One passenger told us it was a bit nerveracking considering the current covid surge and how close everybody is sitting next to those on the plane. I was nervous sitting next to each other as people are walking past you shoulder to shoulder. Im so sweaty, i cant wait. Waiting as far just to get here. Reporter so remember Health Officials are recommending against traveling at all for thanksgiving, but they are saying if you did travel, theyre hoping youll be able to quarantine. But they are asking you to stay inside as much as possible for the next two weeks. Brian, theyre just desperately worried here that people are coming back from these travels. They are going to infect more people in a time when we already have a major surge going on. I dont know what your senses are, but all the implications to just stay at home during thanksgiving. Why are they going to obey the suggestion that they quarantine for two weeks . Reporter yeah, well, i mean look, information is very important right now. So the best we can do is get it out to people. If they ended up going, hopefully they will heave these warnings. Maybe their family members will also kind of, you know, give them a little shove and a push in the right direction. Right now what they dont want are for people to be out and about if they have been on these planes. At sfo, joe vazquez, thank you. Lets take a live look at san jose. Travelers headed home to Silicon Valley, getting under just the wire. Starting today all residents are returning from more than 150 miles away, required to quarantine for 14 days. Though there is no stated plan for how or even if the county will enforce that as brian was just eluding to. Its not busy just at the airport today. Santa clara had 18 testing tents. At fairgrounds running full capacity. Da lin is there right now for us, da . Reporter yeah, juliette, Santa Clara CountyOfficials Say within the last 24 hours they had 574 new covid cases. That number likely does not include any kind of exposure that happened during the thanksgiving holiday. Typically that takes about seven days to show up. They said come down, they could squeeze you in. Reporter Jonathan Parisi is hoping it is the flu and not covid. A little bit of a cough. Reporter the family stayed home for thanksgiving. In the next few days hell be isolating from others until he gets the test result. I want to be safe. I have a wife and kids at home. Definitely seeing more people with symptoms. Definitely seeing people who have a household or workplace contact with someone who tested positive, which is just a reflection of the amount of the Community Spread of covid currently in our county. Reporter dr. Jennifer tong says those who recently traveled or took part in large gatherings not to get tested. Its possible you could have been exposed to the virus, and it is still incubating in your system. When youve had a known exposure is the first step. Then testing around day seven of that quarantine is the second step. Reporter all the appointments for the 25 test slots today were taken up. Last week i just made a few friends in his backyard, so i thought i should come in and get tested. Thats it. Reporter there were 18 testing booths. Each one with a short line of cars. All getting tested at the same time. Were planning to take a trip. Before we visit some relatives, we wanted to make sure to have a couple of tests done before we leave. Reporter requiring everyone who has traveled more than 150 miles to selfquarantine for 14 days. We plan to quarantine when we come back and get tested again. You know, da, its hard to secure an appointment. People are getting savvy as to when they could squeeze in to the slot. I know they want people to get those appointments, but can others just show up . Reporter right. No appointments needed for those who have symptoms. He had other symptoms similar to what you would see in a covid positive person. He and his family and three kids just came back from athanksgiving vacation earlier today. He said can you please not air the interview because my wife is trying to go to work on monday tomorrow. If you air that interview, my wife will be in trouble. So we cut a deal. I wont air the interview as long as he will convince his wife to not go to work because the wife is also exposed to him. I was like hey, just tell her not to go to work until you get your test results in two days. That is another top of mind. Folks who need money and may have to go to work because, you know, even if theyre exposed. Absolutely, thanks for that information. Thats because theyre not just dealing with the pandemic here, but theyre dealing with the blame. Its desolate. Theres nothing here anymore. Reporter grand avenue on a sunday morning would normally be jammed with shoppers and diners, but now its quiet and empty. Steven lee coowns the restaurant that has been operating in chinatown for more than 100 years. This is a result of a pandemic. Reporter the tables are empty as a restaurant that once had people lined up down the block is takeout only. So were doing to maybe three and a half, three people from 23 shifts down to three people. Reporter of course, its the same story all over town, but in chinatown it started