That is downtown near the san jose state campus on east san fernando street. Police at this point say there is no confirmation of an arrest but they say they will release more information this morning. There was no Church Service going on last night when the stabbing happened. The victims might be Homeless People who were allowed into the church to escape the cold. There are two crime scenes that have been investigated by police, one that was inside the church, the other that was outside. These two stabbing victims are san joses 40th and 41st homicide so far this year. The Pharmaceutical Company astrazeneca says late stage trials of its covid19 vaccine are highly effective. Highway 4 itself, a clear ride. We have not seen any brake lights or issues on northbound 101 from san jose toward sfo. We are starting to see more volume on the roadways for the ride across the san mateo bridge. Tail lights heading toward muenster city. If we take it from where it is now, by the time we got to 9 00, the clouds go away and then you are looking up at blue sky. The temperatures for daytime highs are right on the mark for where they should be this time of year. Low to mid 60s, even mid to upper 60s. Concord will go to 63. The coolest spot in the morning and then warming up to one of the warmer spots by the afternoon. It will stay like this through thanksgiving. Look at the daytime highs. This is for thursday. Identical for today. Mid60s if you are inland. It will not be raining here. The longrange forecast shows any rain coming our way will all be held well to our north. If you look at the 7day forecast, those are numbers staying in the mid60s the whole way inland. Low to mid 60s for the bay. At the coast we may notice a few clouds here or there. It happened last night at san joses Grace Baptist Church on east fernando street right by the san jose state campus. No confirmation of an arrest right now the we have heard some rumbling overnight that perhaps police had detained one person. They are not confirming that at this point. The people who were stabbed, it looks like they were Homeless People who were being allowed into the church to shelter overnight, to escape the cold. Officials that the federal governments covid19 Vaccine Development program say they hope at least 20 million americans will be vaccinated by the end of the year if the fda approves an emergency authorization next month. On the 11th or on 12 december , hopefully the first people will be immunized across the united states. Pfizer applied for an emergency use authorization last week that the fda could improve in about two weeks. Moderna is expected to apply sometime this week. Reporter this is following new numbers that in the last seven days, cases are the highest they have been since the pandemic started. Same thing with hospitalizations going up about 50 as well. Due to an uptick in demand, the county is expanding its testing facilities, going into the holidays. Right now, the fairgrounds site tests 2500 People Per Day but that will now increase to 3000 starting today. Next week, the county will begin testing 5000 people total at least three times a week, ultimately by december theyre looking to do twice the current capacity. We want people who must test to continue to have access. Essential workers, people who have been exposed. We are asking people who want to test because perhaps they want to test before traveling, to please not. Simply postpone your travel. Reporter basically what they are asking is instead of saying let me take a test to see if i can go to thanksgiving, instead, scrap thanksgiving so that the folks who need to be tested can get tested. I will start out with san jose as my example of why we are noticeably warmer. Look at the view over the skyline. You can tell, it is kind of cloudy. The report out at the airport says there is even a fine mist falling but it is the thicker clouds appear that are also being reported, up around 2000 feet. Not only covering the south bay, it is most of the bay. You can think of that as a wet, gray blanket. You can really see it from our camera on top of mark hopkins when you look out toward the east. There it is. It is covering up most of our view of the bay here. That is why the numbers are in the 50s for most of us. If we change our view and look back up at the tower on the east side of the bay bridge, 50s for most spots. 50 in San Francisco 53 in concord. 54 in oakland. The one spot that is still cold is santa rosa. It is 36 right now. You dont have that deck of mid level clouds. It is cold enough in the santa rosa that we have been able to develop some fog down on the roadways in places. Some of the sheltered valleys up in Sonoma County. Look at the difference. 13 degrees warmer in petaluma than it was yesterday. Same story in livermore. Look at concord, 16 degrees warmer. Outside your door in concord right now it is warmer. That also would apply to friday morning because you probably were not out and about this early on sunday but you probably were friday. It is just the same story. We were noticeably colder.
