We are seeing some pretty significant delays into the Allatoona Pass. The crash happened at 11 45 last night and at one point, both directions were shut down. All lanes are open so traffic is moving in both directions but with the morning ride, on the westbound side, we are seeing some pretty busy conditions. It was slow out of tracy and noun house and making matters worse, it is right around greenville. It is a busy ride in that area. Katie nielsen has the latest information and she is in the Allatoona Pass with what happened with the fire. Reporter gianna, we are looking at this traffic backup that you can still see. You can see trucks, cars, just crawling their way along westbound 580 and you can also see the black charred grass. That is where this fire was burning overnight. As you said, it started right around midnight after a crash in the eastbound lanes. The fire then spread through the grassy median area between north flynn and grant line rhodes. Chp had the entire freeway shut down for most of the overnight hours. At one point, the fire jumped across the freeway and was burning up the hillside. Alameda county firefighters were able to get that put out, so right now the majority of the fire is out and we are still seeing a few emergency vehicles left at the scene. Those eastbound lanes opened around 4 00 and westbound lanes opened right around 5 00 however the backups are continuing on the Allatoona Pass. A Procedures High School in san jose is apologizing to its students for failing to protect them from sexual abuse at the hands of their own staff. There was an accident and the eastbound lanes and that is what started the fire. That fire is mostly contained to the median, the area in between the east and westbound lanes of the freeway. At one point it did cross the westbound lanes and started burning up part of the hillside but firefighters quickly put that area out. We did just get an update from cal fire and they said this fire was contained about 222 acres, so right now, firefighters, just a few of them are still on scene working to put out any hotspots but the bigger issue right now are all of these residual delays from those traffic lanes being closed. Along the Allatoona Pass, grant line road, this is where the traffic backups still remains from an overnight fire. This fire started around midnight after a crash in the eastbound lanes. The fire spread through the grassy median in an area between northglenn and grant line road on interstate 580. Chp had the entire freeway shut down for most of the overnight hours. At one point, the fire jumped across the freeway starting to burn up the hillside and they quickly attacked that fire. It is out right now but there are still a few fire crews on scene, making sure none of these hotspots flare up. You can see some of that shard area in the median on the freeway that residual backups remain from those overnight closures, especially in the westbound lanes of interstate 580. He was found alone but safe on the boat Late Wednesday afternoon. Crews are investigating an overnight fire at a marijuana grow operation in antioch.
