Keep in mind, you know, fire crews found hundreds of boxes of Hazardous Materials inside a backyard shed along this block here and they had to quickly rush most of that material out of the neighborhood. Keep in mind at this hour, we dont know exactly whats inside those boxes. Thats something were going to try to confirm with crews at some point this morning but we have learned the person at house where the incident is happening is a retired chemistry professor who had stored chemical supplies and a shed for quite a while. He is cooperating with authorities at least at last check. Hazmat crews brought in special equipment to find out exactly whats inside there and how dangerous this material could be. People who live in the neighborhood were directed to the Contra Costa Community college gym as a shelter. We know the red cross is assisting evacuees and some people told us they didnt waste any time getting out. We were coming home. And we came home the usual way down 11th street. I was treated as a criminal. And looked down upon because of course i was an addict and i was you know, selling drugs and smoked my own supply because of the all the years of trauma and being trafficked. Reporter she is applauding fbis latest operation crosscountry that helped locate four children and 17 adults. She feels the key to really reaching the victims is to provide the right type of resources. Important that we continue to bring advocates and we continue to even survivors to be a part of those situations. Where the victims can relate. They can understand because theyre not going to talk to somebody thats in a uniform. Reporter thats why she cofounded redemption house to give victims the support and tools they need to turn their lives around. Well, once they realize you know, like that the power is theirs.