early in february before the lockdown even began. The restaurants here were empty. But you go through the tunnel or north beach, theyre all full. It seemed like there was something going on that they were scared. Reporter the fear and blame for the pandemic landed squarely on the businesses here. While racism is nothing new, 90 yearold stanley g says he has never seen it with this kind of affect. I used to wish any other places. I dont care about the restaurant, but i will worry about the people here. Its the saddest thing. Reporter only five people are left to run the far east restaurant down from 50. Manager kathy lee is hoping the new park they built will the garages will charge 8 for parking. You probably know how thats going to end. Let me show you the view from the top of the Salesforce Tower because there is something weird. And look at all the light on the bay. Thats not there every night. That is moon shine. Full moon putting a lot of reflected light on the water. And weve got a camera on top of the Mark Hopkins Hotel on hill. A couple of other stops here. Lets check in on the tri valley. You can see the moon just went out of the upper righthand corner here. Relatively clear skies. Temperatures are just fine, 51 degrees in livermore. Concord at 53. San jose is 55. Everybody is pretty much in the same spot with the exception of the relatively warm oakland. But the real weather issue right now is how cold in the morning. Two because theres nothing else going on. Morning lows are the thing. If you were going to notice the weather in any way over the last few days and for the next seven, its the morning lows. These numbers tomorrow are pretty good for what you saw today. If you have things you need to do in the predawn hours, this is where we will be tomorrow morning if youre still on a somewhat normal weekday morning monday schedule. Bundle up tomorrow. 33 for santa rosa. You can kind of see the pattern with all the 30s up here. Just take one on one and go north. 41 in san rafael, 37 nova doe, 3 be petaluma. You see the trend there. The deeper it gets. But into the bay, look at richmond only 43. Come back down to the south bay. By the way concord youre at 37, just like san ramon and pleasanton. San jose will be there too. Now look at oakland, low 40s. So more access to the bay, the better the temperatures will be. The daytime highs will keep warming back up to pretty much the same spot. Well be back up into the mid to upper 60s again with plenty of sunshine, maybe a breeze here, few high clouds will pass through from time to time. Look, heres some. In fact theres a storm thats coming into the pacific northwest. This had be the last one even up in oregon or washington. The rain will turn off for them. Watch what happens. This is for monday. Theres that line of showers. It will fall apart because monday at 8 00 a. M. It could rain in yreka and looks like. Now looking out for the next seven days, we dont see that. Thats going to start turning off. You can see in the sevenday forecast with plenty of sunshine. This is one of the scenarios, whats the problem . Sunny, mid to upper 60s every day with a routine. I could set my clock by it and make plans. But thats really nice. We are falling way behind on rainfall already. I mean they have a lot of work ahead of them. Looks like the first half of december. Ill show you that forecast going into the middle of december coming up in the next half hour. No rain on it, just to verify. Any way thats where rain will start right now. Whats going on with sports . I have better news. 49ers and the rams players, a thriller in los angeles. Can they pullin the final seconds . Well the 49ers might not have a stadium after rolling out its new quarantine rule. But if they keep playing like they do today, then who cares where they play. Kyle shanahan is off the bye looking to sweep the rams this weekend. Picking it up in the first quarter. Eightyard touchdown run. Back for the first time in over a month. 73. Third quarter the rookie got his first sack last week. This week he is first in interceptions and his first touchdown. 27yard return. Ken law, getting some oxygen. 143, 49ers will lead. Mullins and company faced a fourth and one. But they set up a 42 yarder for a ghoul who kept straight, just long enough for their 2320 win. Their fourth straight win against the rams. 49ers now 56 on the season. I cant be more proud of our team and what they have gone through all year. Especially over the last two weeks and 24 hours, i did have a lot of concern because of some of the stuff all of us and our families have been dealing with. I cant tell you how proud i am of those guys and how they went out there and fought. Their heart and energy was, i couldnt ask for anything more from those guys. Now, the owners just won one game. The raiders were in atlanta coming into play as vegas had a wild card spot. They were 64 taking on a 37 head coach. Getting a chance to see their team in person. Not worth the price of admission. Late first half falcons on fourth down. Matt ryan to calvin rid lee. Atlanta up 137. Looking like they are letting them come around, screaming around, a drilled car. Falcons will take over 163. Not a lot of tomb, picked off by dion jones 67yard touchdown. 