Im live here at pillar point of 5 miles west of where that crash occurred in the ocean and 2 pilots their friends. They were flying together above half and they above the ocean having a great time. But thats when one of the pilots in his passenger. They were in that plane and it went down. Take a look at this video shot by the other pilot. Hes still on the sky calling for help. The pilot of the crashed plane david last tells us his single engine beechcraft plane lost power before it came down just before 6 last night he had about 30 seconds to repair for a water landing. Lush was flying along with another plane as i said his friend the pilot as in a leap old who reported the video from above leap health called in to air Traffic Control and the coast guard. But as hes doing this. He also was in contact with his friend down in the water for 10 minutes even hear from hes looking down at the plane. Hes wondering if hes ok 10 minutes later, he gets a call from lash plus was able to get his phone out of the plane before it sank. Now we talked with lush and lee pell to hear about how well this all went down hear how scary these moments were. But i was i was just getting cold out there. Well my friend rose with his life guards, its used all the better. Breast started the i think frees up i would guess i had another 30 or 40 minutes, maybe an me out there, im not i would have been at the bottom of the ocean, its its its absolutely some real money during your friend call from a knee and asked for help. You know its its something you never want to hear and watch him go down. It and so trying to process and for about the first 10 or 15 minutes are ready this condition was in what he called me or its quite early. But im some of process right now. After seeing. They were to land and when they got here to the harbor everyones surprise. Its out there in need medical attention need to be. Driven to the hospital not they didnt need it they were okay, they insisted they were okay. Its a shocking to hear that someone would be in a plane crash into the ocean and then survive from that its amazing to hear from them as well now this morning were waiting to hear back from the f a a about what is going to happen the investigation, we know that last said that his plane to the powers when now 2 in here from the s about their investigation and where theyre at with that in terms of them working on it and the ntsb says stay tuned as we continue to learn more office of the plane is still in the oceans or trying to see if theyre going to take it out or theyre just not going to well see what theyre going to do for now live in Half Moon Bay, Sarah Stinson kron 4 news k. Heres your next 7 days temperatures, not changing much if anything theyre only getting slightly warmer come next week when will be in the mid 90s on average inland and bayside areas will solidly be in the low 80s and were not seeing much change in this forecast on the other side of their next 7 days either. Long range is showing that its likely to stay warm all the way into the following weekend. Robin. Thank you john im not tracking any hot spots are major problems for the morning commute still underway and its still quite slow. On the san mateo bridge or drive time has dipped to 26 minutes but you know it goes up and down earlier it was about 30 minutes thats all normal to make it from hayward over to the peninsula but just know that this traffic here on 92 spills over to 80 south so still quite slow. Not a huge improvement not yet. Same story here the drive into San Francisco backed up into the maze busy across the upper deck only thinning out in your carpool lane. So you can make it in under 20 minutes, this is a really good commute a normal decent commute heading into San Francisco. So once again no alerts no major hot spots where weve had fender benders and minor issues, check out 5 80 and the nimitz both roughly the same so if youre making it from to 38 to downtown oakland. Its 31 minutes for both 5. 80 west in 18 north north to 80 a little crowded, but not bad 34 minutes, san jose to cupertino and once again as youre driving to work heading to school out about just watch out for the kids watch out for the fourway stops and make sure youre backing out of your driveways safely james back to you.
