Hundreds of wireless pagers exploded at the same time, around 3 30 p. M. Local time. That was across lebanon and syria, targeting members of hezbollah, the iranianbacked militia group. At least nine are dead, with thousands more injured, many critically, after the devices blew up in their hands, pockets, wherever they were stored. Now hezbollah increased their use of pagers after the October 7th attacks to prevent communications from being breached by israeli intelligence. But this attack is sure to escalate tensions in a region where israel for nearly a year has been fighting its iranianbacked enemies in both lebanon and the palestinian gaza strip. Cbss Elizabeth Palmer reports tonight on how the attack was carried out and the farreaching implications. His attorney blasted the decision. Hes a fighter, and hes going to fight this. Reporter combs was charged with Sex Trafficking, racketeering, and interstate transportation for prostitution following a monthlong Homeland Security investigation. Between at least 2008 and the present, combs abused, threatened, and coerced victims to fulfill his sexual desires. Reporter prosecutors allege that combs used his Business Empire to force women to engage in sexual act with professional Sex Workers at events he called freak off. It was there that prosecutors say combs was violent toward the women, alleging he would hit, kick, throw object at, and at Times Drag victims by their hair. When you are looking at a racketeering charge, which carries life in prison, when you are looking at Sex Trafficking charges, this is someone who really may never see the light of day. [cheering] about 30 americans came here to navigate the nantahala on rafts and probe the limits of political estrangement. I am a southern baptist, fiscal conservative. I am openminded, politically. Im a pragmatic progressive is what i call myself. Reporter they are liberals and conservatives, independents and libertarians, sure to oppose one another on all manner of ideas and issues. We dont talk about whats working enough. Weve turned away from god, for one thing. We have lost so much of our humility. Reporter but they are willing to talk and paddle together toward something deeper. As americans, we really are all in the same boat together.