233. Raiders ran the game held 40 yards rushing. Josh jacobs will fumble this ball and injured his leg on the play. Five turnovers in all for vegas. Atlanta will roll out 436. They fall to 65. I apologize to the raider fans. Our fans deserve better than what we did today. Our organization deserves better than what we put out there today. It was a bunch of trash. It wasnt good. It snowballed on us today. Ive seen it happen before, but it cant happen again. With the loss the raiders drop to ninth in the afc playoff praise. They trail the dolphins on a cold spot again, but they do face both teams next month. Now to the game Brian Hackney couldnt wait to watch. The Denver Broncos face the new Orleans Saints without a quarterback. Denver started practice squad wide receiver kendall hittton under center because all four bronco quarterback were on the covid list. Third quarter hinton under pressure, just threw it up there, intercepted by c. J. Gardner johnson who threw more interceptions than completed passes. He was one of nine. Saints offense just fine. Late third former raider murr cay with 123 yards on the ground. Two scores. New orleans won 413. Theyre 9 2. Chiefs receiver tyreek hill letting buc fans know i cant be stopped. First quarter pat mahomes deep 75 yards to hill. He finished the game with 13 catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns. He, mahomes, kansas city, outbeat tampa bay. Chiefs are 101. College hoops two days after stunning number four, virginia, todd golden and usf facing rhode island. Second half rams up 15. D. J. Johnson, capped off the 142 run. They will roll 8471. Donzer headed home their record of 22. And so the 49ers are back in the playoff picture even without jimmy moore on game day tonight. And i like it. Thats a lot of pressure when youre the backup quarterback, you know, you get that moment of fame. Just think about the denver quarterback who didnt play quarterback until he was at wake forest like eight years ago. He could have won that game. They scored three points. They could have won that game. Great, thank you. Welcoming up in the next half hour, startling statistics on the u. S. Surge. Not happening. Too happy here with just a few degrees warmer than where we are for daytime highs here. They are getting more rain. Thats true. Especially now. Thats something we could use more of. Let me talk about that first. But first the full moon. A beautiful shot, officially at 1 30 this morning just at the same time an uneventful eclipse is going to happen. Dont go looking for it at 1 30. You wont notice anything, but the camera on top of the Mark Hopkins Hotel has been getting a beautiful view of it. Trivalley, youve got a full moon overhead. But i would like to take the temperatures from where they are now. These are our currents. Warm 50s with a lot of green on the map too. The numbers are quite comfortable when you get outside. We will dissolve into the morning lows. And now its 31 for the morning in santa rosa. And the theme on here is you get into the north bay, youll find the coolest temperatures. Just pick out the pattern right through here, plenty of 30s. Closer towards the bay the numbers will come up a little bit and look over towards the east. Concord youll be at 37. Walnut creek at 38. Down to the south bay same story. The part you will get away from the water, the colder you are going to be, 36 for san jose. 38 in pleasanton and livermore. Then hayward, San Francisco, bring us back up to the mid to low 60s. Have you noticed much about the weather in the afternoons lately . Probably not. Thats kind of the goal with weather like this. You dont have to think about it much. Get outside, enjoy the low 60s. Youve been able to do that for a while over the next seven days. Weak systems out in the pacific with the next one. Lets come in closer now and watch what happens by the time we will get tomorrow morning. Thats where all good storms will have to start. For us they will come in from this direction. Only this one is going to fall apart. Now watch how that just dissolves. That is really the last one even looking out for the next week or so. Were not going to see anymore than that. I mean this is about a week and a half of accumulated rainfall. You see the date up there. Just took us all the way to december 10. Nothing from now till then. We are falling behind. Santa rosa with a little over six inches of rain so far. How much do you think weve had . An inch and a half. Only 23 . But wait it will get worse. Look at San Francisco, should have had four inches of rain so far on average. Now we have had half an inch. 13 of average. When you get down to san jose where the numbers are understandably lower, on average you only get about two and a third inches by this point in the season. But weve only gotten. 13 inches of rain down there. 6 so far. So our big months are november, december, january, february and sometimes march with an honorable mention. If it turns into a miracle. Getting into the heart of the season. It looks like were going to miss out on the first two weeks of december. So get out and enjoy sunny and mid60s, no envy over honolulu with weather like this.
