If you like it warm and toasty , today was your day. If you have been stuck in the city for months , freezing, wearing parkers in july . I dont know who you could be talking about. Now is your time. Did you wear shorts . No, but i am excited to where my three summer outfit that i save for this time of year every year. Weather along the coast, those three days in store for us for the first half of the weekend. Lets get into what you need to know. It is going to be on the hot side for the first half of the weekend, the heat wave last through saturday, heat advisory tomorrow and friday. Not for the entire bay area, but down the bay, along the santa cruise not, the south bay at santa clara valley. Cooling trend kicks in sunday, but still a little above average, and it will actually feel like early fall early next week. Right now, looking up from the mark hopkins hotel, blue skies overhead, full sun, temperatures in the 80s for the most part most part, a mix of 80s and 90s, 90 exactly in san jose, 93 santa rosa, the temperature downtown, actually 85 degrees in San Francisco. 81 degrees the temperature right now in oakland. Those temperatures are way above normal for this time of year. Later tonight, despite the warm to hot daytime temperatures, we are going to back down nicely, lowes tomorrow morning beginning mostly in the low to mid 60s, a little above normal, but it is not like we will see excessively warm nighttime temperatures, which helps to limit the overall heat risk. Lets look at forecast high for tomorrow. We are talking about hot readings, running around 15 degrees above normal, into the mid90s in the santa clara valley, san jose, los gatos, and morgan hill around 94 or 95, topping 90 in fremont, low 90s on the peninsula and redwood city, up to 80 degrees for half moon bay. Today hit 81, you will be in that territory again tomorrow, one of the warmest days so far this year. Temperatures in mid 80s in San Francisco, maybe a degree warmer in oakland. Inlet and the east bay, mid90s, which is hot but not recordsetting. We will check records at 5 30. In the north bay, temperatures mostly in the low 90s, hotspots reaching into the mid90s. Make sure you exercise common sense, stay hydrated, take breaks when you can, find airconditioning and shade. But really most concerned about areas along the coast, if folks dont have air conditioning, they had to be concerned. Some folks may get a little overheated when the hot temperatures really settle in during the afternoon. Also watch the fire threat, humidity levels will remain low overnight, especially in the north the mountains. Dropping down to around 20 , even during the nighttime and Early Morning hours, then, of course, once temperatures heat up, humidity goes down even more. The good news is the winds will not be that dusty, humidity will be critically low, around 15 on the low end of the spectrum by thursday afternoon, so while the firefight will be elevated, it wont be off the charts. Something to keep an eye on , but this heat wave will not last forever. See the tenday transfer livermore, bottoming out with below average temperatures by monday, tuesday, and wednesday. Lets look at the sevenday forecast, where was the hot weather continuing for inland part of the bay area through the first half of the weekend, well into the 90s, then temperatures drop down to below average levels by monday and tuesday. There is even an outside chance of a couple showers in that timeframe as well. Temperatures around the bay will be warm, including for the blue angel display friday and saturday, backing off a little sunday. If there is one they fog and clouds could play a factor in those displays too much fun with this stuff it would be sunday. We see temperatures above average along the coast the next few days, backing down into familiar territory in the 60s , put away the flipflops by sunday and monday. Be careful, man.
