the family s ring doorbell camera captures the moment the suspect runs up to their front door and tries to rob the victim with a gun. when i watched the whole video from the beginning, it just hurts my heart. i definitely didn t want that to happen. reporter: the victim is a grandfather in his 70s. his son-in-law was near the front door inside when it happened. but his newborn son was in his arms at the time. i realized that the quickest i can do is start banging on the do are and screaming, hoping that he would get his attention. reporter: warren did not want to show his face. he tells us the attack happened around thursday morning when his father-in-law had just finished an errand and may have been followed home. the suspect does eventually run away. the family shared the video online and told neighbors what happened. they also reported it to police. in the end, he s happy that nobody was hurt, especially his family. he s safe, and that s all we could ask for. r
