illustrates that nicely if we switch to that youll see a lot of greens where there was once purple which would have income indicated complete power shut off now only just a few pockets of still have that situation but thats mainly left over from the weekend power shut down and those lines just have been inspected yet by cruz and cleared for reentered is a shun the re thats even a word but cleared to have power turned back on so the good news is hopefully that will happen here in short order depending on the crews and the availability rpg news front. But the north bay still in the dark literally, when it comes to the power shut off and when it might get restored because this point still working with cal fire determine the safety of the area with the emergency. Evacuation alerts in various forms throughout the sonoma napa and lake county but then also to the winds that did happened last night were predominately in the north bay, so they still have to inspect all those lines to make sure there arent any limbs hanging over power lines that could spark when they turn the power back on so heres a closer in view you can see a lot of the areas, especially the hilly areas on either side of one oh one being impacted by this power shut off keep it to kron 4 will keep you updated on what were here for pg es to when they might start rolling these neighborhoods back online with power. So stay tuned for that. In the meantime daria it looks things are getting. Well slightly. And just have affected. Cell phones. A lot of people are thinking why is my cell that working and its because in many cases there were cell towers. They need power to and because power was shut off. That affected the cell towers that means people couldnt for example contact their family in a fire danger zone or get 911 updates and other updates that they needed. This happened not only in the areas, some of the evacuated areas up in a you know the santa rosa area. But also in areas that just the power was shut off for in marin county. Some spots in the east they will the fcc is now doing a review. Cell phone companies to improve the networking case of an emergency in Sonoma County alone. All quarter of their cell phone towers were not working and this is why cities under mandatory evacuation. Of the towers in marin county were not working during the Power Outages. And major providers 18 t verizon t mobile they all say theyre working to improve their cell towers in emergencies, but they havent given any specifics and what they have. It powers knocked out big run by battery and then of the better it is work then they could have generators that theyre sitting there just like you are feeding, you know fuel into it and this just is not been adequate so a lot of people right now are sand will we know why do i have no cell service and if youre wondering. Thats why and by the way the laws havent caught up with modern day, everybody only has a cell phone there so few landlines. Are any laws that say in an emergency, you must do x y and z you must maintain. Theyre still in the saying you know you figure out customer you figured out because that was back in the old days when cell phones were you know not the major way that people communicate now they are so whether youre watching us on your cell phone and still have no power but at least you have a cell which is great thats probably what youre using now with our kron on app or maybe as you said james a lot more people have power and maybe youre watching us. On channel 4 on broadcast, either way weve got the very latest for you now lets take a look at the weather which did not produce huge wins last night nor for a long time which is good news. Yeah, very good news. Daria we saw winds still breezy but not near as breezy as initially forecasted. And also the duration of these winds a lot shorter especially when you line it up with what we saw this weekend when the kincade fire rapidly grew a 2 of those factors definitely playing a part and why we are seeing a bit of good news out there this morning as far as we go here across the bay Higher Quality is massively improved since yesterday, this Golden Gate Bridge view is Crystal Clear yesterday were taking a look at that same camera and it was pretty hazy now still breezy up in areas like sonoma calistoga not list peak, still looking at winds gusting as high as 40 Miles Per Hour on mountain tops. But overall we are coming down and were going to continue to come down through the morning, this is at 9. 15 already noticeably calmer than it is right now and were only going to get calmer into the rest of the day. We are seeing winds in healdsburg lytton in santa rosa, definitely on the calmer side asti Still Holding on to some breezy conditions has also is Hidden Valley lake east bay we didnt lose power last night which was forecasted to impact you part of the reason is winds never really materialized as much as initially forecasted so all that really good news whether youre talking about the wildfire whether youre talking about loss of power for many counties that ended up keeping it last night, red flag warnings do remain in effect today that is because we are still a touch breezy and we still do have some dry air in place to humidity is low enough that fire danger is still of concern, although it will be lessening through the day those yellow and red contours gradually disappearing on a sunday afternoon, 40s and 50s for your current temperatures across the bay, definitely dont forget your jacket this morning, especially not up in the north bay area probably an already if youre without power because it is going to be chilly in your homes novato in petaluma right now egypt freezing that 32 degrees each right now were in the 30s and 40s. But later today, we are going to see daytime highs in a really comfortable range of 60s and 70s a lot like yesterday just better air quality so really a lot of improvements to talk about. Robin what the traffic only getting heavier more folks hitting the road now we have a jam. Visit takeactionpv. Com back at 5. 55, you know as the kincade fire continues to burn lot of people been asking about safari west and whether that wildlife preserve is in any danger. Its in santa rosa out near calistoga and they are actually bracing for evacuations, safari got thousands of animals we had a chance to speak with keeper about just kind of how anxious are feeling right now. Its nerve wracking you know, especially this time around because the last time it just came and went flying through us and then we did damage control afterwards animals are fairly tense instinctual theyre going to move away from a fire coming their way and they tend to go back into the burn zone after the fire has gone through. Its almost selfpreservation its not its in states taking overs. The rest the animals. Theres not much we can do and they dont really theyll be seem to be bothered by any of the noise. And whats interesting too is. The last time they had a fire back that has fired 2017 of to keep it there says the animals actually help save the preserve because they all the grazing they do kept the vegetation really low and kind of created a Defensible Space thats what they say do an hour of the animals to do it.
